Cracking looking browns, looks a good fishery i might have to give it a go, i like the fact its got a catch and release lake there so you can get a proper days fishing, good vid lads ....
Yes, I think going forward more fisheries should look at having both options available. Lets you enjoy chasing some fish that are a little easier before testing your skills on the wiser fish. Great fun.
Great vid Gareth, I have got my video on the mamba soon, but only had 2 hrs fishing with it. The fish loved it, and this was at a time when the fishing has been very difficult. Looking forward to having a bit more time with it, and will be using it to target the big fish at Hayscastle. Take care mate. Shaun.
@@GarethWilson2k9 if I recal, he hooked the fish but the rod was under his armpit and then proceeded to get caught on his go pro so he couldn't lift the rod higher 😂
Sweet video! Looks like a nice fishery for sure, and I'm eager to tie up some of these Mamba patterns and try them myself. I have a question about these fisheries you guys have in the UK mainly centred around your term "bag up": is that a retention limit, or is that a catch and release limit? We have nothing of the sort out here in BC when it comes to fisheries so it's just so wildly different from what I'm used to but it looks super fun and I would love to have a chance to try private fisheries/clubs/whatever you call these venues!
It all depends on the water. Most Catch and Release fisheries will either limit you to 10 fish or have no limit. Most Catch and Kill fisheries will allow you to purchase as many tickets as you like and often have options for 2 3 and 4 fish tickets. Manningford allows you to kill your first couple of fish then has a separate catch and release pond you can move onto after killing your limit.
Hi mate, going to lechlade and ellerdine at the end of the month. Was wondering whats working well best ways to fish best flies to use? Any tips would be sound. Need to beat my PB! 😂 Thank you
For stalking, I tend to use my 8 foot 4 weight as it allows you in tight places better. It's an Orvis rod though and more like a 5 weight. For everything else, I use a 10 foot 7 weight. Even use the 10 foot for stalking sometimes.
I live one mile away from here, best time to go is when they are stocking up but remember to take lots of money if you want to stay for a while

Great video. What weight rod are you using? I have a 5 weight set up but people keep telling me to get an 7 weight.
