*Hello everyone. I recently got mine seeds from Indian temple in Punjab. They did super well I don't know the color of the flower and I did break the non pointed side of seed with knife to help germination. Once you see the leafs come from pod, place two tubs one inside other. In the centre tub place garden soil some small small garden pebbles and place the pods in it with single leaf. Now, once set fill water in outer bigger tub. You will see the leaf will take its direction to float. Keep in good sunlight it needs 8+ hours of sunshine and 10+ hours nocturnal light. Every Sunday place water pipe in outer tub so old water and dirt can flow off with fresh water inside tub ( will give nutrition Also). Remember lotus is a natural pond flower it doesn't need any artificial care keep adding water in 7-10 days. Happy growing* ☘️💗

Lotus seeds are very hard. How you cut it on top easily?
@@shailajabharambe9660 I keep them in water for 2-3 days .. then use sand paper / nail filer. As I see some rubbing I use knife to make a cross. Leave it again in water and repeat next day... Works slow but it does...

Very nice.. if the information about soil, fertilizer and seed quality and how frequently it has to be fertilized ...all these questions are answered then it would have been ideal and beneficial for all. Because they say from seed to bloom it takes more than 2years. I have them since 2 1/2 yrs n still not flowering. I use only organic fertilizer. I am looking forward for some information and complete guide especially for fertilizing. All are showing the same. Hope to get information. 👍👍🙏🙏
They don't need anything extra, just healthy pod and you crack them open. They are nature lover and abundant sunshine which in India is very easily available. This is the main factor I believe that when other country people try to grow lotus fails or has a delay in flowering or even growing. In India they just grow wild at times in ponds:) Clay soil+ like sand some pebbles and frequently changing water ( tap water ) is all it needs. Tap water has the balanced amount of minerals already 🌿 💕
My lotus today is small cause i keep it in a 5 inch deep pot and 3 inch wide its very healthy i use it in my guppy pond

Hi once the plant is grown out use any soil from home depot etc. Put in container and add water a week before atleast keep turning the soil so it cam get mix and settle. Then plant and it doesn't matter if the plant is submerged under water it will still grow out and bloom beautifully. 1 seed will hatch unto 10-15 baby plants so depending on the size of your container not more than 2 seed🙏💪🇬🇾

1) Hybrid take 2 months plus and normal seeds will take its full annual cycle. You can get from Flipkart/ Amazon but I get mine from Indian Temple ( non hybrid)
2) I use normal soil garden one to sow the seeds when I see the first break leaf from pod. Any good soil with less algae will di

google says to put them in loam soil (Loam soil is composed of almost equal amounts of sand and silt with a little less clay. A good ratio is 40 percent each of sand and silt, and 20 percent of clay.)

Wow I get it he just changed the water after it got germination and just left them in the water until they sprouted after amount of days and planted them in dirt that is muddy soil that u plant them in then add water again let’s them grow in the water then add more water and let it grow nicely explained 😊

what soil mix did you use?
Clay soil mixed with cow manure is good but you don't need the cow manure I just use it for compost
When i put my lotus seed in water they all sink after three days some of them are floating,is their a chance that the floating can geeminate as well??

Direct sun is essential to save from insects. Insecticide cause harm to the lotus plant.

Fun fact- you need to change the water you put your seeds to germinate every 1-2day or else the seeds will decay and the water smells like coconut water

That's normal some seeds need to be soft to germinate

Greetings from the Philippines. You do have green thumbs for the successful planting. May I ask? Where did you keep the sprouting seeds, is it inside your house? And for how many days before you brought them out? Did you have the change tghe water everyday for 18 days? I am asking because right now my seeds are on their 4th days. Sprouting seeds should be kept outdoor but in indirect sunlight. And yes it is necessary to change water everyday. Hope by now your seedlings are doing great

The one thing I noticed on day 20 aside from the states of the plant is the mosquito larvae...

@@vivekreddy6989 I used to put guppy fish but I'm not able to keep them alive so now my mom force me to put abate in there... I don't even know weather mybplant will survive or not😢
I put a betta fish in mine and he eats the larvae. Plus bettas are very hardy. They don't need aerator and can survive somewhat muddy water since they have labyrinth lungs (aka they can breath on the surface of the water)

@@fatihahkhairi9440 I'm not an expert betta enthusiast or anything but I do like them and I can share what I have been doing. First, never keep more than one betta in one pot or else only 1 will survive. They are called fighting fish for a reason :D I also keep my lotus pot in partial shade (only gets around 4hrs of intense direct sunlight) since the water temperature may rise enough to kill the fish. After all, the Philippines gets really hot during summer. I also only feed him with betta food 2x a day (ideally 12hrs apart) since overfeeding will result to cloudy water plus he gets additional protein from the larvae anyway. Don't forget to GENTLY change 20% of the pot water every week with fresh water to help maintain pH and remove possible excess nitrates and other fish/plant by-products. Gently since it's not good to agitate the soil too much and cause the fish to feel stressed. That's all. My lotus pots and pretty fishes are living happily for 3 months now. Hope this can somewhat help.

Few lotus plants take 4 months few take couple of years to bloom

Hi. I filled the seeds and soaked within 2 days one of them sprouted . Whereas today I noticed all of the seeds have turned pink in colour and sticky. I am concerned that the seeds have turned bad for some reason. Or is it normal. Could you pls advice what's to be done..

You should change the water once a day to be safe. Each time you change the water, you should wash off the sticky part on the seeds.

Well, I soaked my seeds (the end was already opened) for one day, then I dumped the water out to change it and forgot to refill! So, they sat 24 hours without being in water. I will reply to myself here with updates. I sure hope I did not ruin all 12 seeds.-i threw out 3 seeds that did not fully germinate. at 13 days-roots forming! inside, window sill, 70-72 degrees
i'm just starting mine...some didn't do well. but i am in the uk and weather isn't warm yet. trying another batch of seeds. i used aquasoil, but it smells and i have to change the water. if they grow bigger i will put in a pot in our koi pond
