  • Using resin for the first time... Part 1. Sound on because there are no subtitles, but also read the following for more about the new series and why I want to use resin. Part 2 & 3 will follow (check playlist "in the studio").
I've never used resin before because I always thought that in most cases it is superfluous if a painting is really good. At least with my kind of work, there are also works in which the resin is part of the style. As I said, I haven't always found it really suitable for me.
But now I would like to start a new series, inspired by the last monochrome works. However, I imagine the works from this series small but rough and full of character with rather reserved colors. And I think that the "fancy" resin can create an amazing contrast to this style. So today it's the first resin test with a little painting that doesn't belong to the series. I finished it some days ago and have not varnished it yet. I would have used a glossy varnish for it, but I think that resin will look great here too so I selected this for the first attempt.
