Even video games are no big deal to me. I admire the collections from Metal Jesus Rocks and so forth, but I would hate having them take up so much space. I'm good with emulators and ROMs.

At the end of the day, they're just shoes 👟. Sneakers are like entry level to modern art history. I love phones but I know they're just phones. Will use them the same way even with a different form factor.

This man is actually being paid the highest salary of his career in Philly, on a multi-year contract. He can afford to collect rare shoes that will only increase in value. 🏀
A lot of collections might be a hobby but it also represents hedonism that never truly makes you happy once you feel it's 'complete'. I'd know. I have every I Love Lucy and Gilligan's Island episode and I still want a 20 TB phone to fit everything I have stored digitally for the rest of my life.
Then after I get 20 terabytes, I'd want 100 TB because I want everything on my phone, right? I need to feel complete. Yet, I won't have time to watch or play any of them. Streaming and cloud storage saves space. It's just an endless higher number we keep chasing in our heads.
That’s the art of collecting, it’s for entertainment mostly. Sometimes for foreseeable profit, I collected sports cards for a bit and ended up selling them for far more than I payed for them.
I find a grown man collecting shoes interesting. Not only is it womanly, but come on. You’re grown up. Collecting shoes? Go out and do some real projects.
