In nearly 100% of his throws, feet are in throwing position.
His footwork is insane: not only for prepping to throw, but to avoid the ankle tackles.
Such a pleasure to watch a disciplined athlete in action.

The line improved, but we have to give baker some credit for that as well, some of those throws , defenders had clean shot at him, Past Cleveland QB would have been killed and we all be saying line is bad. Baker is so good in the pocket its insane to me.

Vincent Urteaga he got an incredible arm for his size. 3:05 on the run to make this throw w/ that velocity is insane. Idk if it was Kitchens playbook, although dude has some crazy ass formations. It was definitely his play calling tho. Some of the worse play calling I’ve ever seen. If someone like me, who’s level of football doesn’t go past HS, can see how terrible the play calling was. Defenses can definitely see it and feast on it. Their O line fell off from the previous year and for some reason their offense implored a ridiculous amount of plays that had long ass routes that took time to develop. Gave Baker no fair chance to succeed and he predictably started pressing and forcing throws

There are a few theories as to why a baker’s dozen became 13, but the most widely accepted one has to do with avoiding a beating. In medieval England there were laws that related the price of bread to the price of the wheat used to make it. Bakers who were found to be “cheating” their customers by overpricing undersized loaves were subject to strict punishment, including fines or flogging. Even with careful planning it is difficult to ensure that all of your baked goods come out the same size; there may be fluctuations in rising and baking and air content, and many of these bakers didn’t even have scales to weigh their dough. For fear of accidentally coming up short, they would throw in a bit extra to ensure that they wouldn’t end up with a surprise flogging later. In fact, sometimes a baker’s dozen was 14-just to be extra sure.

I watch these clips and interviews, shows like Undisputed, to help try and understand the game better. I’ll avoid Cowherd in future as he just seems on a trip, can’t admit when he’s wrong, and he is wrong about Mayfield.
