Cane masters have a samari cane designed as a two-hander. Works well kendo style.

I have had my canes for over 20 years now and still going strong. They are so good

One more question on Chris's guard here. Obviously most of your techniques are one-handed. How and when would you transition to and from one hand to/from two hands?

Not certain whether this is in reply to my question about parallels with surfski paddling technique, but really like what you're doing here anyway - makes the advantage of the two-hander much clearer.
A followup question: Chris's guard here has his hands fairly close together on the cane, similar to a baseball bat or kendo stick. As a paddler, I'd naively grip much wider. I imagine the wider grip enables a quicker and more powerful if shorter-range strike. But then it might have a lot of disadvantages that, as someone who's not even a beginner martial artist, aren't obvious to me.
Oh, and a totally silly question ... is it wrong of me to compare your banter with the ancient Lancastrian art of Ecky Thump? (non-PC Goodies episode at www.dailymotion.com/video/x6u0reg ...)? Not actually suggesting you don the hats ...
