its not easy to score goals for an average player against epl sides who have solid defences, if you want to score a goal, you dont need much dribbling skills, you need tactical awareness.
Ro Ye you also need a proper midfield that creates chances for the wingers, which is something Arsenal do not have, and a major reason why Pépé gets isolated easily

@@liamcog Nahhh not with this new formation with the back 3. arsenal midfield rotation is 2 midfielders who are at the back, Arsenal overload the blocks so we create and play more outwide than through the middle hence why the wingbacks like Saka have more assist than the midfielders, it's common sense. Arsenal have created chances for the wingers, hence why Auba has 20 goals, simply Pepe has not been good enough game in and game out.

Pepe is a huge talent I can't wait to see him reach his potential in coming seasons hopefully. I honestly think that if he improves his finishing and gets a groove going he could be like a left footed Hazard
People look at the stats and forget he’s been one of a few stand out players in a shocking team... we’ve been mid table the whole season, he’s definitely been one of our better performers this season. If we were actually playing good football and weren’t changing managers and he had a consistent run in the team and even the slightest bit of confidence and backing from the fans, he’d be top 3 wingers in the league. People were so quick to give up on him. He’s done great for his first season not even knowing the language, he’ll get better for sure. 16 g/a is one of the best in our squad and that’s how far we’ve fallen. It’s a shame people only look at the price tag and expect 50 goals.

Javier Landaverde if you read the articles you will see that the wingers Arteta worked with can become world class, take Sterling as example. He worked with him closely to be better at final third, I’m sure he’ll do the same with Pepe.

Pepe just needs to play direct to help this team. Look at salah, he doesnt do any skills but play direct. I would love pepe to just run and shoot as he is fast. He can humiliate defender when we are winning
Skills is great to get out of trouble and also tires out the opponents, plus making the less veteran opponents less confident. With thst said, skill moves shouldn't be top priority as you said, scoring goals is!

I disagree strongly. Players like him are entertainers. This is what makes football so popular. While he is playing this way he draws in defenders and leaves huge spaces for Aubameyang and others.

Nicolas Pepe sure has more to offer us with good coaching in Mike Arteta. Given the current 343 system, what the squad needs now is 2-3 more wing backs (Niles/Tierney/Bellerin mould) plus one more orchestrator (Ceballos mould). COYG!

Tbh i am pretty happy with his first season. Hasn't set the world alight but he has 16 g+a. His performance levels have been going up since the start of the season as adapts to the league. Think next season we will see the full potential of Pepe
He reminds me so much of Nasri. He even has some of the passing ability. Hope he sticks with us once he starts getting the recognition.
