Professor Emin Gün Sirer says he ‘professes’ as it is the natural responsibility of a professor. This means that, using his expertise, he makes predictions, which takes confidence and guts. He embodies the true spirit of a professor.
I applaud them for their quality work. I wish the AVA Labs team the best on their path forward. The potential of blockchain technology to revolutionize our world for the benefit of all humanity is immense.
Solana is not only a single chain but also needs a lot of hardware power to function. Pretty much like a souped up car on NOX that eventually explodes, e.g., comparing Porsche with an old Honda, where you put all the quickie hand-made incompatible adjustments to make it faster and it goes out of control on the race path while the chassis cracks under the pressure of NOX.

Why did Avalanche halt a few weeks ago?
First time I heard the chain was halted in comparaison with Solana halting once per month.

@@vbnwo doesn't scale when the network actually has to process tx's, back a couple weeks ago I was trying to use avax defi (joe) and the fees were out of wack

The arrogance of this guy is unprecedented. He just said he developed something called Karma, and a couple of years later Satoshi took from it and built Bitcoin.

He doesn’t sound trustworthy. He claims that Avalanche is the ONLY consensus protocol where validators don’t need to talk to every other validator. He was very clear and emphatic on this point. What about Algorand?
How can I trust him about the things I can’t verify when he says things I can verify as false?

@@vbnwo I'm not a fan of Algorand over Avalanche. I'm simply using it as the first example that came to mind of a non-all-to-all protocol (and again if I'm wrong, please correct me). If this is correct, then I know I shouldn't trust anything that comes out of his mouth about Avalanche being the best at this or that, because he's willing to lie. That doesn't mean that Avalanche is trash, or that everything he says is false. It just means that he's not trustworthy.
Everything you said about Algorand is a non sequitur in the context of my original comment, since I'm not comparing the merits of the two chains.

Emin doesn't count that part on protocols that don't even have a decent amount of validators to call them decentralized. It's out of the Blockchain "race" for him. Just that.
