The video is so powerful. The big red button (nuclear bombs) was pressed and everything was wiped out, then it returns back to the stone/ice age. As it would happen in real life. Einstein said before “I do not know what weapons will be used in the next world war, but the war after that will be fought with sticks and stones”

The flowers are poppies, which grew on the fields of the first world war, using the bodies of fallen soldiers as fertiliser. The poppy is used as a sign of remembrance of WW1 in the modern day.

poppies are the flowers that they are harvesting in the middle ease..they are used to manufacture opium..opium has been a scorge on this planet [as well as a value commodity] for centruies..goes back to ancient Chinese dynasties...and well we all know opium is used to make Opiods pain meds, heroin. and oxycodone,fentanyl and other anesthetic drugs ..the significance of the tank destroying the poppy fields..the message is the war the middle east is about gaining control of the poppy fields
That is the part that makes me cry the poppies represent the dead soldiers during the World Wars, but when they run it over with the tank means they doesn't respect the people that died during the World Wars.
my favorite lines are in the bridge, "when did the walking apes decide that nuclear war was the only solution to them keeping the score, just wake up...can't you wake up" gives me chills every time. this whole album is such a masterpiece and masterclass in musicianship and lyrical prowess. please react to more songs from this album.

As much as I love the Rev, Brooks is a such an amazing drummer as well.
Let's be honest, Brooks is on a completely higher level than the Rev.

@@mutatednut idk man.. drummer to drummer, there was a raw talent that Jimmy had... it was so special, it's hard to describe. Is Brooks technically better than Jimmy...? probably. but... listen to City of Evil. nobody can write a drum part like Jimmy... he was so unique. impossible to compare him to anyone.
bring him back to life, and give him these songs to write the drums for. could you imagine how insane they'd be???
I love Brooks. closest I've seen to Jimmy, they should keep him in that band forever. but I just think there was something about Jimmy.... he just... idk. hard to put into words. just like when Dimebag, Randy Rhoads, etc died. we lost, someone truly special WAY too soon... it's really not fair

Their choruses really bring their songs together, mellows out the craziness from the rest of the song lol

"Strength of the World" "Acid Rain" "This Means War" "Hail to the King" "Save Me"
The video depicts human evolution of conflict from stone age to present day. The poppy flower were the time of world peace between the world wars.
Please listen to "Save me" by the same band. One thing you should keep in mind, that song was part of the "nightmare" album by A7X, the album in which the rev (who has been their drummer and childhood friend) passed away during the production of the album. So naturally, there are a ton of songs that feel like a rev tribute.
The message isn't "American culture" loving violence, but mankind. Thus the video showing the history of humanity up to the point where we kill ourselves all off and remnants start over again.
As a 2 decade long A7X fan, this album was hard for me to get behind, it took a couple years for it to grow on me. "Waking The Fallen" is one if the best albums ever and their musical evolution has been incredible.

watching people slowly (or quickly) fall in love with your all time favorite band is just.... indescribably special. kind of makes it seem like I picked a good group to fall in love with.

their best songs are actually NOT the mainstream ones. I suggest listening to Tension, Crossroads, or 4am. trust me, I know this band better than anyone on this earth, and I think y'all would LOVE these songs
My youngest son 23 first introduced me to avenge 7, I am 54 still listen to them with him when we do get to see each other. My son plays drums and is a big fan of the rev.
One reason I found Avenged Seven Fold. Brooks Wackerman. He is a beast. Just completely nasty drumming. Like his brother Chad that played with Zappa for many years.

Please guys, Save Me is probably their masterpiece, a song about their feelings after lost The Rev. You need to react to this song with lyrics. And if you wanted some catchys chorus you should try Hail to the King, This Means War and Coming Home, all excelents songs by them too from their most classic heavy metal album

Wow! I listened to this in headphones tonight. Usually they do not hit with me. I try but just not my favorite. However, this was great! Musically, I was really impressed and stuck with it! The video did help. But probably would have liked the song without seeing it. That guitar (and drums) at the beginning were great! I need to go back and see the lyrics.
