You said no states. Fully automatic aren’t legal in any states in America. You can get a special license that takes extensive background checks to get them and you have to be a dealer. And or pass by your Local Sheriff. But yes exactly no shootings are ever from a legally obtained fully automatic gun owner so year, I just mentioned in that it’s correct you saying most states, It’s all states unless you have extreme special and good reason to own a full auto

I was a social worker preaching gun control for years, until something happened that I was in no way able to talk myself out of as I had so many times before. I was trained in an ideological perspective that I really had to examine especially in light of the gender issues and the general acceptance within the mental health community to affirm rather than treat. I retired. I became a foster parent. I was followed. I voted for Trump. I was followed. I bought a gun. Phone calls! I got self defense training and insurance, range membership, etc. And so went my education. I’m raising two little ones that will grow up knowing our history and why we have a Bill of Rights.

It's not always about defending yourself from another person with a gun. A childhood friend pointed a gun at his step dad so he would stop beating on his mom. They were overpowered, but the gun turned that around. The gun that day prevented more violence and perhaps helped that man realize it was time for a divorce because he can't get away with being abusive. Sad but true.

YAaaaaaaaa that is almost a story gone soooooo wrong and almost very poor handling of a firearm. I have a rifle, 2 glocks, and a pump action. I live in a state with very lose gun laws. However, a kid "childhood" handling a gun in the 1st place is already a BIG no no. That is not legally his and could easily have that wind up with everyone dead. BAD BAD BAD example but IK what you mean. Glad it worked out. Normally a man would try and just grab from the kid..... Mom needed to be the one trained with the gun and protected her child but yal.

@@braedenlocke6820 I hope you do not pass "wrong" judgement so quickly. Of course, it is always a messed up situation when someone has to pull a gun on someone to defend themselves or others. That doesn't mean the adult, child, man, or women shouldn't have defended themselves. I assure you my childhood friend and still my friend today was right to protect his mom and himself despite the sad messed up situation. It could always be worse and it should have been better, but the point is good people are sometimes overpowered in terrible situations. A gun can turn that around. Of course great power always brings great responsibility.

    • @EscapeFromCrazytown
      @EscapeFromCrazytown 2 роки тому +6

Wow, that's scary stuff. And it could have gone so wrong if your friend wasn't able to defend his mom and himself. The problem isn't guns, it's mental illness. And today there's a lot of psychosis being taught as normal, evil being taught as good, and good being taught as evil. Mental illness is to be feared more than a sane person with a gun. A sane person with a gun can stop evil. Just like your friend did. He prevented violence.

Also life situations often do not work out in the ideal conditions we strive for. I understand your point and I generally agree. My main point is that guns tip the scales when anyone is overpowered and therefore should be available for that reason. Of course you and I can say a child shouldn't have a gun, but I would also say the entire situation I described shouldn't of happened and thankfully it turned out the way it did. I wish it didn't have to come to that, but it did. It is a very difficult scenario to discuss, but it is sometimes a reality we have to deal with. I believe everyone, child or adult, should train or be trained to the best of their ability about how to respect firearms and respect the fragility of life. I hope no one has to defend themselves with a gun, but I will always believe it is everyone's right to defend themselves and others while keeping in mind there are consequences to making mistakes.

You are ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! Our country has had the second amendment in place from the beginning, but we didn’t start having these school shootings until around 2-3 decades ago. What’s changed? It isn’t the guns. They haven’t changed. So again, what’s changed? Obviously it’s something. It’s GOD. Or the lack thereof. There are no morals or values anymore. No love and fear for God. Their purses were taken and the daughter sustained a broken arm from the force of her purse being ripped away. Fast forward to now: They both are weapon carrying women who frequent the range. You are talking nonsense. Any objective look at the statistics between your country and one with strict gun laws will show that prevalence of guns leads to more fear and death.
A traffic stop is a potentially deadly situation in America, because the police have guns and the driver has a possibility of having guns. Where I am from neither party has a gun and the chance of death is close to zero. If someone breaks into my home, I can defend myself with my fists because they are highly unlikely to have a gun- in America the robber needs a gun as the Homeowner is likely to have one.
The fact that schools have gun drills and the reaction is not to remove as many guns as possible is mental, even worse that the proposed solution is to bring more guns into the equation.
Do you see how guns escalate the likely hood of someone getting shot?

The left makes decisions with their emotions not their brain because they don’t have one to begin with. Hence why most liberals end up homeless, addicted, and perverted. They have no sense of identity or individualism so they just follow the crowd because they hate themselves.

I think what amazes me is how willing many of these people are so willing to hand over their rights that our forefathers fought so hard to win. Ask any of them, as I have, how it feels to have a gun stuck in your face and not have one yourself. They can't, because it hasn't happened to them.

I was given my first rifle at10 years old. Never thought of shooting anyone.
In high school almost every student that drove a pickup truck had a rifle in the trucks gun rack , no one ever got shot.
Just about everyone carried a knife , no one ever fought with them . That was back when we had prayer and we recited the pledge of
    Allegiance to the American flag.
As children / students we all felt we were apart of something bigger than ourselves and it was good .

I live within a reasonable drive from Uvalde. As tragic as that was I still stand with the 2A as do most people in Texas. I wish I could figure out how to communicate to liberals that if we apply current laws that is all we need. We need Mayors and District Attorneys that apply those laws. Most of all -- and this is the most frustating to me -- get them to understand law abiding gun owners are not the problem; and mostly the evil bad guys DO NOT CARE about laws. Some people get a gun and immediately think “ I can go rob someone now” others get one and think “now I can protect me and my family from getting robbed”. When people are bad at heart than you will have criminals.

I went to a school in the mid 70's. There was a school parking lot full of unlocked pickup trucks, open windows, and a gun rack in the back windows with shot guns, deer rifles, and .22 rifles. There were NO school shootings! Yes, sometimes a fight would break out on school grounds, but NEVER did someone get their gun and shoot their opponent...in fact, many times, the guys would shake hands after the fight and they became best of friends! Moral values are not being taught in school or by many parents now days. These kids need to know the Constitution, and how to discern the REAL difference between right and wrong. Parents need to stop promoting racism and oppression, and teach their kids that with hard work, they can do anything to better their lives. Too many parents are failing their kids in today's society!

Yes, there were occasional fights...but, not once did anyone retrieve a firearm from the parking lot. Unfortunately, times have changed.
