Give me a break! Back in 1964 on the Aleutian Island of Shemya, our SAC, Nancy Rae RC-135 crew flew missions over the North Pole to monitor the testing of Russian MREVS (10 per warhead). Spectacular fireworks. I monitored Telemetry. We had the most sophisticated equipment onboard at the time. Pure quartz windows that cost $22,000 each. Our aircraft was valued at $100,000,000 at the time. The most expensive aircraft in the USAF inventory! The year before we arrived, it slide down the runway blowing 10 tires. We had no problems. The next year it slide off the end of the runway and was destroyed.
This one belongs to that very special list of ancient and venerable aircraft that stil have very much do offer more than 60 years after introduced in service, like the B-52, the C-130, the U-2, to name some of them (the F-16 is a senior citizen in the making...!). Very good video.
That's a very good catch!! OPSEC seems to be so outdated these days, eh? After all, America's enemies know pretty much everything there is to know, thanks to the internet AND undisciplined use of cell phones. Well it's really nothing, I'm sure that he's just taking pictures of everyone so that his overseas buddies can update the profiles of everyone for the next time they visit their wonderful country and that they have a wonderful time there. I'm also very sure that his buddies will have the latest photos of the plans and manuals for everything, so that they can edit it and pass it back to him to show that they corrected and edited it for accuracy.
Cell phone? If that was he personel cell phone he would be court martial. Someone had to review this video before it was released you know, and the military uses small portable devices
Actually the Boeing Model 717 was the C-135 airframe, most of this series (717+) were configured as the KC-135A inflight refueling tanker and were fitted with the Boeing Hi-Speed Boom. The Model 717 designation was reused after Boeing acquired McDonnell-Douglas with the 717 being reserved for the DC-9/MD-80 newbuilt airliners.
the satellites have cause the retirement of the magnificent sr71 and are not sending these airplanes into retirement as well ? moreover their huge radar cross section should make them an easy target Am i missing something ?
Remember ;the "Hog Nose" and the "Chipmunk" well. Spent 4 years in Sac including 18 months @ Kadena AB Okinawa with the 4252nd Strat Wing Worked on many of them as an Aircraft machiinist. 1968/1969 and 3 months in 1970
Isn't that the same one that the Air Force recently boasted for having an all-women aircrew of 8 women? and then less than 2 months later it ran off the runway and into the ocean off Hawaii?

Nothing to indicate it was a cell phone.

I believe the crash in Hawaii was USN P8, not a USAF A/C!
A U.S. Navy plane overshot a runway and went into a bay in Hawaii in November '23
