Honestly. You two are so sweet. And I can’t believe how quickly you are improving your technique! Not being patronising, we bought our first canoe in July and are similarly new to it all.
Watching your videos from the beginning it’s so obvious how much more confident you are in the water, and your paddling is so much more in sync by this third video!
I do feel sorry for Cath (I’m the bow paddler also) that when you are giving your (very helpful) information and filming she is paddling all alone, doing all the work!. She’s completely bossing it though!
Something we found SO helpful was swapping seats. It immediately gave us an appreciation of what the other has to deal with and made our communication a LOT clearer. If only there was a way to do that in life! We’d make a KILLING at marriage guidance counselling!
Anyway, lovely to see other couples paddling together and enjoying the beauty of the world from the water. Thanks for being such good citizens with litter picking. We also take a picking stick and bin bag but as we mainly paddle rivers we don’t see as much to pick. Looking forward to your next video ❤

Hi Nicky, sorry only just seen your post. Made us smile😀, your quite right of course the more we go out on Brian the more confident we seem to become. Sadly Cath has drawn the short straw being the lighter of us. We were advised the kayak handles better with the heavier person at the rear. In fact we've have several passers by comment on how little I do! Its difficult though to paddle, film and run commentary all at the same time. We are both thrilled that you are finding our contribution entertaining. Cath is chuffed to bits to think she's 'bossing it'.
Any rivers you would recommend? Anyway we've just uploaded our 4th adventure, hope you enjoy it and thanks again for your encouragement ❤ Keeeeep Paddling 🤣

I bought the book after seeing on the vid’…. Very useful. I usually play about on the chesterfield canal, mainly launching at Drakeholes, love the place. Been on the Selby Canal a few times….only ever launched from paperhouse bridge and paddled north. Not got as far as Selby yet

That's great Steve, the new revisions of the Nicholson guides as they get published, will now have far more information for paddlers in it. We tried out Chesterfield canal last week, will edit and upload soon. We launched from Staveley, will have to look at launching from Drakeholes. Pocklington is our favourite I think so far!

I kept looking for the Kingfisher, maybe next time.
Looked like you where paddling on a field rather than a river, but locked amazing. Going to watch your other video's later ,but I'm enjoying them.
Cath, paddle upside down again lol

Thanks for your kind words, glad you like our contributions. Cath's confused, as am I, the paddles look to be symmetrical, what are we missing? ..you can tell we are new at this can't you...:-)

Now I really appreciate your beautiful video - you could almost call this canal an open sewer - water weeds and you can also see black water, too much nitrite, how can a fish still live in there? People who want to go fishing are not going to have much fun there. ✌
