The middle and late 1980s for me were Commodore years. Got a VIC-20 for my birthday in 1984 and then a Commodore 64 in the summer of 1986. They were *supposed* to be for school. Yeah. Right. I had a ton of games for both. The C64, especially, was great for games. Arcade ports, original titles, action, sports, RPGs, you name it. Sure, it was annoying at times to wait for the tape drive to load or to type LOAD "*",8,1 to load a game from the floppy disc drive, but the games were fun to play and closer to the arcade than I ever got with my grandmother's Atari VCS. Loved the episode, guys-- always makes me day to see new ones posted. Thanks for the continued hard work!
@ Peter Skerritt I got my C64 in 1985, after playing the computer at a friend's house. I was immediately hooked. I was at a Game Over store in Ft. Worth last week. I had picked up an Atari Lynx title and the manager started chatting it up about how he and a couple of friends had a blast playing the Atari 2600. He then started talking about a C64 that he had picked up for $50 at a local convention. He showed the box to me in the back of the store. He not only had a C64, he had a very collectible C64c setup that was boxed up in a much larger box with the disk drive. It was called the Pilot edition, or something like that, so I decided to look it up (after the visit) and could only find that setup from Germany. It had the original retail sticker on it with a price of $299. I helped him set it up, to test the computer, and played a couple of games on it. I asked him how much he was going to sell it for and he told me that he would have to get a price from corporate. I gave the dude a business card and asked if would call me once he got a price. The jackass told me that he couldn't call me to give a price, but I could call back in a couple of weeks. He couldn't throw me a solid, even though I had helped him test the setup. Total BS, if you ask me.
My dad who had recently divorced my mother in 82 got my sister who is 5 years older then myself a VIC-20 in 82 after our mother had bought her an intellevision(both buttering her up the divorce), but she never really played them so as I got older they defaulted to me, and around mid 86 my now late uncle gave me a Commodore 64 as he belonged to a Commodore users group, and would repair broken units, and almost always had spare floppy drives, and what not he, got off people cheap, and by late 87 I was on Q-Link, and I was totally hooked, and to this day it's been my favorite system. :-)
@Luzur I played around with my Amiga 500 (1Meg) a couple of weeks ago. I set my 1084s monitor on the top of my desk and placed the computer on my computer tray. I probably have about 40 games (30 legit) for the computer.
Soon as they look up ebay prices on the spot, I'm usually already checked out and not interested. If they give me ebay prices, I'll just buy it off ebay.
Ex-ACTLY. I'll even tell them, "Look, I can get this on eBay right now for that price, and I have buyer protection on that. I'm protected, and you make nothing, OR, we can work a deal, and you make your money." ...or I leave. LMAO
It is crazy that they wait until someone asks about their product before researching the price. The time for research is not when someone asks to buy something.
Greetings from across the pond. Great show, This is the sort of production quality that should have its time slot on the TV. Only started watching a couple episodes back. Was recommended this channel by a variety of different youtubers who all made the same comment: 'why are these guys NOT huge on UA-cam ?! ' With content like this it's only a matter of time! Thanks guys
Billy dancing during Jay's interview at 18:33 lmfao. Been watching you guys since the beginning. I never post comments, but thank you guys for the entertainment over the years. (already set for getting season 4 lol)
I'd be down for watching that, since he has a complete US N64 set. I recently found a few GameCube memory cards at my local Goodwill for super cheap, and while I did not film it, I did something similar where I played the save files on the cards for the games I do own, and it honestly turned out interesting to see parts of Super Mario Sunshine I had never completed(mainly do to time, and attention span).
He's not making a Bad request. I don't think people should get ripped off on their stuff, but you should also consider the money, time, and effort it takes to sell things on eBay. Charge less than ebay prices, Thats all I'm asking.
That comment would make some sense if I'd sell stuff on a flea market. And I never would sell stuff for ebay prices on a flea market. If I would feel I could not give up my stuff cheap there I would rather not put them out for sale at all. The guy who looked up the price was pretty much fine compared to people I know who offered some games on such flea markets.
Weird Paul's t-shirt!! - once again Melvor shows that he not only is the brains of the operation but also has style and class! You should invite Paul for one of the retropaloozas!
I know this is an odd request but is there anyway we can see the raw footage of the intro with the green screen. I think it'd be hilarious to see them doing ninja kicks in the studio
@@TheGameChasers - hey chodes did this ever come out. Like that Shia Lebouf green screen, i could imagine a lot of fun memes where we could put a game chaser kick in.
That big guy's sales technique was a form of cunning entrapment. He tries to get you to lie to him so he can then look it up, and finally awkwardness, or he snaps your neck like a breadstick with his ogre hands. Nice.
I love how you've been using music from MegaMan 8 and MegaMan X4/X5 in some of your episodes. The moment one of X4's last level song came up at 11:54 I immediately started head bangingto it. Still, this was a great episode more and I hope to see you chodes at Retropalooza Houston again!
Am I the only one who loves that they use "One Night in Neo Kobe City" from Snatcher in some of their episodes? Another great Episode from The Game Chasers!
with the quality of your production it is amazing that you haven't been offered a tv contract and how you don't have over 1000000 Subs I don't understand
SNES "Stunt Race"... that brings back memories of playing that with one of my cousins! I kept going off the road and especially the sides of bridges and splashing into the water!
Damn!!! Jay practically stole that dual VS at that price. They easily go for over 1K working around these parts especially if the more rare titles are in it.
Personally I just want to say, who’s ever idea it was to get that sweet b roll footage at 13:03 was on the money. Only used for a quick couple of seconds but I can only imagine how cool it would of been to see driving though that.
I'v been watching you guys since 2014, the first time i found this channel i was taking a break at the library from studying and ended up watching like 20 episodes and skipped my last class. Anyway i just started a youtube channel and would love if you gamechaser viewers could provide feedback of what you like and dont like!!!!!!! thanks for being an awesome community!!!
Well first critisism I´d say if you make 5 minute gaming video and half of it is loading screens that´s not fun to watch. Get a green screen and put your face there maybe? Otherwise keep doing what your doing ;)
Thanks man! I didn't even realize a good portion is a loading screen! I will definitely make a conscious effort to get rid of it and edit it down!!!! Probably will get a green screen eventually gonna have to figure out a way to light it up since my rooms lights are pretty weak. I. am. jealous. In every episode I see 100x more retro games on stores/flee markets in every episode than I see here in Finland at 10 years, literally. And your prices are so low that there I could get 80-100 nes games for what I pay for 10-20 here :D I have been collecting games for about 25 years, I go around flee markets every week(usually 3-4 days/week I check em). But at least I can see how things are in usa, it is like heaven of collector, so I like to watch this and other shows to fill my curiosity and I can just hope that I find few games/year. Also I always find it funny when these guys check some game that costs 4-10$ "oh this is too expensive" :D While that same game/pal version costs 10-20€ if I'm lucky, and this is just common ones. un-common but not rare are from 30 to 100€ easily. Like ducktales loose is 20-30€, werewolf is usually around 50€ and so on. Many times I check ebay and drool for cheap nes games, but shipment + customs can make lot of 100€ to became 150€, but I guess they would still be cheaper than what I can find locally/online. This season has been such an emotional roller coaster. This is 100x better than any shitty reality shows on tv.
noisyturtle American pickers is good.
Billy dancing during Jay's interview at 18:33 lmfao. Been watching you guys since the beginning. I never post comments, but thank you guys for the entertainment over the years. (already set for getting season 4 lol)
I'm thinking Jay's gonna do a kind of Memory Chasers where they play the forgotten save files off memory cards they find in the wild. I'd watch it.
I'd be down for watching that, since he has a complete US N64 set. noisyturtle man that's a fantastic idea
Always a good day when you come home and there's a new Game Chasers Ep!
I hate it when you visit a flea market and people sell games for ebay prices or higher. It is a damn flea market.
if you're willing to sell your stuff for " flea market " prices let me know so I can clean you out
He's not making a Bad request. I don't think people should get ripped off on their stuff, but you should also consider the money, time, and effort it takes to sell things on eBay. Charge less than ebay prices, Thats all I'm asking.

Well dont sell them at fleamarkets then if you want the big bucks.
I don't know who Pat is so this response is hard to reply to.
Looked like Melvor was wearing a shirt with his own face on it.
Scottsquatch lol I was trying to figure out who that dude was on his shirt
Brandon S Weird Paul
Go subscribe to weird Paul!
Dude that vs. arcade cabinet just made my day!! I was ecstatic like Billy was when he got little Samson from Scott!!

Maybe. If we get to 100k by the end of April. J/k Ill do it anyway
Game chasers greenscreen pack would be AWESOME
Fox McCloud wtf dude
This should be good for keying practise. Make a few chodes work for their bacon. By the way, where is Melvore?
@@TheGameChasers - hey chodes did this ever come out. Like that Shia Lebouf green screen, i could imagine a lot of fun memes where we could put a game chaser kick in.
"I've got to be honest. The first time I met the guy, I thought he was a doucher." LOL. Kingsley episodes are gold. Good group dynamic.
That big guy's sales technique was a form of cunning entrapment. He tries to get you to lie to him so he can then look it up, and finally awkwardness, or he snaps your neck like a breadstick with his ogre hands. Nice.
0:52 That's the Jack in the Crack I always stop at when I come into Dallas from I-20! Bacon & cheese potato wedges... man

If he had whipped his phone out to check eBay I'd have walked away and said good luck selling these on eBay
aintnoscrubbb that's what happens when people are too desperate to sell their shite.

You guys are so awesome :D I wish we had many retro game stores here in New Zealand, but we don't.
Idk why I laughed so hard at how he was making that face when you hear that Street Fighter pause theme 🤣🤣🤣
"Stunt race fx. Is a game. It uses the fx chip." You had me at "it's a game."
And here I was just watching old episodes. Yeah new episode!
That sega genesis display case is one of the coolest display's i've seen! 15:33

So THAT'S the "business" Jay was taking care of last episode...well played.
So jealous of that C64 haul, I would kill for a working C64 and floppy drive. Great ep as always!
Will there be a wild dodongo sighting at retropalooza? You boys need to come down to Corpus Christi sometime

16:26, is Kingsley holding a copy of M.A.C.S. (military combat training simulator) for SNES?
Hell yeah, that Weird Paul shirt!
22:02 They were making C64s until freakin 1994!? WHAT!? So you're telling me that C64s and Sega CDs were being manufactured at the same time!?
Bananas.
I'm pretty sure the Russians were trying to make a supercomputer like the U.S. Military did with the PlayStation 3.
Congratulations on reaching 100k subscribers!
This was a good episode. Good stuff guys
Always go early! lol I love you guys
The Commodore 64 was amazing! That was my childhood right there.
I can't wait until you guys hit 100K subscribers. You deserve it :)
Weird Paul shirt FTW.
Still an awesome show after all these years
