No musician in my entire collection has taken me on a more rewarding journey than this guy. It's like he has a window into my mind and just knows my tastes better than I do. It's weird when you create music but you can't create music you like as well as another person can.
This music is divine... Ihsahn is what every artist should aspire to be: someone who, for every song or word he creates, goes a step further into magnificence. This is in my opinion his peak. Also congrats for giving the artwork such honor, it is beautiful and it deserves it all.
@@Ganjamancer Not at all Bullcrap. The last few albums of Opeth have been highly criticized and deservedly so. Sure it's about opinions, but there's a very real consensus that their quality had decreased. Personally I thing In Cauda Venenum is the best album they've put out in a while, but it's still not the same quality that that band used to put out before Heritage.
Ain't that the truth hahaha. This sounds sort of damnation style Opeth, which I loved. I do like some songs of the newer albums but that whole mesmerizing, nostalgic, somber feeling from damnation is not so prevalent in their new work.
I think it sounds a bit more like leprous, which would make a bit more sense considering that he was involved in some of their earlier stuff and Einar (vocalist from leprous) is his brother in law. But I do definitely hear a bit of opeth
Lyrics: Fate Ephemeral bursts of light Sweep across the sky A pulsar in the night Painting dreams and loss Across a sea of hope and lies Silent screams Echo through your eyes It's what you have longed for What you could become Pharos Pharos Pharos Pain Like a fragile fading map It carving out the lies Seeking contours in the black It's what you have longed for (longed for) What you have become (have become) So keep alight the fire (fire) Even when the light is gone Pharos it's what you have longed for (Pharos) what you have become (Pharos) keep alight the fire (Pharos) when the light is gone
Not just me, very FF sounding. When you think about it though final fantasy's soundtracks have always been guitar matched with symphonic. The piano reminds me of the music in Cave dungeons like FFXV
Waow. Just fucking waow. Parts remind me of Steven Wilson, parts Lantlôs, parts Nick Drake, parts modern Fleshgod Apocalypse, parts Dev's newer stuff. What's happening up there in Norway?

No one's gonna talk about the painter? I will. He's some shizzle.
It's Costin man, he's getting some exposure these days...

This is what you write when you love art more than money. Ihsahn cannot be touched.
Ihsahn is versatile, and it makes him a 'complete' musician.
Magnificent, nocturnal, retro, a bit jazzy and with a british touch...love it and I love the old black metal work of Ihsahn. Cheers from Morocco.
This is some incredible song-writing. The dynamic shifts are perfect!
I could say the same thing about your music! I've been jamming out to Colors in the Sun since it came out last year
What a good surprise!
People of all the regions of the world, unite for one talented artist.
He is the Emperor of metal!!
absolutely sounds like opeth crossed with ghost. fucking love it
Abilities are endless as well as the musical rollercoaster he takes you on
Beautiful 😯 my first Ihnsahn song to hear, it is so great!
the later works of Ihsann and Enslaved are the most interesting thing that extreme music has seen in the last decades
For me is a wonderful song and album... I always found great those surprises... Hails from Bogotá, Colombia 🤘🤘🤘
Ihsahn tiene que venir a Colombia, no solo con Emperor si no también a tocar canciones de su repertorio solista.
lml
Truly epic and vivid. Another Masterpiece from the wizard of Telemark!
a breakthrough in mixing and producing
Greetings from Nepal. ❤️

It's different... but it sounds great.

@@drowssapma Their most recent album sounds sonically identical to this, with better vocals.
me gusta la evolucion de ihsahn... de verdad que son de las mejores composiciones que he escuchado este año.
What so powerful prog evolution! Ihsahn reminds me of what efficient and minded musical composition is
I have just stumbled on this channel. I am honestly amazed!!! Ive never heard music like this before my mind is blown🤩🤩🤩
Welcome, welcome :3

Magnificent track 🔥
Thing I want to hear is a collab between Ihsahn and Ulver.
What a banger \../
This song should be James Bond theme song.
that's very beautiful and video fits the song perfectly
OMG is beautiful

amazing work
damn how i love this song!
Stunning song.
Another masterpiece

This is more Opeth than Opeth

this sounds a lot more like Katatonia

It's more Pink Floyd than Opeth or Opeth.
Grandioso...maravilloso...brillante....una pieza maestra....🤘🏻
Always Epic my master 🤘
Great that is new styl by ihsahn i like it

Majestic Tendernesssssssss
Mesmerised by the song and the video
This EP is great so far , we just need to hear the Portishead cover
Michael Jackson's cover soon
@@lommalos I wouldn't be surprised , or Prince
What Portishead song did he cover?

!!!!!!! Amazing
Awesome... Mannn the musicality is insane.... 🙃
Artístico 🖤🔥
Só uma curiosidade Seria um álbum conceitual também?
So beautiful 😳
I know I'm not the first one to notice but it is uncanny how the track sounds like it's been taken straight out of Opeth's repertoire.

Isn’t the piano tune also used similarly in the Freaky Fred episode of courage the cowardly dog?
Nice job opethsahn
amazing
I'll call it. Ihsahn is a Norwegian Devin Townsend. With, dare I say, similar musical career paths.
Lyrics:
Fate
Ephemeral bursts of light
Sweep across the sky
A pulsar in the night
Painting dreams and loss
Across a sea of hope and lies
Silent screams
Echo through your eyes
It's what you have longed for
What you could become
Pharos
Pharos
Pharos
Pain
Like a fragile fading map
It carving out the lies
Seeking contours in the black
It's what you have longed for (longed for)
What you have become (have become)
So keep alight the fire (fire)
Even when the light is gone
Pharos
it's what you have longed for
(Pharos) what you have become
(Pharos) keep alight the fire
(Pharos) when the light is gone
me encante sonido este tema
Sounds very Opetish, and I like it.
Wow,What an influence from opeth
My new lullaby🤘🏻
Awesome
💙💙💙💙💙💙
Now go into emperor vocals...So Funny, such a beautiful soft spoken Norse voice...UNTIL......THUS SPOKE THE NIGHT SPIRIT...
I like the bit where they say Pharos.
This album is killing me.
Man i hear a JRPG in the guitar, i dunno which one though. Either FF6, Chrono Trigger or something else.
Not just me, very FF sounding.

🧠👏🖤🤘😉
Opeth feeling. Very opeth
Wow.
Opeth feel
who is the painter
Costin Chioreanu, the same who does Vulture Industries and Borknagar (Up North) videos, very talented artist
@@BlackChouca his art out of my dictionary to describe very talneted

no.... def progressive.. opeth is accurate.. bt.. not ghost.. lol

great
Lanltôs vibes
Nice
Anyone else getting the radiohead reference or am I just imagining it?
first!
Not my cup of tea, but I do like the bombastic section at the end.
Brilliant. You should do a song with Michael from Opeth
He already did. Check out "Unhealer".
@@Slayer78 thank you so much, I'm an old Emperor fan, who is just now giving his solo work a listen.
From the álbum angL. (2008)
A-ha take on me?
37 people are incorrect
Opeth and Devin Townsend had a Norwegian lovechild?
Spot-on description.
Reminds Steven Wilson a little)
Sounds like A Perfect Circle last album
HAHAHAAHAHHAAHAHHAHAHAHHA
I like Taylor Swift's version a little better.
