Great video - looks like you both enjoyed yourself :-) Hladinka is the preferred Czech way of pouring a beer. A lot of thick creamy foam which is there to protect the beer. And the beer comes with little carbonation, which makes it very sessionable. The Czech can pour their pale lager beers in 4 different ways - Hladinka style is by far the most popular one. Yes, Urquell has quite high bitterness, but this beer is for many of us simply the best in the world. When the beer comes from tank, it means it is not pasteurized, which makes it even more fresh. When I'm in Prague, which is quite often, I try to drink in tankove pubs. The dark Kozel beer you had is one of the most popular dark beers in Czech. And by the way, the handle of the beer glass is there to be used, if not your hand will increase the temperature of the glass and beer more than necessarily. And we don't want that :-) Sorry for being picky. Keep up your good youtube video work.
Thanks so much for all this info 😊 Sounds like you really know a lot about beer, so your picky-ness is totally understandable 😉 Marek was in his element trying all these different beers and I'm sure he would love to relive this day!
(5:07) You get the goulash with original Bohemian dumplings. Lucky you. Bohemian dumplings are made from yeast dough and cooked in steam over boiling water. Since the dough in a cloth napkin has the shape of a roll, they are also called napkin dumplings. They need a lot of sauce. - Cheers- Heinz
Btw: The Plsner Urquell: This was tje first beer brewed iin the kind of Pils. A Bavarian brew master created it, he used more hops for the Pilsner water, causing the little bitter taste. The Czechs now have their own hop-growing area, which produces the bitter hops required for the Piils.
This is such an informative comment! 🤯 we absolutely LOVE learning from the comments we recieve and your comment is no different 😁 thank you so much 🥳 that definitely explains the bitterness and the goulash and dumplings... one of our favourite dishes of all time! 🤩
Oh my goodness! I was spellbound. Almost forgot to breathe. The whole video had me unblinking and hanging on every word. You sure know how to captivate your audience! Thank you, thank you.
Thank you so much Mammer! 🤭 We take that as such a compliment!
Great video guys 👌🏻👌🏻
Thank you so much 😀
Wow. What an interesting video. Ymmy food, and that dark beer....
Very good video. Thanks again you two.
Thought that you would like it ma 🤭 glad that you enjoyed it! 🥳
Kozel means "Goat" in Czech, and it is (naturally) the mascot of the brand, which is one of the most popular beers in the Czech Republic.
That's so interesting, we had no idea. Thanks so much for telling us 😄 It was our favorite beer by far 🤩🍻
13:53 this is how you pour Czech beer. Beautiful.
He really did pour that beer very well! It tasted fantastic and was our favorite beer of the day 😁🍻 Which of the beers we tried do you think you would you like the most?
Our kind of video!!! We love Prague. It was lovely to see it again through your video. We love Charles Bridge, so cool there was an engagement there! We’ve actually been to the bar or beer 3!! Thanks so much for sharing 🍻🍻🍻🍻
Thanks so much guys! 😄 Prague was beautiful and we had a blast filming this video 😁🙌🏼
9:11 i don't think the name of the beer is "hladinka", the name of draught beer in this pub( or rather name of the town the beer is from as is common in Czechia) is "Svijany".
Hladinka in Czech means something akin to "level" and when used in connection with beer its one of the ways how beer can be served, and "hladinka" generally just means its gonna be large beer( typically half a litre) with healthy amount of foam on top of it, just the way how most of Czechs likes it.
Oh my goodness, thank you so much Jiři! 😁 haha i dont know if you can tell that we struggled a bit to make sense of the receipts that day 😄 so we really appreciate helpful comments like yours, thank you! 🥳
This is really what I love! Your contents are so inspiring!
Thank you so much! 😁
Kuchyn(4th location) has a really beautiful location. The food there is on the pricey side, but also very very worth it. I looooove the Kozel dark beer as well. Thanks for the video!
We didn't try the food there but we really enjoyed the location 😍 the Kozel dark beer was our favourite by far! 😁🍻 So glad you enjoyed our video! 😄
Thank you Kelvin. I came to the comment section to search for the locations. There is no use of the informations without proper locations.
So much happening in this video, and it was all just amazing 🤩The food looked so yum, and the beers just got better. What a day! Just wondering about the mystery of the macaroni cheese 🤔
Yay! Thank you so much Cheryl! 😁🙌🏼 We're also still wondering about that 😂
Now that's our kind of tour 🍻 Especially in that amazing city. Well done guys 👌- Trevor
Thanks so much Trevor! 😄 We really enjoyed this tour and would be keen to do one again in the future 🍻
Prague: Best place for a tipsy episode. :D
Couldn't agree more! 😄 Did we seem tipsy though? We honestly felt fine all day 😅
Love this guys!
Thanks so much, Michael! 😁 just you wait for next weeks video, it might bring back a few memories 🥳
@@SarahandMarek looking forward to it!
You guys are an amazing couple. I cannot wait for each new video. Wow what an inspiration you 2 are. I Bless you in all aspects of your life and travels. May you always have money in your pocket and a new destination to travel too. Keep safe and God Bless
Thank you SO Belinda 🥰 We really appreciate it and your comment just made our day! Thank you for being part of our journey 💛
I could not agree more! Amen to the beautiful blessing.
Terrific review! TY for the Prague beer recon!
Prague was a blast! I will need to go back
Tank beer means the brewery comes and fills up the tanks and then the pint comes straight out of the tank so it isn't pasteurized and stuff (I think). So basically its a fresh as the beer can possibly be!
Oh my goodness! That is so interesting! Thank you so much for telling us 😃 have a great day!
What a nice video again Sarah & Marek! 👍 Going that way soon too. Prague has been on my wish list for a long time. 🍺😁
Thank you so much, Ferry! 😁 Prague really is such an amazing city 😃 We hope that you have the best time there! 🥳 also, please do let us know how your trip went and what you thought about the city 🤩
Loved this video and the food looked soooo good 🤤🤤 I would definitely go for the beef goulash that looked amazing 🤤🤤 I would not be able to drink so much beer, well done to you two 🤣🤣🤣
Yay! Thanks so much Courts 😁 the beef goulash was SO good! 🤤 After a while Marek was the only one drinking 😂😂 I couldn't handle all the beer 😅🍻
Thank You :) 😅💋
Thank you for watching 🤩
Poppy seed is very popular here. But for extreme quantities like this strudel, or sprinkling on sweet dumplings, there's a mixed opinion due its distinctive flavor. Somebody is lover and other detractor. But just about everyone loves a few grains on the pastry.
That's really interesting! Thank you for telling us 😀
You guys always deliver on great content ✌️
Thanks so much guys ☺️
Thank you for this video! Really enjoyed it! We are going to Prague in two days and we love beer! 😄
Yay, thank you! 😄 Hope you are having a wonderful time in Prague 🍻🇨🇿
Thank you for a wonderful walk !
Thank you for joining us 😄
great video, great food
Thanks so much Dino 😁 we loved the food!
Thanks for all the great videos you put out. Looks like you had great fun. What is the name of the place where you had the fourth beer (dark)?
Thank you so much, John! 😁 we can't remember off hand but i will play around on google and try find it for you 🙂

Hey was so lovely watching you taste all the delicious foods....was salivating 😁 Sarah, you did well to drink all those beers, I'd have one and would be wobbling! 😂 Love seeing the sights with you. Are you going to visit Croatia 🇭🇷? It's very nice. X
Yay! Thanks so much Rella 😄 I'm so glad you enjoyed watching 😁 To be honest I stopped ordering my own beer and had a sip or two Marek's after the first restaurant. I don't think I would have lasted to the end otherwise 😅 Croatia is in the near future for our travel plans 🤩🇨🇷
@@SarahandMarek great you will enjoy Croatia. Dubrovnik is amazing and their waterfalls in parks are lovely x
You are sooooo nice and optimistic! I love you both. 👍
Thank you so much David! 😄🙌🏼
Simply duo ...food the best (Czech)👍
i recently "came across" your channel because of the german videos. first of all: i love it!!!! (and of course i subscribed)...second: pity you "flew" (in a bus) right across the eastern part of germany... you should have stoped here (where i am from - Thuringia). marek seems to have some language-skills in german????? some sounded very fluent???? hmmm....thanks for sharing and i will will follow along... if i am allowed to. all the best from the thuringian woods...
Hi Christian 😄 thank you so much! Honestly, we were lucky to be able to visit Germany because of how expensive it is. Our friends were so generous and offered to host us for a couple of weeks. They just happened to be based in southern Germany. We would love to visit Germany again someday and explore more of the other regions 😄🇩🇪 Marek has Polish heritage so perhaps it was that you were picking up on. He's also really good at learning words in new languages.
What is the name of the 3rd place? The one with great views.
3.5 score for the Pilsner Urquell, ouch !!! hahaha It's an acquired taste :)
Haha it definitely is an acquired taste and one that i will attempt to acquire 😆 thank you for watching! 🤩
I’m going Over Christmas time how is it regarding covid restrictions
Hey Mickyfrank, thank you so much for the question! 😄 So from our experience being there, the only time that we were required to wear a mask was on public transport. We were never asked to show a proof of vaccination or a test or anything so all in all, at that time, it was very relaxed regarding restrictions. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask 🥳 but as you know, restrictions are constantly changing so the best would be to confirm with the Czech authorities directly 🙂
Czech beer is so good and cheap 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
We have to heartily agree with you on that one! 😄🙌🏼🍺
👍 👍 👍!!!
😁🙌🏼🇨🇿
you are trying to make mark weins eyes :P
nice vid
It's an honour to be compared to him 😆 thank you for watching!
Good video. Germany with expensive drinks. To save is it better to go to the ✔ Republic.
Very true! 😅 And the Czech beer is really good 🇨🇿🍻
What was the name of the 4th place? Cheers!
Not me listening to every single word of your reviews of the beers, although I don’t drink beer 🍺 I can’t wait to visit one day (maybe more for the food though!) Do they have many vegetarian options available?
Love this! 😆 we definitely did not even scratch the surface in terms of the Czech cuisine but that gives us even more motivation to do another food tour sometime 😋 in terms of vegetarian options, we were not specifically on the lookout for it but just from what we saw, most of the dishes put emphasis on the meat but we are pretty confident that there will be a wide variety of vegetarian options available throughout the city 🙂 thank you so much for watching! 🥳
dark beer is the best there
Mohnstrudel gibt es in DE auch, aber lieber mag ich Nußstrudel
The dark beer was our favorite by far 🤩🍺
Nußstrudel ist auch nicht schlecht, aber beste ist der klassisch Apfelstrudel mit Rosinen und Walnüsse. Grüß aus Böhmen ! ;)

Kat is a person who performed death penalty in middle ages like cutting head by gilotine or cutting hands for theft. So u kata means at that executors house.
Wow, I view that pub in a whole new light now. That's really interesting, thank you for sharing!
Perfect video, just please, next time...we don´t eat dumplings with hands, its not indian food. :))))
Thanks so much 😄 that goulash was so good we were trying to eat every last bit of it 🤤
How do we learn Czech language sounds nice ?!
I'm not sure how, perhaps finding someone to teach you online? 🤓
Hladinka, best way to serve a beer. The head protects the beer. You can wonder about it, when it lasts and creates rings on the glass. A beer with a creamy hladinka head, what a sight.
👍🙏🇩🇪
🥳🥳🥳
The excess foam is a waste unless you wish to drink the beer at an insanely slow pace.
You definitely have a point 😅
@@SarahandMarek the foam is to prevent the beer from oxidising. That doesn't happen unless you sip on it all day long :D
@@SarahandMarek no
(9:11) Maybe a Budweiser beer? The other fampus Czech beer? This has nothing to do with American Budweiser.Sorry, this industrially produced beer is an insult to all beer connoisseurs in the world. If you got a Czech Budweiser it has a more malty taste, not so bitter than Pilsner- - Cheers, Heinz
(14;25) Maybe that is a Budweiser beer.
I read something about the story behind Budweiser and didnt really believe it at first so thank you for clearing that up for me 😄 haha but i honestly have no idea, it was quite an experience to read the menu but we still loved the day of drinking beer 🥳
Doesn`t the presenter of this programme have a stunning resemblance with former Czech football player *Thomás Ujfalusi* ?
The people there can now live without facemask but here in the Philippines it's still all about business !!!
Hey Benjamin! 😄 So sorry for the late reply! 😱 how do you feel about having to wear facemasks? Its the same for us in South Africa as well 🙈
6:06 every Czech person tears his/her hair out.
Woops 😂 What did we do wrong?
@@SarahandMarek You NEVER touch your dumplings or grab them by your hand. :D You use your fork and knife to slice them and them soak them in sauce, but always with fork. :D But I actually saw many foreigners to do use their hands, it's funny, but also superweird for us Czechs to see that. :D
Hasn't anyone noticed that the ratings keep going up as you drink more beer?
Maybe this beer review is correlated more to intoxication.
You will need to go back and re-review the establishments in reverse order to confirm (or refute) your initial findings.
You have a very good point 😂😂 all I can say is that I stopped drinking beer (aside from a sip or two of Marek's) after the first restaurant and Marek is a tank, who knows how many beers he can drink before he starts to feel the effects 😅 I wouldn't be opposed to doing this day all over again though... you know, in the interest of being sure our findings were correct 😉
@@SarahandMarek Thanks for the fun video.
Kozel = He Goat
I didn't know that!? Is it Czech?
Gatbage
Sorry but you don’t eat with a knife in South Africa???😂
Hahaha the food was so good that we HAD to get every last drop! 😆 thank you so much for watching 🥳
She did not finish that maybe he did but probably not. Lol
Jen by mne zajímalo co pijí za "břečky", když dají Plzni takové hodnocení 👎
Aha Kozla😂
A zakončil to Gambrinus ...král břeček ,už chápu😯
Why don't you use a knife to cut the dumplings? Very uncomfortable to watch 🤒 and easy to transfer covid virus into your food.
Za to braní knedlíku do ruky bych vraždil.
Ale oni to ve své zemi neznají, tak jim to musíme odpustit a brát to tak, že je to naše národní jídlo.
