We used to have latrines like that also in Europe. A long time ago. But we still had them in our cottages in the mountains when I was a little girl. I am 65. They were a little different. Like a seat that you sat on, with a hole in it. The shit collected under. When it was full, some unfortunate person dug it out 😂
