- Today I head down to Larcomar in Miraflores (Lima) to watch the fireworks as the new year approaches!
Lima doesn't have an official government fireworks display, so the locals have taken it amongst themselves to set them off from pretty much anywhere!

The Larcomar is a shopping center in the Miraflores district of Lima, Peru owned by Chilean company Parque Arauco S.A. It was opened on 27 November 1998. It is frequently visited by international tourists, as well as by locals from Miraflores and other parts of Lima.

Este año habido muy pocos fuegos artificiales, porque justamente se esta pasando una mala coyuntura política, la gente esta sin mucho entusiasmo.
Aparte de la coyuntura política, esta bien que cada vez disminuyan los fuegos artificiales, todo en beneficio del medio ambiente y los animales🤗

We don't have an official fireworks exhibition from the government. Some Peruvian people take care of themselves when it is about fireworks, because they want to avoid some tragedy, it's kind of boring but they celebrate in a party with their family, drinking wine, pisco, beer or sparkling. That's the most important to us, to celebrate with family. Greetings from Lima.

las zonas de lima con edificios y condominios son limitadas la utilización de fuegos artificales debes irte al centro de lima a chorrollos donde hay mas libertad ya q es mas abierto y no hay muchos edificios . En todo el peru se revientan fuergas artuficales he visto videos en arequipa , Tacna , etc pero hay distritos q se limita el uso pero no se prohibe

@@s34nvideos I think that in these times, fireworks have dropped a lot in places where there is awareness about caring for pets at home, many of them die that day from heart attacks.

Nice! I have a flight booked to Lima January 11th of this year. The plan was to backpack around the country for 3 weeks. Is this possible given the current political situation?
A lot of the areas are safe.
There are a lot of police guarding key government buildings in Lima Central and also statues. So its hard to access the middle of the main squares for example.
However, I don't recommend Cusco right now. They are having a lot of problems. Trains have suspended and the protests are stronger out there.
As for other places like the jungle area, I have no idea. Sorry

Lamentablemente, Stonehenge ahora es muy turístico y también caro (es propiedad de una empresa privada y se volvieron muy codiciosos). La Calzada del Gigante es increíble... pero ¿¡Druidas en Gales!? ¡ja ja! Definitivamente lejos de la realidad! ¡Lo único que crees que encontrarás en Gales es un montón de ovejas! ¡ja ja!

If you want to see fireworks go to other district. Miraflores is where most posers go, btw is safest place u can walk any hour. Enjoy Lima.
Where do you recommend? I'm not a poser, but I figured that Miraflores has a high vantage point for looking at the fireworks from the cliff top. I think it was a good decision.

I thought it was pretty good. Would have loved Rimac/Chorillos mountain or something (Although you can see Chorillos from this view, so it brings me back to my original point about it being not bad.)
