Yes... the grey Hulk was originally what Stan Lee felt was more appropriate, as the Hulk was originally something of a "horror monster/superhero hybrid concept... Lee believed grey was appropriate due to him also being born out of radiation exposure. He was changed to green by the second issue due to the printer not keeping the coloring of the grey consistent, and Lee arbitrarily determining none of his other concerned superheroes as yet were green in color.
