One thing that is interesting in this video are the old trees in that neighborhood. They add so much to a neighborhood. The view from those apartments must be wonderful.
In the 90s, I remember Abruzzi on the boulevard on Clifton, and then it turned intoLochio, which they ended up, tearing down for a video store, or a fitness place. And where the CVS is was a sports bar but before there was the copper lantern, and before that a different restaurant wow memories.
I used to live in Lakewood-on Warren just a little north of 90, and I’ve been to Pier W a few times. This brings back lovely memories. You can almost imagine you’re sitting on the ocean! Anyway, I appreciate these walking videos of the Lakewood/Cleveland area. Thank you.
Nice video of my old neighborhood on Edgewater Drive I lived in Edgewater Towers where I rented condo and I lived in the Lake House condo that I owned . I walked the whole entire area for exercise. Harborview Drive was my favorite Street! Worked at Papa Nicks for a short time a few years and actually supported myself in that small Italian restaurant pizza shop!Wow ,,it’s fun to see what was built and torn down on Clifton
Thx for the video! So much has changed since the early 80's. Always loved Lakewood. Glad to see new homes with the old grand homes on edgewater Dr . Lakewood looks very kept up and clean. Hardly recognize much of it. Can't remember the name of the restaurant that was on the corner of West 117th and Clinton. Was there for years. Now gone. Great vodeo! Thx again! Go Cleveland!
Thank you so much for doing this walk and posting it!! You did an amazing job! Now I'm extra excited about my trip in June! If it's as nice in person as in your video, I'm definitely purchasing a condo! I used your link to try to purchase a Puffer Jacket, but it is Currently unavailable. Do you have any other qualifying purchase links for jackets? Thanks again!
I'm glad you liked the tour around the area! 😇 As for the puffer jacket, the one I linked to is the exact version (and only one) that I've personally worn and can attest to that I've loved it for years. With that said, this version by the same company looks nearly identical; but I'm not certain if there are any differences: amzn.to/45qDztW
@@PokoTraveler Thank you! I will definitely order one! Can I ask you a question? Would you consider Lakewood a safe area? I have read different information about the area and I feel you would know better than most!
@@robertmetler3144 Cleveland is much bigger, but when I go through there (at least on the West Side and Downtown), I know what areas to feel generally safe in, and what areas to be on guard. In Lakewood, for the most part, I feel like it's 100% safe, as if I would never encounter any issue while walking down any street. Now, I'm sure some (residents) who are more familiar with being there every day may have other stories, but it's always seemed safe to me. The further West you go (Rocky River, Westlake), I feel like it gets even safer.
@@PokoTraveler Thank you for your reply! I appreciate your honesty! I look forward to my visit and exploring the area! I will let you know how it goes and I look forward to future videos! Have a great week!
@@robertmetler3144 I lived in Cleveland for 5 years and had many friends in Lakewood. It's one of my favorite neighborhoods and I always found it to be very safe and my friends loved living there. Hope you enjoy Cleveland, I miss it a lot!
Those condos in back of that grocery store Luckys looks nice. It looks like they tore the church down!! I also work at Diana’s ‘s deli for a short time I heard they tore that down by the railroad tracks . I still have friends that live in that area and tell me everything.
I wish you would’ve made a right on Edgewater Drive and walked up 117 so I could see if the church building is still on the left or did they tear that down?
I assume you are referring to this: www.cleveland.com/business/2016/06/look_inside_clevelands_fifth_c.html It was torn down to make way for the Lucky's Market, shops, and townhouses in the background.
@@PokoTraveler as nice as those condos look and Luckys it’s a shame that building came down because it was gorgeous. Although I know it was infested with rats and there was some kind of a gas leak underground from what I heard walking past years ago. I remember seeing the rats.!! I would cut through the parking lot to walk to Papa Nicks where I worked
Thank you Poko, I never knew how beautiful the West side is, born & raised on the East side - Mighty proud 2-B, from God's Greatest secret > Cleveland - John
So nice to see the big old homes and the beautiful trees in the neighborhood.

Ah, nice! I didn't realize this was one of your old neighborhoods. And now I'll definitely have to try Papa Nick's out one day, lol

Go Cleveland!
Like Lakewood planning on going to Rib-fest in downtown CLE next week.
Great video - but you missed showing the most amazing view from the Gold Coast high rises on Lake Erie and the downtown sky line - just WOW!
