- World champion Pecco Bagnaia has committed to two more seasons with the dominant factory Ducati team, meaning he will be a vital member of the team through at least the end of the 2026 season.
What's a little bit different is the question of who his teammate will be.
Ducati will select its second factory team rider for the upcoming season from a list of three riders: Jorge Martin, Marc Marquez, and Enea Bastianini. This decision will be heavily influenced by economic factors, sponsorship, and General Manager Gigi's personal will. Ducati has two MotoGP rounds in 2024 to make a decision.

The biggest question in front of Ducati would be, who they can sign in to fight for the championship against Acosta, who will be in factory KTM squad next year. The best option is undoubtedly MM#93. But, Martin deserves that factory seat more than anyone out there. It's going to be a huge decision to be made!
Marc's menager like: All we want is a factory bike, Marc has more than enough money and 2mil per season is enough for us.
Ducati like: No, we don't want to hurt Pecco's feelings, if we sign Marc and Marc beats Pecco that would be bad for our boy Pecco.
KTM like: OK, we take this guy,move Binder to GasGas and give Marc KTM factory bike.

What a race it was last week, I was on the edge of my seat for most of the race! But Ducati have a problem: three wonderful riders but only two places. Marquez has shown how amazing he is by adapting to the Ducati after so many years at Honda, so I think Marquez should be beside Bagnaia in 2025. Martin? At a second Ducati team, as he is now - even if it can be argued that he deserves a factory seat. Bastiannini? The same, but he's not in the competition.
For my personal opinion and as a biker and a racer for almost 25 years here in the ph🇵🇭 extending the contract of bastianini will be the most advantagous to be a team mate of bagnia i hope ducati squad will not mis interpret there decision.
Marc and Bastianini on Pramac. Jorge on factory team. Morbidelli moves to VR46.
There still a chance to Marc joins Aprilia or KTM, if Gresini switchs to Yamaha (low chance)
I think the best chance of switching to Yamaha is to VR46

Ducati is going to low ball, and one of the 3 will accept, because thats the best bike on the grid. The ones who don't will be on an inferior bike, and the chance of a world championship becomes harder.
MM has already been paid throughout his career, so he might take it, to add another championship.
JM probably wont accept a pay cut to go to the factory team.
EB is left with the crumbs, if the other 2 decline, he'll take the seat.

Marc probably prefers Ducati, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with Aprilia. I can see Marc winning on either bike. If Ducati chooses not to sign Marc, the opportunity cost for them would be to have Marc coming after them in a very capable RS-GP. I doubt either Gigi or Davide would like to see that again having seen Marc destroyed Ducati on the Honda for so many years back in the day, they will have to think very hard before making up their mind on such a critical decision.

Whenever he has a small crash he immediately runs and picks the bike up again. It Jerez this drive goy him points in the sprint.
His passion to win is admirable. That Honda sucked since 2016,17 now its just too far gone.

If Ducati will not get Marquez, they will regret if Marquez chose Aprilla and beat them next year. It’s better to keep Marc on their team than against him…
