I can’t wait for your Central Park infinite balcony review. It looks like Royal gave the Icon Central Park the peace that’s missing from Oasis class. You had that tv and we had screaming loud pool/live band on Harmony. That infinite balcony looks pretty cool!
The wait is over! ua-cam.com/video/Z0qb0D0MlTY/v-deo.html So, during the day Central Park isn't as quiet as I might like, BUT, at night it's amazing, especially with the jazz club there, and the windows insulate sound impressively well, as you'll see in the room tour.
Was so nice meeting you and your wife on ship. I enjoyed gabbing with her in the 1400 bar while you were out smooching. Just a comment, one thing that RC and Icon gets a bad rap for is size (and cost). Nay-sayers jump up that # of people higher and higher . You said 10,000 in your opening. I think the official number (and I know that number can increase), is 7960 with crew. You’re a guy who can influence the crowd. And I must include, the crew by no means are all out and about making it more crowded. Keep up the great work you two. I love your entertainment
Hey there! Thanks for hanging out (and for keeping Lari company while I was off socializing 🤭). Some laud large ships, other lambast them. I suppose some feel that's more fun that just appreciating something for being remarkable and deciding whether or not it's for them. Either way, and to the spirit of your point, accuracy does matter. While we often round figures, I always aim to get accurate numbers out there. In the case of Icon, the max occupancy (where all berths are full), is 7600. You may also see noted a capacity of 5610 - which is where only the lower berths are full. Put differently, the 5610 number is where each room only has two people in it (or one, in the case of solo rooms), whereas the 7600 figure means every room is full to it's max capacity (or as close as possible while still ensuring enough space in life boats and such). Those figures are just guests. Icon also carries 2350 crew. So, at all berths, plus crew, that's 9950. Now, is it likely to hit that number? Probably not - between no shows and rooms not at full capacity. During times when school is out, however, is when you'll see it highest, since most frequently, the 3rd and 4th guests in rooms are kids. It's similarly uncommon that a ship like Icon will sail with fewer than 5610, because aside from some rooms being out of commission for repairs or similar matters, and a no-show or two, all those rooms will be occupied - and there will almost always be some with 3rd and 4th guests. Actually, our sailing (and the current) are the outliers, as Royal capped capacity to ~5500 on the maiden, and they're quickly increasing that each sailing. This was simply to given them the opportunity to ensure they've got a well-running machine. Let us know if that clarifies things...or if I said something else that was way off - I definitely make mistakes, and when I do, I want to be sure to correct them! Thanks!
Well said and great explanation. A great thorough explanation. I stand corrected on my numbers. I’ll be on Icon again in August with my 8 yr old grandson and I’ll probably experience that max or close to max sailing. I’ll get back to you on how we felt. Thanks again.
We made a reservation a week ago or so ago. They weren't checking at the door (though we showed up just before show time). It was full though - so come early!
She's definitely a beast. I'm going to be curious to compare my step count from the Wonder maiden and this maiden. So far, however, we've seen some areas that seem like "home base", so maybe we won't wander too much :-)

@@CruiseHabit Definitely a great cabin design! Royal scored on this one. I hope they’ll make food improvements as well.
Aqua action looks amazing!! Will you go to see the wizard of oz production?
Yep! We've got it booked for later this week.
Nice!!! Can’t wait to sail on the icon in April!! Thanks for the preview!
Hope you enjoy it! Maybe you'll see us onboard, we've gotta investigate what changes over time. For research, of course. 😏

Were you able to make a reservation for the aqua show?

Cruise Habit’s videos are so chill and that’s what I love to see.
Nice photography, much better than the vast number of cruiser UA-cam channels.
Thanks so much. We try, though this one was a bit hurried given the frenzy of activity on Icon :-)
Looks gorgeous but the size… as much as I love the Oasis class I was glad to get off Wonder. This might be too much!

Wonderful vlog, Billy! Hope you both have an absolute blast!💥 😊
Loving every moment so far!
Can’t wait for more videos!!!
