i never understood that i get the choice "kill Edelgard" and "NOPE" obviously i as a "professor" wont kill my student for making a slight rash mistake, i would try to guide her everytime, thats why i cant rlly play theother routes.... its a shame they are damn good in their way, but i am pro edelgard and i am not willing to change that decision that i have made
Literally like five minutes ago I watched a video dissecting the songs lyrics and putting them into context and… this now hits so much harder. Damn it now I’m in tears. This makes FETH the second game ever to make cry.
I've been working nights in a hotel for the past few months, and usually have about one hour to unwind between four and five. So far I've been spending that time repeatedly doing Hades runs, but seeing this pop up on my recommendations makes me want to start up another Black Eagles run. First house I played, did all the other routes, none measured up to that first one (even though it lacked the polish and a satisfying "let's purge Those Who Slither in the Dark" conclusion that the Deers got). Plus the characters are mostly unbalanced in all the best ways (Petra is so dodgy, Eddie's got ungodly strength, Dorothea gets Meteor and some of the saddest voice lines post time skip, and Bernie is Bernie
The first route I ran with was Golden Deer and I thought I'd seen it all. Never had that much of an impression about Edel until I started reading the lore. That was when I was convinced to do a run of CF. It's been years since and I bear to do the other routes because I know that there will be almost no resonance with me. I identify with the political views, the characters and condone the methods within the context to such an extent that I literally can't force myself to play again unless its CF. BE till the end!
I almost always play crimson flower but after compleating blue lion recently... it was just so good... and I always can't decide which to do... Edel was my favorite character before I did that route... now she is second to onlyu Dimitri which I would never have tought... if you haven't you really should do blue lion because its not a game about someone being wrong compared to another.
Yeah thinking of every deeper meaning fucking hurts... With the ending credits's lyrics showing how she basically trusts you to lead the future after she's gone in every route except CF
Whenever I think Edelgard is the one singing it´s so sad. Maybe in 15 years if they remake the game not only will they add another level to properly finish the CF route and beat TWSITD on screen, but also give us some more options to make Edelgard bend her willpower and fixed mindset a bit so she doesn´t kill her childhood friend Dimitri. I just hate we don´t get a route when they get to dance again either unburdened by the destiny and expectations placed on them or having achieved a peaceful Fodlan but not by obliterating the opposing faction and instead focusing on those who kept the status quo for so long.
I actually kinda like that they get a sad ending, it feels right, just the consequences of war, which I feel fits Fire Emblem, stories all about war, it makes sense war will have consequences
@@CrowAkechi_The_Luminary I mean yes it makes sense in the more grounded world of Fodlan, yet it would also feel nice being able to influence the world a bit more than just a decision in the middle of the game (and only if you are playing Crimson Flower) considering it's a videogame at the end of the day. For sad endings I have real life 😂
the game really leans on siding with Edelgard but the story makes you side with Dimitri and honestly i hav no idea why Claud was even in the game. his presence and motivation does absolutetly nothing for the plot of the game. I really do wish that the game offers a real 4th ending where it can only be unlocked after playing all routes and starting over again. I mean the gimick of the protagonist is literal time traveling. a good opportunity for a time alterning choice is that one time Flame emperor ask Byleth to join forces with him after the Remire incident I always feels odd that they even gave byleth a choice to join forces with the flame emperor when it doesn't even matter since she will always refuse regardless if you join her or not.
