Lol. I remember running off the bus stop in elementary school to play this game. A bully wanted to fight me at one point and I said I had to get home to play this. He said "Oh that game is awesome. You have that game?!" ThenI just ran home. lol. Good times.
This basically Solid Snake's equivalent of Portable Ops. Here are the similarities to each Metal Gear game: MGS3 Snake Eater - Metal Gear Portable Ops - Snake's Revenge Peace Walker - Metal Gear 2 MGS5 Ground Zeroes - MGS Ghost Babel MGS5 The Phantom Pain - Metal Gear Solid. Metal Gear Acid 1 and 2 replacements are for MGS2 and MGRR. By the way, those two games are set in the second timeline. Survive is part of the original and alternate timeline. A sequel may fill gap the after The Phantom Pain. MGRR doesn't qualify as Metal Gear game.
I know that some people dislike this game because it's not the Kojima metal gear 2, but it's still an awesome classic Konami game! And the music is soo nostalgic! Well done with the 100%, that's insane!! I gotta finally try to beat it too one of these days :)) thanks for uploading this, hopefully it'll help me as a guide! o/
Oh yes for sure! Insane music and atmosphere in this game!! Soo nostalgic for me too! Yeah, my run should help you, because I show everything that has to be done in order to beat the game. The most important thing is that we can't beat the Cyborg as he is still in the main room. We must go back then destroy it with mines as shown in the video. ;)
Recuerdo que mi padre me regaló este juego cuando era niño, no tenía idea de lo que era Meral Gear ni de quién era Solid Snake (ya que no se inglés), ahora que de adulto ya lo sé estoy agradecido de haberlo tenido.
I was a huge fan of the orginal Metal Gear and was very excited when this sequel came out. I thought it was a great successor, containing great music, graphics, long game play and pretty much everything that made the 1st MG so great. The 1st MG had more gritty graphics and this one was more colorful so it was a bit different, but still faithful feel, but with more variety as the 1st MG looked pretty repetitive. The music was even better on the 2nd one. Plus the side scrolling added a nice element. When my house was robbed this is probably the game I miss most, having only played entirely through it once. I wish I could play it again so it was great to find this video on youtube to see and hear it again. Thank you!
Coincidently bought this game during the first day of the 1991 Gulf War. The U.S. was going to attack Saddam, war was all over the news, I walked to this electronics shop in Lower Manhattan, they had Snake's Revenge on the shelf along with a few more NES games. The box art sealed the deal for me and inspired me to buy this game. I know it is not authentic Kojima but it was the best $20 bucks I ever spent on an NES game.
Snakes Revenge is legendary Nintendo Sequel With ABSOLUTELY AWESOME graphics and STUNNING gameplay STUNNING Soundtrack and excellent Boss battles This is a classic Nintendo game with attitude 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Lol just realized that trcvr was an abbreviation for tranceiver. Been playing this game for over 20 years. I'm finnish so what do you know :D Still wondering what RTN stands for...
Well, my 100% may not be exactly what is considered 100% for Twitchers, streamers, etc. My 100% meant all items, the full run and all ranks shown. :) I wouldn't find what I may have missed to have it under 100% in this run as well. :)
Yeah, I was saying on the lines of someone doing a walkthrough. Seems you got almost the whole gist. Having played this when I was a kid it was rather difficult getting from A to B without really knowing what to do. Many years later, I can just say "oh wow, that's how it's done". Good presentation, by the way!
@@interesting_output Thanks man! You know. I consider myself a real expert at that game for many reasons. It's like, I played it well enough to learn every little useful trick that makes a game so effective in every sense. I mean, when you know where to get this and that, and know that all elevators "save" the game, you know that if you die at some point, what you'll have to do again or not. I always used to save often to save time when I was not used to the game(s). When poisoned at the end with the spikes, any saving is impossible as long as you don't use an Antidote. When taking passwords, I discovered with time that we would get half of the top amount of each item if we were fuled at the moment that we took the password. However, if we had less than the maximum amount of some item, that the amount would be lower than half of the max amount of those items. also, if some item was at zero count, I knew that after taking passwords, that the number would still be zero when starting playing from that point when continuing after entering password. Also, I was so informed about specific things that if, for example, one oxygen tank has been used, even at 10%, that it would count as one energy tank that we did not own when taking the paswords. Things like that. My playthrough don't tell everything. I did not explain everything on micro or with subtitles here and there, but I should have done it. I started doing it whenI recorded my "Faxanadu Remastered" run. I just explained EVERYTHING. That was more my style. I always like to share the knowledge about those games. :)
THE ONLY REASON I was never able to beat the Commander was because I kept running out of Mines because I was placing them down on his feet 5 or 6 at a time
@@mario_survivor It's weird since I always used that strategy and it always worked. What I think is that you did not read what Nick had to say as he was dying. Thanks a lot! I really gave my best for this one! It was done in 13 different vids all converted into a big one. I took notes, so I already knew in advance what key card I had to use for every door as well as the number of items needed, so I'd cut the grinding a little, giving chances of a more interesting run for viewers. It was fun and challenging though! This game is part of my childhood and I had to do my UA-cam run sooner or later!
marklethanarkle LOLLL yeah. Opened every room where there was an item, so people could see where they are! I intentionally tried to finish the game with at least 1 item or more of each,so it kinda proves it's 100% too. :)

I prefer this over the original.
Schush The original what?
I used to watch my Father play when I was too young to understand fully. Awesome game. Thanks for doing it.
Phil Pickett You're welcome my friend! T'was a lot of work, but I got the result I wanted. Great memories for me too! :)
uh oh the enemies are getting close. I'll just step aside and stay still and wait for them to come close and kill them. They won't know what hit em.
Lol....”The metal gear you destroyed 3 years ago?”
Ahhhhhh no

Digital Magic Studios lol
The 1st Board Music was always my favorite
A very underrated NES-game.
Totally agree!
I miss it when Konami actually made Games....also they had the best Retro Soundtracks up to the Playstation Age....how the mighty have fallen
You sir, are a virtual Big Boss with that gameplay! 👍
Great job! I never beat this game. Way too tough for me. All those secret entrances.
Great run! Looking back, this game was pretty advanced for it's day. I always liked it as a kid, but I was terrible at it, lol.
Funny thing is that I played this one well before I play Metal Gear. That was karma I guess! Ha! Ha!

Damnnnnnnnnnnnnn....you have mad skills son!!!
Much appreciated bud! I put a lot of work on my vids.
"promoted 3 ranks after dying" ha, only the Japanese would do that.
srujan00 Well this game was made by Japanese people

Mad respect for ya. Very few have been able to beat this game. Still play it on my original NES. 😎👍👍
U can get rations like that, wtf!!
Of course!! ;)

3 on the ground at a time is the maximum number of Mines that can be in the screen.
@@HalDanGhor
My Point is I was placing the Mines down to quick and running out.

Даже по денди уровню, эта так себе.
Is a spin off
like a pro!
