I wonder if the Prof was subtly alluding to the so-called certainty of religion in which Somali's see themselves as superior, as though it's a contest of the most righteous. Although, objectivity, every Somali in every clan is as worse as the next one. Perhaps the moral delusion of religion is what has corrupted Somali's. If we consider the terrorist groups in Somalia, they act as an ideologically (Islam) driven political force. During Barre's regime, society was a collective based on Somali principles and traditions. Somalia is at war with itself as it tries to find who wins the battle of ideology and politics.
