I remember after one of his fights with AJ Usyk offered to have him in his camp! Would love to see AJ go through one of Usyk’s gruelling training camps. Would be pretty cool if Usyk trained him after he retires.
If Usyk did end up training AJ the first thing he would fix is his horrible defense. AJ’s defense was abysmal. Against Ruiz it was more like a freak accident because he got caught while trading with a guy with faster hands against Dubois it was was just shocking to see him just hand his chin out to dry like that from round one, his hands were all the down and his feet was stuck in mud it was though he didn’t train for an aggressive Daniel Dubois. He fought like a complete novice and an amateur.

I think Usyk could help AJ. AJ has everything to be a champion but he is mentally unstable, he is very similar to Vlad Klitschko. Emanuel Steward is the one who could properly set up Klitschko, Steward was like an older brother to him. Usyk is very skilled but I think his main attribute is his mental fortitude, that man is very mentally strong and he beat fury on pure mental strength and resilience. I also agree that AJ’s mental aspect is very unstable he needs a balance because it seems as though sometimes AJ underestimates himself and then sometimes overestimates himself just like he did against Dubois here.

It was shocking to see AJ do the complete opposite for a guy who was Olympic gold medalist and a unified champion and defended his belts multiple times. I believe if AJ used the Derrick James Style in this fight he would have won the fight because Derrick James has all his fighters fight in a guard and behind their, that was what made Errol Spence successful as a fighter, all his fighters keep their hands up at all times and they dictate everything behind the jab that style would have really come in handy for AJ here but unfortunately he didn’t have the ring IQ or ring adjustment to pull that out of his tool bag during the fight.

It might come down to one mis step again or one wrong angle of attack,or just old legs ready to retire despite the spirit. well thats my humble two cents anyway.
Wow, Usyk is a master of the soviet boxing style/school. He has all of the fundamentals that are essential to be in a balanced position during the whole fight. BTW, every single beginner boxing lesson begins with the practice of the correct bixing stance, so Joshua's style is completely wrong. Moreover, "he is my greedy belly friend" was hilarious. Usyk told several times his interviewes that he was humbled in his life outside of the ring that's why he is unbeaten in the ring. So stay humble always.
