I dont mind it as long as the blade is long & heavy enough to actually make use of it in a back cut. Yelmen were pretty standard on swords like the ottoman turkish Kilic for example. Obviously the yelman has to be sharp for that though.
At first Donnie I saw the thumbnail and I thought it was one of them cheapo harpoon tip blades from an outdoor & camping store, but you have proven me wrong sir, it can knife Lol.
Definetely a decent camp knife(good for those wanting a Buck 119 that's more custom looking and just as good quality at a better price), but i'm with you on the harpoon style. No go! Great video and demo brother!😎👍
I am with you about a harpoon knife just like a finger choil on a huge knife but as long as folks like it they are in the business to sell the most knives....Also, when you have finger grooves for the handle that works well if your hand melts into it...I do like that it does not have a finger choil and very nice affordable offering that should do well....Good stuff...
@@DonnieBAllDayit was a tough decision but the 59.00 price tag on the ZF9 and your video help me do my decision, I agree with you the harpoon look is weird. 😆
Don't know, the color brass then silver pommel choices, not esthetically cool, I like your hat though, tried to pull that off, but I can't 😅...the knife definitely works well though
Im going to buy a knife i saw gorgeous knife, i do prefer function compare to looks, i hope it works as good as it looks, the knife is a Bowie knife Full tang knife Three pins on handle Ram horn stag handles 12 inch blade 3 inches width Quarter inch thick Stainless steel knife Four fourty c steel This isn't a knife i need but it is a knife i can not pass up I don't have a fondness for harpoon knives, not my kind of knife, God bless everyone
I'm neither here nor there on a harpoon blade I can take em or leave em but that seems like a good blade 💯 in other words I wouldn't turn it away hahaha hahaha 🤣
@@daniel51404 If you use a sharpening rod every time you use you're a knife, then it should always stay sharp. When i'm done with a blade, I generally give it maybe six swipes on each side, and it's good to go.

I pulled the trigger on this Bowie knife it was either the ESEE6 or the ZF9.
2 very different knives but you were choosing two companies that stand behind their product more than any others

440C is easy to field sharpen. I just use a sharpening rod for kitchen knives
@@DonnieBAllDay Thanks for the tip! I really appreciate it. How many times per year you should sharpen a knife? I am new to knife collection.
