Good day sir hope you're good. Ku number 1.1.4) isn't supposed to be -1/3? because the 1 was positive so now that we transfer it to the right hand side it's supposed to change it's sign.
Hi Angela, thanks for your question. Yes, the one is positive and it will change sign after transferring it to the right hand side. However, on the left hand side we also have the -3x, therefore, the negative signs will cancel out when we transfer the -3 to the right hand side by dividing by it. Hope this clarifies it?❤😊
No, the sign of -3 won’t change when we are transferring it because since it’s multiplying the variable (x) of the term (-3x), we move it by division. So, after moving the 1, we will divide both sides of the equation by -3. This will cancel the -3 on the left hand side, leaving only the x, while forming -1 divided by -3 on the right hand side, which gives us +1/3
