My dad is a 21 year veteran. He spent 13 years in the Marines and 8 in the Navy. He fought in the Golf War and after 9/11 he was deployed overseas multiple times and very narrowly escaped death too many times. He suffers from PTSD from the losses of his brothers over there and from experiences he had, some of them over 20 years ago and he still has dark days because of it. These men and women, people I’ve also called brothers and sisters from my time serving, are the very definition of superheroes. God Bless them all.

My dad served in the military and he was shot out of a helicopter in battle and I never once heard him complain or let it get him down .... we lost contact over the years ( long story) and I recently went to see him ( first time in almost 10 years) his gf told me before I saw him that he was suffering from ptsd really bad from his time in service and how he has changed .... and I broke down after I had seen him on my way home because the man I had just seen wasn’t the same man I remember growing up ...and yet there stood this strong yet broken soul .. he hid his ptsd really good from us .. and it caught up to him ....... I’ll be forever great full to any and all who serve to protect us ❤️❤️😁

Wow... God Bless your father. I wish I could thank him for his service, and I would like to thank you for yours, because even though you weren't in, your life changed because of it. Thank you. Much love to ya.

Birdman's Place it’s so true that you don’t ever see the ptsd in someone and it can and will catch up to you at some point .... my dad never really spoke of the time he served ( he told me when I asked about his scar) he wouldn’t go into detail which I respected and still do .... I wasn’t even born when he was serving ( I was born in 89) .. fast forward untill about 2017 and I’m in another state caring for disabled adults in there homes and I’m with my individual ( I can’t give to much detail because of privacy) but as I’m with them , there brother walked in and was so incredibly sweet and kind and we began to talk ( again due to privacy stuff I can’t say his rank and all of that) but anyhow I realized my dad served along side him and it was soo incredible to think about that .... that these two at one point where soldiers fighting together .. who had no clue that in 15+ years time ... ones daughter would be caring for the others sibling ... this world is incredibly small and I’m sooo beyond great full and feel honored to be caring for his family member because without him and my dad and those who have served and are serving .. we wouldn’t be where we are now 🥰🥰❤️

The ‘put it on, but can’t take it off’ is very true for most. If the Army really needed me back, I’d go. Most join out of a sense of duty, not to be cool, or a bonus, or whatever. There’s exceptions, but you never really stop.

a young man I love very much suffers from PTSD. Right now he's a new father and has wife he adores and a job he likes so he's good, but it' s not always good. he's lost many of his military buddies to suicide. I worry about him every day

No one knows the sacrifices that military men and women make. We leave our families and we make plans for what happens when we don't come home. We write letters to be delivered if we don't make it home. We live with scars our wives, kids, and families never understand. When you have been to a war zone, and seen what we have seen, you are forever changed.

Yes I Agree That We Need To Thank Everybody That’s Still Working During This Pandemic But These Soldiers Still Deserve It More Than The Other Workers Do And It Almost Seems Like Some Of Us Forget About That With This Pandemic While It Is Very Scary Our Soldiers Have Faced Fears Far More Than We Do Now For Alot Longer Than We Have Ever Since The First War And Now It’s Even Worse On Them With What We’re Facing As A World And Believe It Or Not Fact Remains There Are Two More That Deserve Even More Thanks Than Them And That’s Our Lord And Savior Jesus Christ And God Our Father. They Are The Only Two Worthy Of Our Praise Because Glory To God Without Them We Wouldn’t Have Ever Existed Let Along Have A Way To Be Saved Through The Blood Of Jesus Christ And Without Them We Would Have No Chance Of Getting Through The Spanish Flu Back A Hundred Years Ago Back In 1920 Or This Coronavirus Now Amen

So many people think that to have PTSD, you either have to have served in the military or, if your a woman, to have been raped. I have PTSD and NEITHER is the cause. And when I explain that, so many ignorant fools think I'm making up having PTSD. Bullying can cause PTSD and childhood bullying was a part of my PTSD but not what kicked it into high gear. PTSD caused by childhood bullying is why there are so many teenage suicides because of bullying

6:20 When you said that you hear people say stuff about the war. I thought that you should really react to "Have You Forgotten" (song about war and the reason we went to it.) I don't want to ruin it by explaining it to much, but I really think you should react to it. Followed by Boatlift - untold 9/11 tale of resilience (many do not know about this part.)
