Thank you Lynne! And thanks for the Super Thanks! (That’s lots of “thanks” in one comment 🤣) I still have plans to go through the back streets a bit more where it’s a little bit more residential. Not as packed with places to go, but definitely some things to see and do (and eat)
Took a walk up Danua Poso just after lunch today and had coffee at Gecko for the first time. Nice little place, but the coffee a bit strong for my liking. The jewel in the crown is Roti Canai. I have tried a couple of places up the north end of Sanur, with not much luck for Roti, but this is how it should be. Ordered the banana roti and teh tarick special hot tea. 30,000 for both and i was in heaven, so thanks again Adam for the legwork you do and the informative tips and videos.
Wow. Such a quick test of my recommendations! 🤣 I’m a big fan of that roti and I don’t think a lot of people know about it? Any fellow travellers when you went? You are right about the strength of Gecko coffee, but I like it like that. Personal preference I suppose.
No other tourists. A couple of groups of locals. I like that they give you a pencil and basic order book and you write down what you would like. Bit old school way of ordering. No WiFi, so couldn't use my translation app, but I still got what I wanted after couple of questions, so all good.
Cheers mate. Always looking to improve! Hopefully we can get some killer videos out there as the year progresses and really show people that Sanur is the place to be. And maybe even show some lesser known places outside of Sanur that people might otherwise miss.
Yeah me too. I’m not sure, but I get the impression that not so many people venture to the southern end unless they’re actually staying there. Maybe the opposite is true as well… not sure.
Hi mate. Great video. A new part of Sanur we will definitely try in August. Thanks for the great work and keep up the fantastic content. Would love your thoughts on craft beer bars in Sanur. Cheers and thanks again. Well done 😊
Thanks! As far as craft beer goes, I’m really not sure what the landscape is like for that as most people are drinking Prost and Bintang. The best I can think of (without being an expert on the matter) is Sanur Beer Garden which I blew past in this video. You can see the SBG sign in the background at one point. They do a much wider range of beers than most places.
I’m tour guide for a day my plan is a progressive dinner on danau poso start at the bypass and head towards tamligan entree, main ,desert with drinks along the way , any suggestions?
Let's work backwards. Dessert at massimo's which is just up from the roundabout that connects Danau Tamblingan and Danau Poso. Entree would have to be at Barbarossa with a sneaky drink. Main is a tough one because there are quite a few options along there... I really like Bhineka Muda, but you could do Sanur Beer Garden as well depending on what you feel like. Even Pizza n Gooo is a great option. As for drinks, it depends on how many drinks we're talking. But let's say you want to have one drink per place you stop at and you have say 4 hours. It goes like this: 19th hole, My Bar, Stumpy's, No Name, Up To You, Place 2 Be, Fire Station. That'd be 7 drinks plus whatever you had at entree and main. Over the course of 4 hours, you'd have a great night out! Most of the walking would be done before you got too much grog into you as well...
Yeah, I’m not convinced by some of the feedback I’ve heard. If it survives long term, I might give it a shot. Just check out some of the owner responses to the 1 star reviews on Google and it’s pretty eye opening.
Thanks for taking us to so many out of the way places Adam. I do love local haunts.

Thanks 🙏
We love that Pizza, Romano style base cooked separately👌
Interested to try a few of the Warungs closest to the bypass 👍
You mean at Barbarossa or Pizza n Gooo? Definitely want to try Barbarossa at some stage.
@@SanurDiaries Pizza and Gooo
@westernaustraliatravelfish2144 ah yeah. Pizza n gooo is great. Haven’t really tried anything else from there except the pizzas though.
I am surprised you didn't mention the Sanur Beer Garden and a very good Italian restaurant(name ??)which is nearly opposite the bottle Shop.
Yeah I know both of those, but I haven’t been to either. Are they worth a visit?
Sciue sciue....great Italian.....sadly, closed permanently a few months back.
