In México we have something similar, but the peanuts and garlic are fried with árbol chilies and also coated with chili powder. I would love to try this version with sugar and salt!

I have’t tried the Mexican version but I’ll surely be on the lookout. I don’t doubt they’ll be good too! Hope you can try this version. Tell me what you think!

Oh I didn't know you're supposed to cook them separately and deep fry. I just crush the garlic and stir fry them together with maybe 2 tbspn oil

Cooking them separately helps control the doneness of the garlic. But I think there's no one way of doing this so if your style works, then that's great! I found when frying both at the same time that the garlic burns for me. Maybe I should try again!

Where can I find those smaller peanuts with skin? The small circle shaped bad boys like in video? Salamat

Hello! I usually buy my raw peanuts in Asian supermarkets. The brand I used in this video is KS Peanuts with Skin (12oz). I've use other brands too and they're always a success. I found the peanuts with no skin usually larger in size. I've use them too and they are also yummy. And I suggest slicing the garlic like what I did in this video (instead of crushing them). They fry more evenly and they are yummier in the final product. Salamat din!

I buy mine at a Filipino store in the U.S. I'm sure any Asian stores would have it.
