Nice to see Sean Costello on here, such a nice, knowledgeable and humble guy. His plugins are awesome and his pricing is fair even for struggling college students like me.
valhallas stuff is greatest of all time. Always checking out new verb plugins, always going back to room, plate, and shimmer.
I feel so lucky to have found this channel!!! Absolutely amazing with all the speakers you invite and your tutorials!
Sean undersells ubermod Big time. There's a difference between making a plugin with hundreds of controls that only sounds good if it's set up in very certain ways and making a plugin like ubermod that has many controls but sounds incredible no matter what you do with it. It is easily the highest quality plugin out there. I use it on everything to add stereo to things, slap back for guitar, chorus effects, tape delay, bucket brigade delay, massive reverb, short drum reverb and many many more. It's really rather incredible. It replaced the entire sound toys effect suit and it's only $40.
This guy is awesome. Don't know too much about audio programming but can really tell how knowledgeable he is. Absolutely love all of the Valhalla plugins.
Not sure if you are familiar with Neural DSP (plugin/amp modeler company) but you guys should do an episode with them as well. Their stuff has been making huge waves in the rock, metal, and progressive world (and even funk/jazz now with their latest plugin). Doug Castro is the founder, and also founder of Darkglass Electronics (which makes amps, cabs, pedals, all kinds of other guitar effects devices, as well as plugins of most of their gear). This guy is a legend and they have a big cult following in the prog world; would be awesome to see you guys talk to him and pick his genius brain a bit.
Also thanks for all of the valuable content! I'm a beginner getting into audio programming at a snail's pace but videos like these inspire me to delve deeper.
wow, cool to see Sean has a Schultz Krautrock phaser sat behind him!
Could you guys do a book/article citation section for those interested in reading Sean's references. Would be super helpful for us geeks!
Extremely interesting. The more I listen to Mr Costello, the more I understand what I COULD be listening for in my compositions which make use of Algo reverbs. And that last bit about Convolution Reverb and the test of s new way to derive IR is HIGHLY intriguing. I hear the same resonant quality he describes in some IRcgenerated spaces. They are nice for effect but as Reverbs in the traditionsl scenario, are hard to fit just right with certain material. Brilliant. Thanks for sharing the stream replay
awesome interview
WOT. sean is the man!
Guy is great, thanks for this audio programmer!
@@TheAudioProgrammer may I suggest having magnus from sonic charge? total audio warlock :]
Sean Costello is a god !! ❤
Just installed Vintage Verb and Delay tonight after moving from my PC to a Mac.
I like to make a suggestion to the amazing Dev of Valhalla... could you release your free reverb on ios for 99 cents? the 99 cent would cover the apple costs which i think is 100 dollars a year. As you use the JUCE framework it is practically ported for ios already!
