We have lots more! Check out my website. Eight books that present how the industry sews for preferred customers, all high-end procedures. All procedures tested with design-room and other professionals who took my continuing-professional education college courses here in Philadelphia. LaurelHoffmann.com

I am 54 and my mother started teaching me to sew by hand at age 4. This is the first time I have ever seen this method. I’m thrilled to see it and it does work. My fingers don’t work as well now that I have acquired a friend named Arthur. (Arthritis) I will be using this to start a line of stitching from now on. THANK YOU!!! You don’t know how much I appreciate it.

Laura, thank you for your comment. It is my determination to provide the world with the professional methods used in industry to produce high-end clothing. Because industry is line assembly most people, even in industry don't know how it all goes. I was privileged in that I was trained in industry by three European master tailors, the top layout artist at Alfred Angelos, and the top grader in Philadelphia. I learned sample making from the sample makers (who sewed entire garments as done in industry) because I asked them to show me.YOU and others like you should have and need this information.

A close friend came up with "Why Knot," when I showed her the technique. I've been using the phrase ever since. :-))

That's a funny one. It does look similar to a button stitch at the end. Very handy.

It was a friend's idea to call the procedure "Why Knot." I loved the phrase and have used it ever since. :-))

Thanks, Terri, for your comment. My son and I plan to make a series of short videos of basic sewing techniques.
