Hello, I am from Cali, Colombia, I love salsa and house dance and when I saw the movement I thought, hey that's a salsa step, it seems very good to know that they were really inspired by that movement and explain it.
if you are actually trying to learn this. notice how she eats the 4th step to transition into the other leg. combine the last beat and transition in 4th beat. because no music is going to give you "1,2,34, 'and' 1,2,3,4". 4th step includes the transition.
"and" is when your foot goes down for the next foot to start. you can't have the whole transition from one foot to the other in one beat, it's impossible. there are halves and ands and all that fun stuff in the rhythm. lol.
@@jhumrubabayou did not say the same thing. You implied that there is nothing between quarter note beats. That there is no space for an "and" between the first bar and the second. When in fact when can all perceive and move to an "and" between EVERY beat; eight divisions. If the tempo is slow or we are fast , we can split the bar into twelve for a triplet feel or sixteen for super fast twitchiness.
@@Nutcut.1234 Shuffling can be done while in uprock, but they aren't really the same. The uprock is just the standing part of bboying/bgirling, and it has a set of moves that you would typically use.
Totally agree on this one. But I also think that shuffle is just badmouthed alot because watching most "shufflers" when they are dancing looks like: everything above the hip is stiff and lifeless. I haven't seen a single shuffle dancer till now who danced with soul or real passion that makes you wanting to see more. There is no depth in this genre and just looks "cool and fast" for people with few dance experience.
Utilizing your core correctly will make it feel more light on your feet! Don't forget to use your core newbies! (I just realized this as I was learning this.)
Thanks both of you for this video! You both are so good, and I appreciate you calling it the Kerry Step! She clearly OWNS this dance, regardless it’s origin, creator, culture....once I practice, perfect, and own it... I’m gonna call it the “Colombian KJ Step” (for Kerry and Jardy)
Hey Jardy, I learned a lot from your videos and dance better. Thank you for your tutorial. I just want to know how to do very cool and smoothy spinning. Could you post a spinning tutorial?
Can anyone explain to me why her shuffle step looks SO DOPE in the beginning dance before the lesson. Is she tapping the heel? What's going on. I love that smoothness.
Awesome!!!! Is it me or backwards isn't really backwards? Could be trippin but the last 2 steps backwards are not the same as forward, please let me know if that was intended or I'm really trippin
Its not easy to teach house dance it comes from the soul ..this dance originated from Bojangle dancer from back in the forties then in the 80s it was develop from a spiritual Soulful place in one's life for what they were feeling individual struggles personal struggles so they came out to dance. The gay house clubs to perform and dance release there deep pains from the Soul from your bones from your mind and heart that's so yes teach your version of house dance commercially I wish you well
Aw. Consistent practice totally helps! When I first started house dancing, I couldn't even comprehend a lot of the steps. This is actually a very advanced step, so try some of my other tutorials first if this one discourages you. You can do it! :)
I grew up around the block from Jardy. I took a few of his lessons. Always a humbling experience.
What's up Ian! Hope you're good bro :)
tap dancing sped up ...i see the influence...LOVE IT!!
i have to say that amongst all the moves in the playlist, kerry step is the coolest one
Your steps are the coolest

If Jardy has a hard time doing it, you know it's hard!!!!
Even when you are not dancing, you bounce :-) You clearly exude love of dancing.

this is my fav footwork in house dance.I enjoy doing this
Thank you madam ur best dance style steps helping for all dancer's for urban hip pop dance style
House dance is 100x better than the shuffle..
Shuffle is basically just a part of a dance style, same as gliding, animation, it's not exact dance style, the only basic there is shuffle.
@@DmitriousBazhanov Uprock dance style definitely looks like shuffle.

"Cutting Shapes" is an absolute cultural black hole.
