I'm Diegueno, we're also called Kumeyaay, my reservation is in Lakeside, California. I love watching the styles of dancing from other tribes, years ago there was a man from the Hopi tribe living on our reservation, he was married to my aunt, but they divorced and he continued living there until he passed away.
I want to do first English comment!! Bravisimo for the Hopi Nation! The dances!! The Regalia ! The living culture!! You are the best , please keep giving us your videos, for me is a great way to see your Nation! Thank you so much!! Ahora in Spanish!! Que Viva la Raza NATIVA AMERICANA!!❤🇺🇸🇪🇦🇲🇽🇨🇺🇸🇻🇵🇾🇩🇴💯🙏 (All my ancestors and friends from different nationalities)!!
What an impressive dance! So much stamina in the dancers. The individual interpretations by the dancers showed love of their entire dance. The costumes were clearly works of love and pride for each of the dancers. It was an honour to watch the Butterfly Dance of the Hopi of Hotevilla. I would love to visit the Hopi again, it’s been a long time.
Human uniqueness, I have watched so many traditional dances on UA-cam, you know that none of these dances are the same to the others, meaning God gave us our own unique dance
Bellooos hermoooosos!
Greetings 🫖☕ good day 🌞🙏 my first pow wow was with Apache Joe it was interesting some people think 🤺they are the only person named Joe .....Joe's apartment is a funny show ....I enjoyed my first Pow Wow, cheers 🥂🍾to love ❤️🌹🤭
Beautiful costumes and mesmerizing dancing. All in unison, just superb. Do Hopi women dance as well or just the men? Apologies for my ignorance, but I've long wondered if the dancers sing words or simply sounds? Meaning? So fascinating, traditions passed down through centuries.
Stop calln em costumes it's regalia would u like to be told your clothing is costumes please for yourself educate on etiquette I'm Dine and I'moffended stop using this term please
It is mermerizing! But I thought Hopis forbad to record any ceremonies or dances. My husband and I were told that you could not film, photograph, even make drawings of ceremonies.
I'm not sure, but, as I understand it, there are things about their culture that the Hopi will share with outsiders and things that are too sacred to share. Maybe this was considered ok. Or maybe it was filmed secretly, in which case I'm not gonna watch it, just in case.
@@wfcoaker1398 It is too well filmed to have been done secretly. Maybe it was done by someone who asked permission and got it because it is not a dance too sacred to share. Perhaps it was done by a Hopi. In any case it is beautiful. The dance that my husband and I went to had something to do with harvest.
You're right about the recordings and pictures but when it comes to our social dances they're fine and yes this was filmed by a Hopi most of the time we record these to remember our family members who danced that particular time and to share
I love you Hopi ✨️ All good blessings to the Hopi Nation 🦅✨️🙏☝️✨️🦅

First comment here that I really appreciate. Thank you.
Always hold on to your ancient traditions. Some cultures had it beaten out of them.

In any event, this is also not considered a powwow in the traditional sense. A sacred dance, yes.

I would always ask before you decide to record tho
Wow you to film on your pueblo

I hope Native Americans never get out bred from their race. Many of those elders look full blooded. Not what i expected!
Most tribes in the southwest are full blood. There are 8 million Native Americans and only 3 million are full blood

Надеюсь, из народа не сделали развлекающих "артистов" для туристов? Вся культура осталась в танцах?
Creo que su idioma se parece un poco al nahuatl, y son el antecedente más al norte, de la nación mexica.
