On Saturday, May 30th, Falcon 9 successfully launched Crew Dragon’s second demonstration (Demo-2) mission from Launch Complex 39A (LC-39A) at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This test flight with NASA astronauts Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley on board the Dragon spacecraft initiated the return of human spaceflight to the United States.
Demo-2 is the final major test for SpaceX’s human spaceflight system to be certified by NASA for operational crew missions to and from the International Space Station. With this launch, SpaceX helped initiate the return of human spaceflight to the United States with one of the safest, most advanced systems ever built. NASA’s Commercial Crew Program is a turning point for America’s future in space exploration that lays the groundwork for future missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. - Наука та технологія
1:14:02 Don’t you hate it when your iPad’s screen doesn’t rotate in space
Hahahhah
this is gonna be a problem for us in the future
Omg that’s true! The gyroscope doesn’t work in space or does it? 🤣

We’ll have to turn them manually, lol

5:09:50- highlights lasting until repeat of media event at 5:30:55
6:20:20- overview of 19 hour flight schedule
After all of this it’s a lot of repeating of earlier event highlights. I may have missed some stuff I did just watch this 12 hour video in like 45 mins
"Outside view of capsule" is a view of station, not Dragon.
Wording was confusing so I wanted to clarify.

Wow gracias amigo
👑
@Tom k Thanks a lot - you stepped in when SpaceX missed - time step
may be you can do some also on...
..." I still love you " ???
Amidst the chaos of riots, dragon gives us a bright light within the darkness to look up to........
Hopefully taking away qualified immunity will be another light in the darkness.
Sunder them John Raden!
7:33:00 Lets light this candle 👍
At this point in the livestream it was a repeat.
Alan Shepard
I've been following spacex since 2013 with the first falcon 9 landing attempt.. I've been waiting for this moment since forever!!
All that time? You must be really young. I can't believe how quickly this is all happening!
UA-cam: How long the transmission will be ?
SpaceX : Yes
Can't wait to see them livestreaming Starship's first flight
huh?
Only a matter of time. It's truly going to be a sight to see.
When are they launching the starships?
@@hippo3043 Starship, the much larger rocket that might take humans to Mars. This is Dragon.
@@fortnitegod502 We don't have dates yet, but hopefully SN5 will do a 150m hop this month.
Doctor: You only have 12 hours to live.
Me:
Now i finally know how my grandparents felt. LIFE COMPLETE
I will now count to 3 and then I am still the unprettiest UA-camr of all time. 1...2...3. Btw I have two very hot girlfriends. Thank you for your attention, dear sr2gan
If you reference it to moon landing, I don't think we come close to what they felt that day.
PleaseBeHappy Just East until Mars 🤷🏻♂️ the moon is a small step compared to exploring other planets and solar systems one day. I’m ready for them to build the moon base already I’d rather spend $700+B a year for space research/advancement than war.
@@BakuganBrawler211 Moon Base Alpha, but with more scientists and less John Madden
Товарищ Сильвио Yes 😂 I remember that game it was pretty cool but man imagine how much better the real life thing will be 💯 plus they have “Space Force” which just released and its got my moon itch going 🤣 The moon should have a low G hospital one day to help people who are weak build strength 🤷🏻♂️ so much can be done if we just go for it and stop waiting for the next generation!
This is going down in history everyone
Every second of everyones life is going down history (pa dum tss)
I can’t wait until the SpaceX livestream of the first Starship with the first people to Mars
That will be crazy. It feels like it shouldn't be confined to just a livestream but made mandatory viewing for all!
Imagine the amount of people that will be watching.. Crew Dragon had almost 10 million viewers live on NASA and SpaceX's channels combined. I think the first Mars launch will have at least 10x that, not counting all the TV channels that will be broadcasting
You’ll have to wait though
Well, that's a good ten to fifteen years away, but, yeah.
Would love a live stream looking out ISS with the music like at 5:57:05. That sun going over horizon is amazing; it doesn't get old.
When there wasn't something else going on at NASA, they used to do that on their channel. Last I heard, though, the camera stopped working and no one had fixed the thing.
You can find recorded footage of that on NASA's website, though! Just go to nasa.gov, click NASA TV, and follow the Space Station Earth Views link.
I agree
Reminds me of ksp
first time i hear that, i through it is from nasa tv , but it is not. This is a Test Shot Starfish's new album Music for space sleep. (SpaceX live coverage used music from this artist in every coverage including Demo-1)
And yet people still think the earth is flat
I'm gonna be watching this every single day.
Amazing. It was 1981 - The last time flight test pilots assessed a new US human rated space flight vehicle. Bob and Doug, doing the same once again for all of us. Thank you for your role in 2020, moving us forward.
I'm not first.
But being on SpaceX's notification squad is certainly a plus.
Same!
Yeah you get the free subscriptions of seeing history being made 🤭
Ikr
I would like to see the in cabin view during the launch to see how the ride went.
7:39:28
Doug: “We did it, brah!!”
Bob: “yah boiiiiii”
It's always fascinating when I see the ISS passes over my house, but now it's even more magical when you think about this new era.
It's great when I can see it in London. It is very hard to see it due to all the light pollution and general pollution which makes it hard to see. I hope one day to live somewhere where I can see the ISS easier (this requires the ISS to still be in orbit when I grow up).
You cant see the iss at night Its behind earth and does not reflect sunlight. Grow up.
@@gmailaccount1894 So you believe that you can never see the ISS because of this? What are you trying to prove?
Just wait for it to pass over you during evening lmao
Its unbelievable how far we've come in 9 years but still is not close to the amount we will advance within the next 5 years witch will be a much greater rate then ever before!!!
I'm looking forward to the year 2024.
Moore's law my friend, I just wished it applied to space travel.
@@TheBlazingRiver Moore's law is a huge reason for the improvement in design and manufacturing software, research and development, automation including space flight, simulation and modelling leading to better designs, and general scientific and engineering progress. All of that applies strongly to SpaceX and Tesla, and really anyone using high technology well.
@@LoanwordEggcorn Yes I'm an engineer, and I know what Moore's law is. I should have specified, sure Moore's law is in effect, but reaping the rewards it offers has long been inhibited by politics and the underfunding of NASA
Thanks fir the description for letting us know the docking video is encoding!
These guys were quick to fix the issue that UA-cam had with the original Livestream.
love watching these 10+ hours videos
youtube must be having quite the time transcoding all this footage
Hey Google: What does transcoding mean?
edthe2nd idk
@@Avaxar I mean if we assume that youtube has a streaming format and a recording format then they technically are transcoding it. But there probably is a proper term for this process of taking the stream and reuploading it as a proper video
@@dimensional7915 did you say that because it's 11 hours long? Or because of the difference in formats? Thanks.
@@zm453 I said it mostly due to the length of the video but it also could be the format as well. cause now that I'm looking back at it, SpaceX may have recorded the stream at the same time and chopped it up into 3 videos and reuploaded them. whatever way they did it, youtube still takes forever to upload and publish long videos like this at full resolution
Thanks so much SpaceX!
Spacex making history!!!
Was listening to Houston, We Have A podcast for quite a while and am I big fan of NASA Podcast therefore I'm especially delighted to see Gary Jordan covering in part with the other colleagues of his the entire process! Add astra, comrades! Love and Respect from Russia!
mom:"just one video before bed"
me:"okay mom"
I cannot wait to watch the flight to mars. Imagine how terrifying it will be at the half way mark knowing you cannot turn back and if anything happens you’re a goner in space with no one ever able to find you.
The men and women we hear in this are incredibly articulate and well spoken. They are an excellent team to narrate the events.
An exciting mission
6:32:46 *I've never seen real life astronauts with real life ninjas before*
That is awesome!
Amazing job SpaceX! Keep inspiring us towards a brighter future
Parece um sonho!
Eu aqui no Brasil tendo a oportunidade de ver o que está acontecendo nestes locais. É lindo ver isso.
I remember watching the Columbia touch down for the first time when I was 4. This was even better! Congrats SpaceX, and thank you for getting us away from Russian dependence!!!
É simplesmente maravilhoso!!!
Great job Spacex

Amazing stuff i absolutely love it ❤👍
Good job SpaceX!
Wow. Space X basically got 1 Million new subs in 2 days, and I am pretty sure the livestream was the most viewed in youtube history!
At countdown, it peaked 4.5 million viewers
Great job NASA / SpaceX!
Es simplemente maravilloso !!!! ver El esfuerzo, la dedicación de cada uno de ustedes, para lograr cosas tan importantes para un futuro mejor. 😊
Godspeed SpaceX
Amazing!
SpaceX: launches rocket to space
Flat Earthers: ITS EDITTED
Edited...edited...hmm...that gives me an idea, I'm gonna edit the part where they dock to ISS and put Interstellar music over it 🤣🤣 it's gonna be awesome!
spaceX launch never gets exciting without this Girl's voice... crystal clear voice which helps me to listen everything without the help of subtitles
LOVED IT

Astronauts flying to space on crew dragon should be called Dragon Riders
Epic
Any chance you can upload the video of INSIDE Dragon during lift off until Second Stage separation? Please?
