i had a friend of mine at the time that was a big acid mothers temple fan; i didn't think they were very interesting, myself. but, he pleaded with me to go to the show, and i had nothing better to do, so i went. mammatus opened the show and completely embarrassed them. they played on the floor because the stage was actually off limits to them (or that's what the guitarist with the green monster told me, anyways), so i got to stand a foot from a dozen amps as they plowed through this, and i was just standing there with my mouth open, the whole time. so, i'm certainly glad i went to the show. unfortunately, my friend missed the opening set and didn't seem interested in the two cds i bought at the show, which was the extent of their discography at the time. i'm glad to see that they've built a slow audience, as they really were something to behold.
this band is really fucking awesome, if you havent already heard their shit, any of it, you need to build that bridge cause youll never wanna burn it....perfect.

i consider this & the coast explodes to be a double concept record about slowly starving & drowning in a small boat left in the middle of the pacific.
