Got my Pool Shock for the season in! It's rather inconvenient for me in the 1-pound bags that it's shipped in, so I dump it all into a bucket.
This is bad stuff--do not breathe the fumes, avoid getting it on your skin or clothing, and never get it in your eyes.
On the right day in the summer with the wind just right, this stuff has made my eyes tear, nose run, and makes my skin smell burnt. Avoid the fumes and dust. Whether you put this stuff in a bucket or not, you'll have to deal with it one way or another. I like to empy all of this into the bucket, and use a scoop. My scoop holds almost 1.5 pounds of shock, and has been working well for many years. Now I can simply scoop and go, instead of getting these packets together (which will always have chlorine dust you're going to touch), bring outside, get ready to open and then realize you forgot a scissor or razor blade, only to them root around for that and come back outside as it's already dark out. Save yourself the trouble and do this ahead of time!

Har har, I know that trick. Brake fluid? You better STOP giving people ideas. I'll see myself out...

Not knowing a thing about pools, other than what I've seen on your channel, you've done it all wrong with the shock. Now I'll have to call the shock company, and speak with the manager!
Now in the real world: Having actually swam in this pool, multiple times, it is perfect, the chlorine smell isn't overpowering, and the water doesn't burn my eyes. Just right after a long day of fixing stuff, eating sucky food, getting slimed, and then a brisk walk around the neighborhood.

OK Kyle, you go and do that! I am sure they're just WAITING for your call! (Seriously, that was great!)
Yeah I'd like to think I learned a thing or two over the years! I have different demeanors depending on the day in the series as it goes on, you'll see.
As far as the pool being perfect after all that, it's all right, I know I suck! Gotta start using that line again this year, that was a great line.
