This is so helpful and appreciated. Love the scientific breakdown. Went through some hair loss after medically necessary hysterectomy. Fibroids were depleting iron, feratin, general blood supply throughout the body. I have been incorporating these steps and finally starting to see some improvement. Consistency is key. Hair growth is a process that starts with correcting the internal issues first.
Thank you Karen for doing this video! This is a much needed video! Karen I am contemplating going back to a relaxer! I am in my 50 and my hair has changed so much from 8 years ago when I went natural. I can’t seem to keep it moisturized. But I will do what you are suggesting in this video.
Your hair may have changed over the past few years which is also why you may need to change your moisture routine as well. Switch it up! Your hair will thank you for it!!!
I love watching your videos. You give amazing insight & tips of how to take of your hair. Thank you. I told my husband about your videos that I have learned so much from them. You take your time in explaining the steps. I sometimes re-listen to same video, lol. I’m one of your committed followers.
Good morning Ms. Karen of Curl House. I am a brand new subscriber to your channel. Your natural hair is always amazingly Gorgeous. As a starter, which will recommend for me? I'm for advice and suggestion. Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I been looking at your videos and love them so much please keep me informed about hair growth because I’m on a hair journey now how do I follow you because I see your videos and that’s all
I know I’m late but I’m just seeing this video but since I started following you and your tips I have started drinking more water, cut out soda. Eating sweets in moderation, cut out fast foods. Still need to start eating more fruits and veggies though. Ty for your help❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
HI Ebony! I"m so happy that you are growing -- not just your hair -- but your health as well. It blesses me so much! Thank you so much for sharin your journey with me -- and keep on taking baby steps and creating those lifestyle changes which will allow you to experience a long healthy life!
I have enjoyed your UA-cam channel and loved all the information I have received. I have recently found out I have alopecia. My hair loss began when I was caring for my 92 year old mother who had Alzheimer. She passed two years ago but while caring for her I was giving myself a perm and she wake up and got out the bed trying to go downstairs. After I managed to get her back to sleep I too the perm out and my hair came out with it. Now I have done everything I know to get it to grow back but I still have a big spot in the back of my head that hair begans to grow then falls out. Please help!!!!! I need advice.
@@SeprinaJones hey there! You can’t! Moisturizing hair means applying water to the hair and that will make your silk press revert. I have a silk press / blow out video on my channel if you want to check it out
This video NEVER gets old. A year later, I AM revisiting common-sense approaches to curly hair length retention. Thanks #KarenofCurlHouse for being so detailed and leaving this on the airwaves. Taking notes and adapting to my current situation.😍❤️ KEYS TO LENGTH RETENTION (Stop Breakage): 1. 💦MOISTURIZE hair daily with WATER as first ingredient in products! OILS alone are not moisturizers. WATER based products hydrate and soften the hair. 2. 💫DEEP CONDITION hair with steam, heat or plastic cap overnight for 20-30 minutes; minimum 1-2 times a month, depending on style. 3. 💪PROTEIN for color treated, heat styled, multi-styling or permed hair. *Henna treated hair, multiple moisturizing-conditioner is recommended. 4. ⚖️TRIMMING damaged or unhealthy ends of hair have splits. Once hair is split there is NO permanent repair. Hair ends that can been seen through or rough and thinner at the ends, usually needs "dusting". Trims are done normally 3-4 times a year or seasonally (once every 3-4 months); minimum once every 6 months. 5. 🤓PROPERLY DETANGLE HAIR with wide tooth comb when wet. 🚨Do NOT comb or brush dry hair‼️Pre-poo with (coconut) oil 24-hours before shampoo allowing for elasticity. This minimize hydragal fatigue. Finger detangle section with conditioner with slip, starting from the bottom and working upwards. Twist each section and rinse conditioner gently, then style as usual. 6. 🤗PROTECTIVE STYLES are lobg term styles where daily manipulation isn't involved, creating an environment for healthy length retention. Ex: braids, plaits, cornrows etc. Maintain protective style NO longer than 4-6 weeks.Continue to cleanse and moisturize natural hair in style. Do NOT become lazy or complacent. ALWAYS be mindful of tight, heavy and damaging hair styles and product usages.
I thank you so very much!!!! I love the way you broke down my notes for me! I am going to take them and create a youtube video for this week! I really appreciate it so much! Thank you entrusting me with your hair care education!
Hi Martha! Thank you so much for your positive feedback. I really appreciate it. It is my hope that you use the suggestions in the video to stay natural, if that is truly your desire. I know it may get difficult to manage your hair, but I always tell my clients to 'remember why you went natural in the first place'. If your reason is the still the same, then that may encourage you to stay. But ultimately do what's best for YOU. I'm rooting for you! Now back to your question, LOL, a trim can be done with either curly or blow dried straight. It depends on the stylists preferred technique and the curl pattern. I do both, however I blow dry the hair straight most of the time for a trim. You can see what needs to be trimmed much easier on straight hair in my opinion.
Hello there! I created a video on post workout tips after sweating - this is similar but I create video more specific to your request - ua-cam.com/video/TDheu1zWkPY/v-deo.html
You are setting and protecting your hair before bed - that definitely helps to minimize breakage. I just posted a video yesterday about that. Thanks for sharing

I drink lots, lots, lots, lots of water and I change bad eatting ha😊ppens, to a way of life eating - healthy eat is my way of life. ❤
Is mineral oil good or bad for your hair
Hey there! Mineral oil is heavy and may be too heavy for fibber and/or thinner textured but does work to lock in moisture very well, and softens hair.
Can you speak on Perspiration in hair.

What state do you live - in?
In the evening I will take pins out gently comb through hair and put two braids pin them under and put my silk scarf on and that’s that.
