    A large majority of meat in Australia is Halal because one of our main trading partners for meat produce is Indonesia, and I am super glad that it is prepared in this way.

    Why halal is the most merciful way to slaughter animal:
    1- The animal will immediately sleep (pass out) when the main vein feeding the brain with blood is cut, the animal will feel nothing
    2- the animal head must not be chopped off or completely cut, just the throat and main veins (for a good reason explained below)
    3- the animal must not be kicked or punched or tortured while taken to the slaughter
    4- the animal must not see other animals getting slaughtered, and if it sees any by mistake its not allowed to slaughter it
    5- the knife must be very sharp to cut the vaine in one hit
    why halal has benefits to our health:
    1- when the main vein is cut the brain will have no blood, it will send commands through nerves connected from the backside of the head to the body, giving orders for muscles to move and push blood into brain, this will cause a complete circulation of blood in the body (that's the wisdom behind God forbidding us to chop the head off in Islam, and now we know it from science)
    2- the nerves will cause muscles to reflex and move for about 1-3 mins, the animal will keep moving but its in fact dead
    3- the movement of muscles will cause the blood to get out faster from the open vein
    4- the result is a clean healthy meat without any blood in it, because blood can still contain viruses and germs even when cooked. Blood is a perfect environment for Bacteria and viruses and consuming it is forbidden in Islam.
    God knows the best

      The spirit only Almighty God knows where it went of respected prophet's peace be upon them. We Muslims believe Jesus( peace be upon him) was innocent prophet sent by God and he will return before day of judgement and Muhammed ( peace be upon him) is the last prophet sent to earth face for betterment of humanity. The thing is that as someone in previous comment stated Jesus( peace be upon him) was mortal just be careful when u talk about prophet's according to my belief and IAM a staunch Sunni Muslim respect of prophet's must be maintained you cannot comment in such a way about Jesus ( peace be upon him).Islam clearly condemns people who talk in such a disrespectfull about prophet's and please vigilante same goes for you man please don't disrespect our prophet Muhammad ( peace be upon him) and comment what ever u have heard from someone. He who disrespects any prophet sent by God Almighty is not a Muslim and deserves to be punished.

      @ german scientist did an experiment
      Slicing the throat is the least painful
      Dont show the knife. Dont torture by mass killing them and it cuts the blood supply immediately from the brain and they lose consciousness within 2 seconds and then when the body shakes. They dont feel as it their brain is dead due to blood loss.
      Mass electrocution causes panic before they die. They also dont die straightaway and dont die at the first attempt
      Think. Human electrocution. Theres a reason they wear nappies before deaths and sometimes it takes more than one try
      Slicing the throat looks worse to witnesses but it's less painful for the victim due to blood supply cut off from brain. Important part

    You've done a great job educating people about Muslims and Islam, and their food and culture. They are good people. I am not Muslim, but I've always been comfortable eating halal foods (as all of it is organic and fresh as well). I grew up around Muslims of various sects, and have so many who are like my brothers and sisters to me. Their foods are very cleanly prepared, and as evidenced even in the markets of these countries compared to other major places in Asia like India where street food is not very hygienically prepared. Thanks for sharing. Much appreciated and keep up the good works.

      I agree and disagree. A person's diet had heavily to do with caste because it usually dictated the jobs they did. Brahmins, or the scholarly caste, were not allowed to eat meat due tothe aggressive nature of it. Warriors and laborers were allowed to eat meat because they needed the strenghth and aggressiveness for war and difficult jobs.

      +Hanna Hanna When they (Islamic Empire) conquered, do you suppose any people were killed? Blood spilled? Or do you they think they waved their magic fairy dust wand and all the people that they were conquering came to them willingly without any bloodshed?
      The amount of blood spilled by the Islamic Empire drenched the Middle East in interminable warfare. It held nothing together, except pitting Muslim armies against one another from Sunni against Shia, Muslim against Christian, Muslim against Pagan. None wee spared it's wrath. War and blood spillage were a constant theme of Islam, and today. The most accursed lands are those of Islam for they have sown their own seeds of vengeance and destruction - come full circle.

    To all the Christians commenting to mock and make fun of Islam and Muslims, you should realise that your behavior is far from the teachings of Jesus (Peace be upon him). Ironically people are making a mockery of Halal when this is what Jesus (Peace be upon him) ate i.e. Jesus used to eat Kosher as well as hir mother. Jesus (Peace be upon him) also obtained from swine/pork since the Bible condemns it's consumption, yet Christians make tasteless jokes about pork and Muslims..how sad.

      Jenny A voice of an atheist. I have no problem with your belief, but people who have faith should be left alone and stop trying to tell us that we are fools for having something we believe in. Religion is pure. People, however, are not. You are only blinded by those who use religion to gain power when religion itself teaches people self control and love.

      I checked out your channel and in your other posts on other videos you have said you are vegan. In another post you said you love Irish cheddar on a salad to make it taste better, I like how you like our cheese an vegans do not eat cheese.
      I am Pagan and I have an will never have something to be ashamed about.
      Pride before a fall is always a bigger fall.
      When my mother died, at her burial they was Muslims, Protestant's, Catholics, Mormons and Pagans. After my mother's burial was over we all went to the local pub for a drink, the Muslims and Mormons did not drink and no one said anything to them about not drinking or eating pork.
      On the day after the Muslims and the Mormons were asking why is there a war between Catholics and Protestants' in Ireland. They found out the same in they own religions they have the same problem and that is there is always someone who will corrupt the religions to gain control of this world for there own and selfish wants.
      That is why there is two types of Mormons, two types of Islam, two types of Catholics, over 50 types of Protestants and only one type of Pagan. and then you have 100's of different religions in this world.
      I am not blinded by those who use religion to gain power as I have seen this since I was four, I am 42 in this year of 2015 and the same thing is still going on but this it is about the Christians and Muslims, before this it was Catholics V Protestants and before that it was Christians V Pagan. Do you see a pattern because I do, I just want to live as me without the hassle from others. Everyone on this world all have common ground to life.
      I am a male to female transgender, Pagan, a downhill mountain biker and I like to drink alcohol and eat pork and other meats from around the world. If I have offended you in my first post in this tread then I am sorry as this is my life.

    What I found most interesting is how they treat the animals, both during life and in death. My ex husband and I began raising our own chickens and turkeys fairly early in our marriage. It became all important to us to treat our animals kindly, with love and respect. Even during slaughter, which I initially found extremely uncomfortable. We chose to practice many of the same things with our flocks. Right down to not killing in front of the others and making the killing quick, humane, and allowing all the blood to drain. Bless you, your people, and your ways. It is truly good. I imagine God smiling down, knowing the respect and love you have given. If you have to take a life in order to live, let it be as humble and kind as this.

I never eat anything other than abracadabra meat, which is where the butcher remembers to say the magic word "Abracadabra" before he spins 5 times around himself and jumps over to the animal on one leg and slits its throat. This magically cleanses the meat and makes it healthy. All meat that isn't 100% abracadabra-slaughtered is filthy and unclean and you'll go to hell if you eat it!

      Whereas a sharp knife to the throat, where there are barely any nerve endings (same as any bend or nook in the body, that's why the heel hook in jiujitsu is such a dangerous move for example, because there's no pain to warn you before your leg breaks) is infinitely more humane. And how about the fact that the animals are kept comfortable and not made to witness the slaughter? Compare that with those horrific assembly lines where the animals are being led, one behind the other, to their impending doom, after days of standing around in their own feces up to the knees/shoulders.

Helping at the soup kitchen or even 25 mins at the local orphanage, maybe? Work is worship, and I'm sure your sky daddy would have agreed too. He would have been seriously happy about the fact that instead of praying to him, his devotees are dedicating themselves to honest and hard socio-economic labour that always have the capability of emancipating at least one human being.
      Oh...another thing, why do you tend to forget this creator of yours, that you so fervently need to remember him in prayers? If you are leading such an ethical and productive life, then I doubt you will ever forget him or even massage his divine ego by bowing down to him in a particular direction.

    • @gaurangkarmakar4046
      @gaurangkarmakar4046 6 років тому

      Ashwati Khanduri It's your logic that's flawed. I never ever commented anything about someone's social life and whether their right to prayer should be curtailed or not; I was instead talking about the broader socio-economic activities that could have been done in lieu of these prayers. Secondly, every person's social life is different. If your friend would have been a hardcore career woman for example, then she would seriously have no time whatsoever for anything else besides work and maybe very little beyond sleeping and eating after work, let alone prayers. After all, work is worship, provided the work being carried out benefits society. This is one helluva cheesy proverb I was taught in my childhood.
      Anyway, if your friend has enough time for prayers and a social life without jeopardizing her economic livelihood (you haven't mentioned yet what she does for a living), then by all means she should carry on. Your friend has every right to do so. I was merely pointing out the fact that instead of superficial prayers that don't achieve much beyond some self assurance that you will be ultimately ascending to some mythical happy place called heaven on account of being such a stellar devotee, wouldn't indulging in hardcore socially and/or economically productive action benefiting many humans, other animals and other living brings in the process be a better devotion to this God chap? Service to mankind is service to the Lord, this is another cheesy proverb I was taught in my childhood.
      Maybe it's about time the religious started looking at the more esoteric and loftier aspects of religion and theology, rather than indulge in plain superficial ritualism. This is even more incumbent upon the educated, intelligent and socio-economically empowered religious people who have both the intellect as well as the means to carry out the same. Is their God so megalomaniacal that his fragile ego will be bruised beyond repair, if they don't remember or contemplate his name and attributes? How about trying your best to emulate this God chap's lofty attributes for a change instead of plain contemplation of the same?

      And leave out the Zionist who are trying to divide and destroy BOTH! I'm atheist, but I have Christian friends...the REAL ones, and Muslim friends, many who I consider to be part of my family. Govt propaganda, proxy wars and misinformation has caused a rift between people that shouldn't exist...except for the Zionists, but their time will come when the good people ban together like they/we have on this page. With my Muslim friends I try to keep up with their holidays and wish them wellness, happiness and prosperity like we all should do. Many people don't understand truly what an atheist is, but for me, it's obviously not about religion or any 'god', but what's in a person's heart and how they treat others. I guess in this case that would include animals, and I respect not only the views about halal butchering in and of itself, but being part Native American, we share the same respect for the animal for giving it's life up so that we may live another day for what it's giving us. A big plus for me too is that the meat is bled completely, raised and handled in a humane way up to it's last breath, with a prayer...for Muslims at least, and for Native Americans a simple honoring of the animals life, and it's 'clean' meat, not factory farmed in a cage all it's life and fed an unnatural diet It's good for the "grocery store crowd" to see where their food actually comes from, to pick out which one(s) you want, and to be part of the experience. People fish and basically do the same thing around the world and don't care at all about the life and death of the fish. I've seen some have it's guts ripped out while it was still alive by "sports fishermen" who have the big pick up trucks and a 30 or 40k bass boat, and they would call halal butchering inhumane and barbaric, when they do WORSE to the fish they catch with a barbed hook down it's gullet or through one of it's eyes, take pliers and pull the hook out tearing whatever's in it's way, then toss the fish in a tank or something else to die slowly. THAT is barbaric! I've hunted and fished since I can remember, and was always taught that a humane kill is the best, either for a mammal OR a fish because it keeps the stress hormones from getting in the bloodstream and causing the flavor of the meat(yes, to me fish is meat..it's not a veggie is it??) Even as a 5 year old hunting rabbits in the snow with a stick, if we couldn't get a clean "kill shot" I was taught to not take the chance of a bad hit and make the animal suffer by having to reach into the briars and hit it again, break it's neck, cut it's throat or even stomp on it's head like some of the above "hunters and fishermen" would do. I understood little, but some, about halal meats/butchering, but I didn't know how close it was to my own Native ways of doing things in natures best ways. I have total respect for the lady in the video for stepping into a world she knew nothing about, but was willing to learn. She had an open mind and a curiosity, which more people should have about things instead of hearing or seeing something on the news/internet and believing it just because "so and so" said it. We live on one small planet with a million different cultures, beliefs, religions(or not), ideas, love, peace, and knowledge that spans the existence of mankind itself. Why not SHARE it all instead of killing and hating each other just because we're told to?! That's for children who don't think for themselves. We should refuse to participate in these proxy wars and let peace prevail for a change. There's much we can teach each other only if we keep and open mind, open eyes and an open heart. Thank you for the video and the education. Now, as a former cook, I want to make a halal lamb dish. Any great recipes out there?? Also, do you know if it breaks any rules if I wanted to cook a goat on a spit with open flame(for hours on end)? Thanks again. VIVA PALESTINA!

    The question of how an animal should be slaughtered to avoid cruelty is a different one. It is true that when the blood flows from the throat of an animal it looks violent, but just because meat is now bought neatly and hygienically packaged on supermarket shelves does not mean the animal didn’t have to die? Non-Islamic slaughter methods dictate that the animal should be rendered unconscious before slaughter. This is usually achieved by stunning or electrocution. Is it less painful to shoot a bolt into a sheep’s brain or to ring a chicken’s neck than to slit its throat? To watch the procedure does not objectively tell us what the animal feels.
    The scientific facts
    A team at the university of Hannover in Germany examined the claims through the use of EEG and ECG records during slaughter. Several electrodes were surgically implanted at various points of the skull of all the animals used in the experiment and they were then allowed to recover for several weeks. Some of the animals were subsequently slaughtered the halal way by making a swift, deep incision with a sharp knife on the neck, cutting the jugular veins and carotid arteries of both sides together with the trachea and esophagus but leaving the spinal cord intact. The remainder were stunned before slaughter using a captive bolt pistol method as is customary in Western slaughterhouses. The EEG and ECG recordings allowed to monitor the condition of the brain and heart throughout.
    The Halal method
    With the halal method of slaughter, there was not change in the EEG graph for the first three seconds after the incision was made, indicating that the animal did not feel any pain from the cut itself. This is not surprising. Often, if we cut ourselves with a sharp implement, we do not notice until some time later. The following three seconds were characterised by a condition of deep sleep-like unconciousness brought about by the draining of large quantities of blood from the body. Thereafter the EEG recorded a zero reading, indicating no pain at all, yet at that time the heart was still beating and the body convulsing vigorously as a reflex reaction of the spinal cord. It is this phase which is most unpleasant to onlookers who are falsely convinced that the animal suffers whilst its brain does actually no longer record any sensual messages.
    The Western method
    Using the Western method, the animals were apparently unconscious after stunning, and this method of dispatch would appear to be much more peaceful for the onlooker. However, the EEG readings indicated severe pain immediately after stunning. Whereas in the first example, the animal ceases to feel pain due to the brain starvation of blood and oxygen - a brain death, to put it in laymen’s terms - the second example first causes a stoppage of the heart whilst the animal still feels pain. However, there are no unsightly convulsions, which not only means that there is more blood retention in the meat, but also that this method lends itself much more conveniently to the efficiency demands of modern mass slaughter procedures. It is so much easier to dispatch an animal on the conveyor belt, if it does not move.
    Appearances can deceive
    Not all is what it seems, then. Those who want to outlaw Islamic slaughter, arguing for a humane method of killing animals for food, are actually more concerned about the feelings of people than those of the animals on whose behalf they appear to speak. The stunning method makes mass butchery easier and looks more palatable for the consumer who can deceive himself that the animal did not feel any pain when he goes to buy his cleanly wrapped parcel of meat from the supermarket. Islamic slaughter, on the other hand, does not try to deny that meat consumption means that animals have to die, but is designed to ensure that their loss of life is achieved with a minimum amount of pain.

      +Majin Yojimbo look at how long that "looong" is. you seem on edge, but anyway why are you in denial? if you read quran you'll find alot of things that are facts for us long before science documented them.
      not just the way of properly slaughtering an animal.
      as much as folks like you hate to admit it, alot of scientific studies were inspired because of islam in atempt to try and prove islam wrong and all they have done is prove it right.

    • @cyryc
      @cyryc 8 років тому

      WarMachine xD
      Not on edge, but good job demonstrating your ever-ready assumption skill. Denial? If I say things to you that you don't believe, would you also be in denial as well? Most of those things you claim come before science, were actually discovered long before, notably from the Greeks and Indians.
      Except that isn't the 'proper way' to slaughter. It's the most deceitful. Notice that the purpose is for the 'meat to taste its best'. That's actually kinda heinous, when you think about it. A shot to the back of the head is actually the quickest and most painless.
      The Quran itself does a good job of proving itself wrong with all of its claims. If Islam was so innovative, why did its progress stop so quickly? Why has it not moved on? Why has the West invented everything that has advanced the world, from the computer you're typing on to the internet allowing you to speak to me?

    • @Seth0331
      @Seth0331 9 років тому +14

      ***** when you cut out the jugular veins and throat, all the blood are spewed out of the body of the animal. The blood does not reach the brain anymore meaning that the animal will be "brain dead" and will not feel any pain. The animal is already dead and the movements of the animals are just nerve reactions. Nerves reactions will keep on pumping the blood out.

    • @Seth0331
      @Seth0331 9 років тому +11

      ***** Sorry dude. But how did you know it suffered in the first place, did you get your jugular cut or were you slaughtered and managed to stay alive?
      Of course it takes some minutes to die from slaughtering, its far more painless than to suffocate it with gas. Hold your breath and see if its painless. As said the blood does not reach the brain therefore the animal doesn't feels pain and the spasm that we see after slaughtering it is due to contraction of muscles and the heart still beats and pumps out blood. I repeat the heart is still beating but it is already dead like you said, brain death takes minutes. Blood carry oxygen to the brain with the help of hemoglobin. Since the supply of oxygen is no more being carried to the brain, the animal is already dead within minutes.
      This is also for hygiene reasons. Stunning the animal will cause the heart to stop beating and since blood is a good medium for bacteria, it can host a lot of bad ones. The more you pump out the blood, the fresher and cleaner the meat will be. I suggest you do more research about this and why we do it this way. Go to a mosque or meet the scientist that did this research to ask questions about this.

    • @Seth0331
      @Seth0331 9 років тому +2

      Wow, you seem to be very tense. This is just for sharing of knowledge sake. Chill.
      Of course I have. The pain that we feel is caused by the nerves. We bleed and all. Okay, try to pinch yourself as hard as you can on any part of your body like your arm and pinch on the excess skin on your elbows. Which hurts less? Compare. The one hurts less has less nerves and you don't feel that much of a pain. And when you fell, you have cuts on your arm, and cuts on your elbow, which hurt less? Logically.
      I stand for my argument, I'm just sharing my views, research and based on the physical pains that I've gone through as well as logic behind the anatomy of an animal.

    • @Seth0331
      @Seth0331 9 років тому +3

      When it comes to arguing, we all have to be relaxed, my friend. Being agitated or tensed as I said seems to be very scary at times when other people reads them. We are all here to share knowledge and I will learn some things from you too, because I do thorough research as well. Please read slowly because speed reading leads to misunderstanding.
      No death is painless, only less painful and humane. The less pain we impose on the animal, the more humane it becomes, correct? We are on a subject of cutting the jugular veins AND windpipe together in one swift motion with a razor sharp knife. Nerves sends electrical signals to our brain that we are feeling something. Brain receives the signals IF the brain is active and alive, where oxygen rich blood supplies the brain where the nerves sends signals where we feel pain, cold, hot or whatever. Since the brain is no longer active and alive, how can the brain receive and send signals to the pain when it cannot sense any at all? It's like an electronic component, a computer for example, if the CPU is fried, no matter how much electricity you put into the computer, it will not start up because the CPU is dead.
      We eat meat and animal have to die for us. Plants are living things too, they feel as well, But we cut them for paper and all. Don't they feel pain when they are too, living things?
      I was a biology student and I learn how to slaughter animals as humanely as possible. Halal way. I'm an aviation student now doing my diploma and flying license.

      +Buggabuddy Bin To Muslims yes they are. Because Muslims believe that all three religions Judaism, Christianity and Islam are preaching the very same thing which is to worship only one God, that's Allah. Now if only ALL Jews believe that Allah is the one true God then that's okay, but some Jews think that the name itself Allah is not their God's name and that's only the Muslim's pagan God!!!. And for Christians, the very first thing comes to a Christian mind when the word God is mentioned is Jesus peace be upon him, so clearly its all different. Halal meat is the meat comes from an animal which was slaughtered by the permission of Allah, Allah's name is loudly said before the animal is killed "slaughtered" the Islamic way. Still though and because Muslims have to follow their teachings, Muslims are still allowed to consume meat which came from animals that Muslims are allowed to eat and were killed by Jews and Christians.

    Im Surprised how people are reacting to this when theyre most likely eating animals treated much worse than this!!!
    I rather have my chicken, cow,...ect who are raised in a nice open land who are treated kindly and feed properly then shipped to a near by Halal slaughter house for 24 hours or less where its than killed in private by a sharp knife so sharp just by touching the blade youll cut yourself and have it die by gently falling asleep which is what happens when you slit its throat it gently falls asleep without even knowing whats happen because it never saw the knife and the knife is so sharp you cant even tell youve been cut if anyone accidentally cut themselves with a knife and never realized it until they saw the blood this is the same thing but before they can realize it theyre already dead and cant feel a thing because all their nerves,...ect have been separated so the feelings cant reach the brain letting it know its in pain or not!
    Over the Western Style of animals being raised in dark torture slaughter houses who are beating, ejected with drugs,....ect then dipped in water and electrocuted to death or hit in the head with a stun gun till they drop which most studies show it takes more than one hit to knock animals to the ground in which they still remain alive after words not to mention animals are all slaughtered right in front of each other...ect
    So put it this way would you rather be raised in a peaceful way then one day be blindfolded and put in a private place to rest a while then someone enter and slice your neck without you even knowing and youll be dead before you realize it or would you rather be raised in a torture house injected with drugs to make you fatter and where you get to watch everyone around you being slaughtered 24/7 watching people being changed then dipped into water then electrocuted to death or hit continuously over the head until you get knocked out and die? what sounds more humane and what sounds more like a horror movie?
    Ive been eye witness to animal slaughters before and i rather have a Halal animals slaughter than a Western torture house slaughter any day!! The Halal Slaughter at first it might seem scary but when you see it for real with your own eyes its fast and quick and not really bad at all especially compared to when you see chickens being hanged upside down dipped and water and electrocuted to death or cows with their legs being broken then hit over the head with stun guns multiple times till they lose conciseness....ect ones easy to watch and not that bad the other is absolutely nonhuman and horrifying to watch!

      +Expressivenification True, Allah's name is mentioned, the animal facing the Qiblah "Kabah" That's the house of God, its the black house in Makkah. The animal should not hear you sharpening your knives, the animal should not see the knives unless something wrong happened lol, dropped it or something, but a man should try his best to keep hiding it at all times. Animals about to be slaughtered are not to watch other animals die, The knife must be very very sharp and when slitting the animal throat, it has to be very quick so the animal wont feel a thing. Also, it is advised in Islam that children who are less than 7 or 6 years old are not to watch the slaughtering.

    The way the gentleman at the slaughterhouse explained why he believes people should be present for the slaughter was actually really insightful. Meat eaters are very quick to forget or just flat out disregard how an animal is processed for our consumption. It makes us remember that these animals were living beings. I definitely tend to keep that out of my mind when thinking of consuming meats.
