My late 2012 i7 2.3ghz Mac Mini (upgraded with 500gb Samsung EVO 850 ssd and 16gb Kingston 1600mhz ram) was bought in 2013, removed from the plastic packaging in 2018 and used until this last week without removing the stock thermal paste. Average temperature was 85˚C lately and I was quite unhappy because of fan noise. I put an original Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut on about 1 hour ago and it's shockingly averaging 65˚C now with the same use routine, 20˚ is quite a lot. I heard about people using fake TG Kryonaut and telling that it's not performing as described, but my experience is totally different. Now let's observe the lifespan.
hey uh so for some reason my 3 clips from the backplate are stuck on the 3 hex 2.0 screws, the 2 on the wifi metal shield thingy and one on the bottom of the mac mini, how do i fix this?

thanks bro this helped although putting the HDD back is a nightmare
i saw someone put tape on it but i managed it by flipping it upside down to guide it
Thank you man, this was crucial for me. How Apple manages to fit about 10 different types of screws into such a compact system is just perverse.
Got the battery changed out and installed the thermal grease since had it apart. Awesome video in a quick formate, thanks a ton!!!

good idea cleaning the fan - wouldn't necessarily do it right above the open machine though 😂
Thank you! It helped me a lot, i just upgraded that old maschine and installed it new with opencore. Muuuuch better! 😙
