    Grab the artillery shell, drop the shell, and as you're grabbing it again, switch weapons.
    Should fling the shell.
    Chargers, run towards and juke them.
    After they pass, stick an EA-Ts beacon on them.
    If you fail to stick it, don't fret, because you'll have EA-Ts in a few seconds, which you can shoot at the charger.
    And somebody please petition Arrowhead to give the bile/nursing spewers a sound when they're walking around, because nothing that big should ever be able to sneak up on me.

    There's something really satisfying about the dual narrative of "I made some mistakes; we can use them to improve" with "the devs made some mistakes; we can use them to improve". Thanks for another excellent, insightful video.

    IMOP I think the gas strike is way more useful then people give it credit for. Very low cool down kills all the small annoying bugs super fast yes even hunters and warriors and last about as long as a bug breach I have taken it on Helldive more then a few times and I really like it.

      With the modifier that scatters orbitals it makes the gas strike dangerous for you and your teammates. Sometimes it's hard to see the gas so if it isn't where it's supposed to be then it's just an unnecessary hazard that isn't killing bugs anymore. I hate that modifier more than the one that removes a strategem because (unless you were able to see the modifier before joining) you won't know it scatters until you fall victim to your own orbitals after landing.

    • @Brokentwobutton
      @Brokentwobutton 11 днів тому

      Gas is awesome except as people listed above. When orbital accuracy is put off, I might take rail cannon, or maybe a barrage for area destruction, but rocket pods, airstrike, 500, and napalm work. Main thing is I play on difficulty that's fun

  • @ObliviousNaga
    @ObliviousNaga 23 дні тому +2

    I'm just going to say it, the railgun is a rather mid choice against bugs and is a poor choice when you dont build around it. Flame thrower, arc thower or my personal favorite, the grenade launcher will deal with all those enemies except titans very quickly compared to the rail gun. Build around something like those weapons and you'll have a better time.
    Another tip I picked up from stealth bros is that the jump pack can actually be used to confuse the bugs. Turns out that divers leave an invisible scent trail on the ground that bugs can follow. Jump pack launching you into the air will break that trail and the bugs will lose you. Line of sight is still a thing so make sure you break it when running away.
    Last thing, never activate a console on an arty objective until all shells are ready to be loaded. Once that console is on, patrols will start spawning and will make your day a lot worse

    • @JebblesJunior
      @JebblesJunior  23 дні тому

      The rail will one shot anything below a charger and it's two in the shin or three in the head. I don't use the flamer because it takes too long with spewers, but I see others getting some use from it. I don't recommend arc weapons most of the time because they feel like they teach people not to aim or position well.

    • @ObliviousNaga
      @ObliviousNaga 23 дні тому

      Oh ja it will one shot most things but it's just one shot and its a bit too slow solo. Bugs need something with AoE. I can kill more things with a GL after a rail gun reloads from its single shot. While a charger may take 5 grenades, it can launch nades very quickly

  • @SGWeber
    @SGWeber 23 дні тому

    Your spewer frustration is more than felt here! I want to point out another benefit of EAT: it can oneshot chargers if you hit them in the mouth. However, my favorite support weapon for bugs is definitely the grenade launcher. Clears bug holes like nobody’s business, and not bad against chaff. Then again, I’m not running into titans and shriekers right now because I’m introducing someone to the game and we’re currently on Challenging

    • @JebblesJunior
      @JebblesJunior  23 дні тому +1

      They are very helpful for chargers yes. I use the railgun or flamer because I like to keep them stored for titans or structures.

    • @SGWeber
      @SGWeber 23 дні тому

      @@JebblesJunior That makes sense. I haven't had luck with the railgun personally, but from your footage it looks like I'm aiming for the wrong spots. Flamer is also a solid choice. I hadn't considered keeping the EAT banked but I'll give it a try now that I've seen your approach.

    My personal loadout picks. Keep in mind I play aggressively. The more chaos there is the better.
    Primary: incendiary shotgun for mob clear and flying shriekers or plasma shotgun mob clear and stagger.
    Secondary: grenade pistol for bug holes and back up for bile spewers because they must die ASAP.
    Grenade: stun grenade coupled with flamethrower and air strikes
    SupportWeapon: flamethrower for everything except bile titans and shriekers, EATS or quasar mainly for long range shrieker nests and bile titans.
    Stratagems: Eagle air strike for general purpose, orbital precision or 500kg for bile titans, sometimes orbital laser or orbital rail cannon because I think they’re cool looking, orbital air burst if I’m chilling out in D6 or lower.

    Story time. Ok so earlier i joined a level 7 mission I'm used to playing diff 7 so no big deal right, well I drop in and not 5 seconds later all my squad mates disconnect i drop a sos, but nobody shows up to help. I accept that I'm on my own and go on to complete the mission. Keep in mind that until this point i had never soloed any difficult above diff 1, so this was a trail by fire for me. I got the mission done and extracted and ended up having a lot of fun sneaking around the map dodging patrols. The only advice i can give is slow and steady diffenitly wins the race when your a solo.

    I can't imagine doing solo without artificial "teammates" - aka Guard Rover + sentry
    Also the Spewey boys are the reason I started running HMG Emplacement. If you can get a good position, it pops 'em like zits...and it kills shrieker nests. Kind of an "EAT" but for heavy gunning.
    That all said, my solo loadout for bugs: HMG Emplacement, Guard Dog Rover, Gatling/Autocannon Sentry, EAT/Quasar. And of course...my beloved Blitzer

    • @JebblesJunior

    Not going to lie, the ammo pack feels mandatory because there just isn't enough bullets for the amount of bugs you're going to be face. When the patrol bug gets fixed things just won't ever be the same anymore.
    edit: I packed a quasar cannon for the chargers but seeing that unsafe railgun shot to the charger shin expanded my mind. I'll have to practice on that and one shoting spewers with it.

    Do you have any tips on how to use E.A.Ts? When I use them I seem to always never call them in/forget I have them 😅, call them in at a bad time, and call them in and lost track of them or my original support weapon. Got any ideas on a good way to practice with them or something?

    • @Wwhat357
      @Wwhat357 24 дні тому +2

      I like to think or EATs as calling down emplacements. They’re great when used proactively rather than reactively. Starting to do an objective? Throw it down as you run in. If you find a sleeping charger in there run back to the EATs that are ready to go. Throw them down again in the objective if it takes a while. It’s way better to have to run a little ways back instead of trying to call them down and wait on the call down.
      It’s also not bad just throwing them anywhere making a bread crumb trail as you move around the map. If things go bad, you can retrace your steps if a bunch of chargers or titans suddenly becomes a problem.
      I gauge success by how illegible the minimap becomes by the time you extract. There should be little rocket icons all over the place by the time the game ends 😂

    • @JebblesJunior
      @JebblesJunior  24 дні тому +1

      Your best bet is honestly bring them into games all the time. You'll recognize they're there, you'll get used to the cooldown, and you'll get better at firing them. Also call them in when you locate the threat but not next to the threat. That way the time for them dropping down is accounted for and try to play around them until you're done with them.

    Would you rather take auto cannon or EAT for bug missions? I feel like auto cannon is more of a jack-of-all trades (in my opinion) as it is more versatile, it can take out chargers and stalkers and bile titans and spewers, (spore spewers too) but the reload time and backpack slot really limit the usage. However the EAT is a two shot, one hit charger and two hit titan, but it can re-deploy in a minute. The auto cannon also is able to close bug holes pretty well, so you could potentially free up a grenade slot for a stun grenade instead. I dont really know which one to take (I go back and forth a lot), so I wonder what you think?

    • @JebblesJunior
      @JebblesJunior  24 дні тому +4

      I use EATs along with a support weapon like a railgun and supply pack. The autocannon is ok, but it's too immobile for me. I need to be constantly moving to find success.

    • @GnarledStaff
      @GnarledStaff 24 дні тому

      I like bringing AC against bugs because its good against bile spewers. But it requires strong trigger discipline as it has low ammo and stationary reload. Not sure if I really recommend it for solo. Works great on a team though.
      Its a good medium killer but can be somewhat lacking against swarms and heavy enemies.
      Sure, you can kill one charger if you dance with it, and shoot it in the rear a bunch, but miss a couple rounds and you have to sit down to reload. Not great if there is a 2nd or 3rd charger.
      The EAT is always in my kit for bugs. It can kill heavies effectively, and I can just toss it down near teammates when defending a position so they can use them if needed.
      The quick cooldown also means you can have a support weapon if you get separated from your main support weapon.
      I have definitely taken both before as I tend to take 1 ordinance for lights and 1 for heavies and can take 2 support weapons if I forgo any turrets.
      Does the AC take out bile titans now?

    There is another issue with reinforcements that may be a bug, or it may be poor design decisions. Taking out a nest/factory should decrease the amount of reinforcements/patrols/whatever you want to call them in a mission. Even a load screen tooltip states this, or at least implies it (I didn't memorize the exact wording). Instead, it increases the number of enemies arriving to kill us?

    • @JebblesJunior
