    If you intend to play with a figure, perfection is the enemy of greatness. If you really love an army and want to play it, you have to be willing to not get bogged down in every detail....just the really important ones. This is a wonderful example of using skill and a well defined process to make that happen. Great work, man.

    really stellar sculpt and an equally stellar paint job! those green details (the gemstones, verdigris on the gold, etc) really pops!

    The green contast/wash on the gold is absolutely inspired, and yes, while gold doesn't tarnish like other metals, rule of cool wins every time. It looks ancient and grungy, coated in the decay of the centuries. A brilliant paint job for a stunning sculpt; one of GW's best for a long time. Hope to pick one up some day!

    I've taken lots of painting tips from your videos, but now I have a tip for you: I find by far the easiest way to remove liquid mask is to soak the tip of a Q-tip in liquid mask. Once that's fully dried other liquid mask will stick to it extremely well and you can use it to remove the liquid mask from your models with ease. I find the risk of damaing the paint underneath much lower than using a toothpick or tweezers.

    Im so happy that you and Andy are doing this now full time! I just love watching your videos and listening to your "rambles". I took a different route with my Flesh-Eater-Courts, I gave them a more human flesh tone to make them look more creepy and unsettling due to the "normal" skin tone on such grotesque models.

    if you put a small piece of paper in the latex, it gives yo something to grab hold of to start the peeling, just a small rectangle will do. Also you'll get more Latex from Sylcreate for the same price

    Absolutely love this and will be using this for when I pick this model up later in the year. Following the recipe for the FEC on the last video felt like a game changer for me as well. No more obsessing over every detail but instead letter that undertone and flesh colour do all the heavy lifting. Top stuff 🤘

    Incredible work, I was hoping you'd do a video on the goreious Summerking. I have a couple of questions on your methods:
    You seem to use shade and contrast paints interchangeably through the airbrush, are there times you would use one over the other when the colour is similar? E.g Druchii Violet (shade) vs. Magos Purple (Contrast)
    How do you use shades/contrasts through your airbrush? I just add a few drops of thinner to aid the flow, but curious how you do it.
    Cheers

    • @cultofpaint
      @cultofpaint  10 місяців тому +1

      Thanks!
      The contrasts are way more powerful colours, more like inks. I've used shades for the skin in this army as I wanted a softer colour.
      Yes exactly that for airbrushing them. A few drops of thinner just to smooth them out.

    Hi Henriy, I love your video as always! It just makes so much fun watching you paint and enjoying the process!
    I am sorry to bother you, but i do have 2-3 questions regarding how you painted Ushoran:
    What colors did you use for the different skin/face colours in Ushoran's fur/cloak? And did you paint the middle part of his fur/hair(?) out of his back just with ratling grime like his hair and then highlighted it? And what vallejo model color do you mix in for the highlights of the fur, the hair and so on? VMC pale blue grey(907) or VMC pale blue (906)?
    Thanks in advance!
    I am already looking forward to watching your next video- doesn't matter what you will be painting!

    • @cultofpaint
      @cultofpaint  10 місяців тому +1

      Hi!
      The skin/face are just Guilliman Flesh with different colours off my pallette mixed in for highlights ( karak stone, pale blue)
      Yes just ratling plus 1 highlight like all the others
      906

    Wonderful work! I'm following your tutorial for painting my FEC army and I have just a couple of questions: I used the Casandora Yellow/Athonian camoshade mix for the skins of my whole of army (Ushoran included), how did you highlight/shade the skin after the airbrush? Ad the face of Ushoran after the carroburg crimson shade? Thanks in advance, keep up your good work!

      They're bound to have a very pale green. But to be honest I do t think it makes much difference. So any off white that you like to use will be fine.

    hey i have a question why do you not paint in the gold before you add the oil? i tried recreating your skin recipe but i ended up getting a dark yellow color instead did I end up using too much casandora? I thought i had followed the recipe but oh well, it kinda came out pretty neat though if you ever seen the movie Sin City it looks pretty close to the character "That Yellow Bastard".
