Norwegians here! 😊 enjoying your videos before moving down full-time.. Loads of friends saying their considering moving too.. I tend to smile when I read the “Brit’s can’t come to Spain as easy, Spain is going to be empty”.. from a person certain that Brit’s keeping Spain alive.. 😅
The houses that are getting washed away are I think old fisherman cottages that have been handed down through generations of family's. Guardamar is a great town has got fantastic restaurants 2 superb parks, one of the best beaches in the Costa blanca and its tradition spanish although it has a lot of international house buyers, also alot of people from Madrid come to guardamar for there holidays. Pity you didn't get into the castle as the views are spectacular and shows off guardamar right along the to the marina, all in all its a great place to holiday or live full time.
My parents (Norwegians) sold their flat in Playa Flamenca very quickly early in the summer to a Swedish lady through a Swedish agent. Their Scottish neighbours sold through the same agent last year to Swedish people. Noticed a LOT of Scandinavians in the Torrevieja & Orihuela Costa are when I've been there over the last year.
Barry, you just passed the Hoops bar in Guardamar. It's at the front, probably shut at the time in the morning but I'm sure they would have made you feel very welcome.
There’s a Celtic bar Hoops in one of the side streets behind the promenade. If you carry on past the beach houses you will come to the marina behind the dunes.
In Spain it closes at 2 pm to eat, basically, not for siesta, it is a cliché to think that at that time all of Spain is sleeping, what is done is the lunch break.
Really enjoyed that wee video of Guardamar Barry,never been there wee grotto to Our Blessed Lady,was lovely,as you say if it were here would not last long😥thanks for video hope all goes well with your car.👍🇪🇸❣
Nice beach don’t think you would get a mortgage on those house’s at the front might be good for a bit of fishing a real shame for anyone who lives there doesn’t look like they have long left Adrian

You've got the hoops bar, the shamrock and platform 1 for your English speaking bars, they are all Scottish owners.
