Our camp guests had never seen a Premier League stadium, so we went to see 3! Watch it here:

Its crazy that both legs of their ucl semifinal where played home, since the teams share the same city and stadium. Mind blowing
True 🤯
that must have been extremely convenient for players
Speak English
Convenient but the "home advantage" when it comes to the fans is still there during the two legs
@@rayanmehadjeri7604exactly, for their “away” game they would have had the standard 5% of the capacity
So iconic, sad to see it go soon
The stadium must go it is very old and last time i was there i saw cracks on pillars plus the structure looks very weakened over time. So its a smart move.
@@dennisjohnson4365then what about Eden Gardens and VYBK in Kolkata ?! VYBK holded the record of the biggest stadium in the world for many years . What about that ??! More than 130 yrs old !!
The stadium is not getting demolished, this narrative has been overblown by foreign media
@@SportzLoverHimu that my friend is well maintained
well you can't stop progress can you?
It should be a crime to destroy such iconic places
I agree, but it’s literally starting to fall apart. Certain sections are even closed off.
@@CommanderOfRussia1 well they could renovate the stadium and replace the old materials
@@ReyesBlaugranas Italy is really weird with their stadiums, only 4 teams actually own their stadiums. To get anything done in Italy takes years just to even get permission, I think the Milan council wants a new stadium so nothing the teams can do about it. Doesn’t help that Italian football is broke right now. Shameful to see such history run into the dirt, but something has to happen in the near future.
@@ReyesBlaugranas its probably cheaper to demolish and rebuild than to repair.
@@CommanderOfRussia1Italy just sucks at taking care stadium. They should have use concrete powder that the Romans use.
As awesome as "The Cathedral" sounds, San Siro should remain there. It is a symbol of the Milan Derby, the most feared Derby of the derbys.
San siro is in disrepair, probably unsustainable keeping it and maintaining
It's in too bad of a state to stay in use
The only reason it's not already closed is because it's legendary stadium
I agree that it is important and I hope some of the old symbolism or some designs of that stadium remains.
I also hope that AC and Inter will actually own the cathedral.
I actually think the name is a bit meh. San Siro is the traditional name and I think it carries more allure
@simon caton I agree I don't think "The Cathedral" Is a good name for these big boys, I like san Siro just because its sounds more italian and also match with the culture in milan
If you weren't a nostalgia guy and could just face reality, you would know the san siro is in too bad of a shape.
Two teams sharing a stadium is like when your mom says to play with your brother on the same pc
In the US 4 NFL teams share 2 stadiums

@@allensaunders449 Meanwhile Singapore requires all its professional football league's teams to share stadiums, & each team also plays an additional match each season against each league opponent @ the neutral _Jln Besar_ Stadium (where the country's football association is also headquartered at)
Thats sibling love right there.
When they face off, the visiting team is actually playing at home
I think one of the teams is the home team and have more fans and the next match they are the away team.
Had the pleasure to play in san siro/guiseppe meazza. For some reason it feels smaller than it looks.
It’d be so cool having 2 season tickets there, getting to watch 38 home games every season would be insane
I wonder why the need to demolish san siro instead keeping san siro while building the cathedral so they have 2 stadiums and decide which one own each stadiums
It is because both teams would want to be in the brand new stadium. Also it would cost a huge amount of money so it would be easier if both put money into the new one.
Keeping the old one running will cost a lot and it’s old now needs a lot of repairs
Because it takes big space in city of Milan
Because the location of it is perfect and you can't find such a big space in the city size of milan
One reason is that the San Siro is in heavy need of renovations to the point it's probably cheaper to demolish it and rebuild it
San Siro isn't Blue or Red, it is Purple, imagine if the 2 clubs ever merged, that would become an OP club
Wouldn't be as OP as man city
@@davidz2690 No history, oil club
@@Electricc__ They're older than Inter, and Inter is owned by the chinese...

The cathedral is just the name of the project. The new stadium will probably still be called San Siro
Private stadiums are relatively a new concept. At the time in the 1950’s to 60’s stadiums were built by the government and allowed private teams to use them. This is why lazio and Roma play in the stadio olimpico as it was built for the Olympics
Sad to see it go it’s such a beautiful iconic stadium 😢
Wow thanks and just a question what if they are playing against each other who gets the home side?
Whoever is registered as the home team gets to have majority of the stadium. The away team will sit in away stand which is much less.
it depends, for example when they play against each other in the serie a the 2 games are the first ac milan-inter and the other inter-ac milan, or vice versa.
like any other match, in the end the difference is that the team who (formally) plays at home has the home stands while the other has the away stands with much less fans
ITs good seeing 2 teams sharing a stadium
More teams should share stadiums, it's such a waste of space and resources when teams from the same city have 2 stadiums right next door to each other.
the fighting brothers that never skip each other
Because it is also uneconomical to build more stadiums in the same city, which did not happen here in Portugal when several stadiums were built for euro 2004 and some in the same city as was the case with Benfica and Sporting a few kilometers from each other, as if we were a rich country, but we are good at wasting money we don't have on things we don't need to look rich.
Here in Argentina, in the capital city of Buenos Aires we have more than a dozen stadiums. In another city, Avellaneda, are two stadiums that hosts my team and the rival, Racing Club and Club Atlético Independiente, both of them with a distance of 200 meters of the other one. They are literal neighbors.
Cathedral better have that weird lookin Pillar
The Cathedral is not happening. Milan is looking to build a stadium of their own property in a different city, since Milano's city council is against the idea of demolishing San Siro and is blocking every project to build a new stadium.
"The Cathedral" looks like any other shoebox that's been built in the past 10 years. I understand that San Siro is too old, but you can't replace it with smth bland like that.
It just makes sense. Stadiums cost billions and they can be shared with no downside, I don't get why more don't share them.
Short answer: Italian bureaucracy makes it almost impossible for clubs to build and own their own stadium, and must therefore use the municipal government’s stadium and pay rent.
Also, please do not spread information about San Siro being demolished, that is absolutely not true. Those plans have been a matter of debate with the Milan Municipal Government for literally years. San Siro will stay for the foreseeable future. Read above to see why.
Yup, was about to comment exactly that.
@@arijit3110you weren’t
They cant destroy a stadium with that much history.😥
R.I.P San Siro❤
The truth is that building a new stadium costs less money rather then fixing it
Inter was really like: my mom said it's my turn to play in the San siro
such a shame to lose the San Siro, truly the home of passion
It’s criminal to destroy such an iconic stadium
Imagine Man City sharing Old Trafford or Man United Sharing The Ethiad
what if they built the cathedral but they don't demolish the san siro, so that Inter and Ac Milan have their own stadiums (it's okay if you don't agree)
One of the teams who wants San Siro as base should buy the right and renovate it. Although at least they have to have €2 billion.
@@muhammadrifqi25 both have tried but the government will never sell it, it makes them too much money
Ac united coming soon
Thanks a lot for the info!
Lastest rumour, AC Milan want to build own stadium without Inter
Same thing happens in maracanã here in Brazil, where flamengo and fluminense are both huge rivals, and play in the same stadium
Sad that the Iconic San Siro will be no more. But only a venue named "The Cathedral" is worthy to takes it's place (awesome name)
This is so smart tbh, why waste money to build 2 stadiums if they can get away with one

San Siro the name holds meaning but who the fu*k came up with the cathedral 😢😢
tbf its a good name

The iconic San siro. Which saw players like Van Basten,Gullit,Ronaldo Nazario,Kaka, Ronaldinho,Eto'o,Zanetti and Maldini and many more legends
Scrimmage must be crazy
So when they play each other it’s a home game for each of them?
😅imagine both teams in d semi final of d CL wen away goals count more, how then do they decide which team has scored more away goals if they draw d tie.
It’s pretty common, here in Mexico América and Cruz Azul, two of the biggest clubs share the famous azteca stadium. If there’s two big teams in a city they just share a stadium.
That photo of Lukaku with is shirt on the corner flag is too iconic.
Something about rivals sharing a stadium doesnt sit right with me.
Tbf, it's something which isn't standalone in Italian Football as The Giuseppe Meazza is shared by AC Milan and Inter, but also the Stadio Olimpico which is shared by Roma and Lazio, and before they was defunct Hellas Verona shared their Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi with Chievo Verona as well as Genoa and Sampdoria sharing Stadio Luigi Ferraris
That was indeed the case for the new stadium untile a few months ago, it will not be shared as inter lack the funds for its construction, it's widely known that inter will be in the old rusty san siro alone whilst Milan will have their new stadium in a close location within the next few years
So sad it’s getting demolished. but i’m very lucky i got to see it this year before it got knocked down
I like the sound of “The Cathedral”.
People asking what it’s being destroyed. It’s apparently not up to date with the new stadium standards. Not a fan of either but it is sad to see the San Siro being demolished as a football fan
Well I am glad to have visited when I had the chance. It's a beautiful stadium.
Wonderful old stadium 🏟 ❤
You'd think that a video about the 'San Siro' would mention that the stadium isn't actually called the San Siro
I gotta watch a game there with my future kids
Well we got the same thing in India as well
The Salt Lake Stadium or VYBK
The home ground for both Indian Football Giants Mohunbagan and East Bengal.
It had the capacity of like 100k but is now restricted to ~65k
The real reason:
Very few Italian clubs actually own their own stadiums. In fact, across the top 3 divisions of Serie A, B and C, only 3 clubs directly own their stadiums. Those clubs are Juventus, Sassuolo and Udinese. The rest of the stadiums are mostly owned, maintained and run by the local municipal government of the city that the club is based in. So if there are 2 clubs based in the same city, they often have to share the stadium as it’s cheaper for the city. AC Milan and Inter sharing San Siro isn’t the only example but it’s the most famous one. Other examples include Lazio and Roma sharing Stadio Olympico. Hellas Verona and Chievo sharing Stadio Marc'Antonio Bentegodi. Genoa and Sampdoria sharing Stadio Luigi Ferraris
That manager in black and white was packing
Packing?
Maybe one day it’ll be like Newcastle and they will be one club, would be cool to see that but also sad. Good luck in the CL Inter!!
Even though I love the names San Siro/Giuseppe Meazza, The Catedral is one of the best names I've ever heard for a stadium
The thing that still made me wonder is how they trained when they have derby match?
They should join forces and changed their name to Milan United
It'll be sad to see it go but we do need a new stadium.
Yeah it's sad to see such a stadium destroyed but everyone in Italy already knows that by like a year.
Maldini said it's because of the repairs and for making more seats and i cant blame him but San Siro will always remain in everyone's ❤🖤💙 Goated stadium.
Lets hope the next one mantains the leggendary levels of San Siro🤞
I hope I get to see Bari in Serie A, if not, welcome back Cagliari.
This is a common thing with other sports in the U.S.
Why get rid of “THE San Siro
Imagine small brothers Monza joining in as well :))
Ac Milan forever
does this mean that Inter and AC cannot ever play home games on the same day?
The "cathedral" should go to one of the teams and ac milan should keep san siro
They should leave the San Siro then build the “Cathedral “ and let inter and ac Milan choose which stadium to play at
Why will the iconic san siro be destroyed!?
Roma, Lazio, Italian national team, Italian Rugby team at Stadio Olimpico
Imagine ac milan vs napoli in ac milan's home and inter milan vs juventus in inter milan's home💀
Just imagine both Madrid had a same stadium 💀
They need to own their own stadiums. It’s just a necessity to be a giant of Europe in today’s age. Each club needs 100% of the revenue.
I keep seeing the suggestion that one team moves out and the other "keeps" the san siro. The city owns the stadium, meaning they get the most of the matchday revenue and we get crumbs.
It's why both have joined to co own the new stadium, we need that stadium revenue if we want to compete with the rest of Europe, staying in the san siro would be great but the stadium doesn't belong to either of us and it's in need of renovatio. We have to move
They should keep San ciroe and build a another one so they don't have to share
Much cheaper sharing perhaps if both clubs had separate stadiums they may not have been as successful
It would be a crime not to call that stadium san siro
Iconic stadium
My favorite stadium
Surely the should hust keep them both and each have a stadium
I find this so tacky and frankly embarrassing that clubs as big as AC and inter share a stadium. Imagine spurs and arsenal sharing one - impossible!
What happens if they both have a home game at the same time against another team?
When Inter plays home it s called Giussepe Mezza.
What about times where they have to play same time like the last match day serie A
It’s called
Stadio Giuseppe Meazza not the San Siro!!!
Tear down an iconic stadium. In England, there would be riots in the streets, I feel like. Just build the second one and let Inter have it since the San Siro was AC Milan’s to begin with
Inter wouldn't get the revenue from the stadium, that's one of the main reasons for this project.
Wait what happens if they both have a home game at the same time
So when they both play each other they both have a home advantage
What if they had a match home the same day😮
this derby just lost some fire...how you gon beef with your roommate 😂
It would be funny if they would build two new Stadiums for each of them, but next to each other.
That's the case of my team in Argentina, Racing Club de Avellaneda. Our stadium is literally at 200 meters from our classic rival Independiente. The only thing that separates us is the parking lots.
If they demolished it and built it in the exact same design , but to completely destroy such a stadium is a crime against humanity
What would happen if ac and inter are in a title race in the last matchday, and both have home games? Like other leagues, can they even schedule the games at the same time?
Why don't they just give one team the old stadium and the new one to the other team
What happens if both inter and ac milan have 2 home games in the Serie a at the same time???
دحناسين من يومكم يا سحالي
Forza Milan ❤
No more San siro derby 😭, Forza Milan 🔴⚫
So in a knockout stage between these two, normally one stadium gets filled withfans from one team in the one leg what happens here??
