I do shoot in s-log3, but still am not confident when doing so. For my camera, the ZV-E1 I expose around +1.7 max. My main issue is what to do with it once I start the edit. I've looked all over and have yet to find a clear explanation on what LUT I'm supposed to use. I've just been slapping a DJI Mavic lut on my footage which makes zero sense, but usually looks ok.
Awesome video, bro! I've had my eye on the Rhino ROV Pro slider, and the quality is nice. From what I recall, the Rhino app to control the slider is outdated. How did you manage to work it out?
Thank you! yeah, it's pretty sad that Rhino has given up on sliders. I also have their ARC II system, which is filled with empty promises, but thankfully still works. With the ROV, and in this instance, I put it in video mode and have it loop or wait for the moment I want to capture and hit "Move to home/end" which is abut a 15 second move. It works for the most part with my Sony in doing a proper timelapse capture, but every now and then it will have a random interval delay in the middle of a move and then go back to working how it should.
Happy New Year! I’ll tell Santa to be a bit more aware of the photo opportunities for you guys next season.
Really curious how you guys were getting such incredible shots this year.
A lot of preplanning and researching before the big moment.
This is awesome! Do you shoot in S-Log3 on your Sony? If so, do you have any tips for exposing/color grading log footage?
