  • Eric Whitacre & Rezonans, Zorlu Center PSM, 08.11.2014
    Guest Conductor/Konuk Şef: Eric Whitacre
Artistic Director/Sanat Yönetmeni: Burak Onur Erdem
'Geçsin Günler' albümünde İncesaz'a eşlik etti.
Rezonans was formed at the end of 2010 for performing choral music in its highest quality. The ensemble, consisting of experienced choristers, performed in many prestigious venues of Istanbul such as Borusan Music House, Hagia Irene Museum, Austrian Culture Forum, in many choral festivals, and in various cities of Turkey.
Rezonans found the opportunity to work with guest conductors such as Simon Carrington, Volker Hempfling, Klaus-Jürgen Etzold, Qin Huang, Nigel Short, Brady Allred and Paulo Lourenço in choral conducting workshops and international projects.
Rezonans’ repertoire focuses on contemporary music. 20th and 21st century works by Turkish composers constitute an important part of the repertoire. The ensemble premiered two pieces by composers Hasan Uçarsu and Özkan Manav, accomplished another Turkish premiere of Gloria by Kamran Ince, and prepares to bring new Turkish pieces to light.

I watched this performed in Carnegie Hall with a choir of about 300 under the direction of Jeffery L. Ames. I have truly no words to describe it. The best part was at the very end. Nobody clapped. Nobody cheered. The sound just resonated through the hall. It wasn’t until every hand was dropped from their chests and they stood still did the applause begin. It was truly a dream come true to listen to this piece as I never thought I would be able to in all my days.

There's always that one person who thinks it's okay to clap before letting it set in. I hate that. They totally ruin the moment.

Not only thinks it's acceptable or appropriate, but loves to be seen to be the first to clap, because it shows that the fool doing it likes to be seen to know when the music is ending.
Same with the open mouthed coughing that some people in audiences love to do. Pass the socks.

Absolutely breathtaking! You only have to look at Eric's face to see how moved he is by the performance.

I had the incredible experience of performing this piece with the 2022 NAfME honor choir, and it was honestly one of the best moments I’ve ever had in my (albeit short) life. Nothing can ever compare to the feeling of being surrounded by 200 other singers producing the most ethereal harmony on earth. It felt like my soul was transcending from my body onto some other plane of existence. It was the only time I had ever shed tears in a performance.

Such a magical piece. During that choir solo, you start hearing things...like sounds that would just spring out of nowhere. Amazing...

Good to hear a choir with stable voices - music not ruined by the horrible quivering to which people politely refer as "vibrato".

We're going to do this song for our spring concert in march. I'm really nervous. Not only because this is a challenging piece for the choir (not me in particular) but most of the people in my choir are idiots and can't project their voices

There not supposed to be. Bach wrote this song with that ending in mind. Everyone sings at their own pace and it ends when they feel like it. It creates some breathe taking dissonance and has a powerful effect.

    • @lorenamenendez6709

+Kim Kelly but the second part was not written by bach. I don't know who wrote it but it sounds just like knut nystedt "immortal bach"

Komm, süßer Tod, komm selge Ruh adlı Bach'ın eserinin orjinal hali sadece soprano ve buna eşlik eden basso continuo denilen uygun akor diziliminden oluşur. Buradaki versiyonu Rhonda Sandberg'in koral düzenlemesi. Koreografi de şef Edwin London yönetimindeki koreografi. Çok bilmişlik taslamadan önce aç biraz araştır olur mu?
