I got one chance to see this dude ride. Literally the day before the crash at posh. We were all at the top of the starting hill at Posh. One of my buddies says: bro, look at everyone’s front tire. Like 30-40 (not including the people not riding) people running Mike’s tire. Not even sure he noticed it. That day and up to now. I still haven’t seen a person ride a bike like this dude. He was out of control, like an unleashed animal at the woods. Unstoppable, every trick was dialed, back to back. It seriously was like watching his video parts but now you’re watching him destroy every set at Posh. I’ve seen some amazing dudes film parts, but they’re in it just for the parts. This dude was there to make his bike do things no one had seen before. I know this all sounds insane, but I’m telling you, there will never be another bike rider like Mike. Period.
Absolute one of a kind. I can't remember how many times I've watched this section. Own the dvd and I still can't pass it up when it pops up on my recommended.
fr. when I look back it is hard to believe how ahead of time he was in such a short amount of time. 2000 to 2008 felt like 50 years of him raising the bar. So ahead of the game, still to this day.
'Living legend', 'goat' and 'this will never get old' is so commonly use it lacks meaning somehow nowadays but theres soooo little few occations where all the above apply. Aitken is undoubtly one of em. For ever, and ever.
He is fantastic and gave us everything he gave himself completely to riding. To the point that he almost lost his life. Which left us a teaching forever in the bmx culture, to give everything but taking care of ourselves and ours. Thank Wolf. Gabe OV
Saw the video again while recovering from broken ankle made me feel so stupid for been dipressed for my injury and how am i gonna go back to work..action sports are more dangerus than we think may cause serius injuries or death..respect Mike you always gonna inspire us to do more than what we can lets all start using some protection guys especialy street riders..
yk what mike is an absolute legend, i realize now as an old rider that so many good riders exist maybe not the level of mike's style but we exist and never made vids... this comment is to all the bmx'ers out there that never made the spotlight! you rock almost like mike did :) power on
I was just watching the olympics seeing them doing tricks that used to only be possible in Dave Mira's pro bmx video game. The stuff they are doing doing is insane but Mike Aitken is still my favorite rider. Nothing is better then Mike Aitkens 360 table over a massive double. He could go so high effortlessly.
Love this guy hes the reason I got into fit bikes and dirt jumping he has such a unique style of riding and the way he moves his bike could watch this all day
Legend. Had to come and watch for the hundredth time after catching his unclicked interview. Those goofy footed 360 double trick combos all wrapped up and dumped out are a thing of beauty …. This man won a dew tour with no barspins or tail whips . Let’s just think about that ! He Cemented his legacy before he could even peak but what we did witness was pure and utterly beautiful Bike riding . Long live the night wolf.
@@Fausto_4841what happened with Scotty is.. really sad and frustrating to say the least. Although he wasn’t wearing a full face, the fact he still had a helmet on & that happened to him is sad as hell. He’s easily one of the kindest hearted people (not just riders) I’ve seen… never heard anyone say a bad thing about Scotty or his little brother Matt. Both Aitken & Scotty will FOREVER be legends in their own right, and riders that were around during those times know. Although their injuries were & still are serious, these are two riders that are irreplaceable in my opinion, and I’m wicked glad that they’re both still with us to say the least. Have a solid day man
I'm happy he came out alive. I've watched so many bmx videos, I remember one of my favorite ones was Industry, I just didn't remember the riders not wearing a helmet.
I actually met and talked to him shortly in line at the DMV in Utah he was really nice and it was cool to talk to one of my favorite athletes. I also meant pro skier Simon Dumont at a grocery store in Park City. You never know who you're going to meet
Just the best damn video part ever! Been loving it for so many years❤️ that man defines style on a bike. Love how my 7 year old son changed the lyrics to “in the dead of night, bugs bite”😂

That gave me goosebumps. I remember dudes back in high school would dress talk and act like this dude. And try to ride like him. Legend
This. I've experienced something similiar when I rode with Scotty at inline in my younger days. It was just.....something in its own league.
@cobandallas8644 this is the best comment I’ve ever read. You’re 100% on point about Mike 🙌🔥

Came back to watch in 2023 after his interview on unclicked. Aitken is timeless.
the amount of bike control...
Haven’t rode BMX in a decade but still come back to watch Mikes parts, nobody had more style than this dude
Miss seeing him ride. Glad he came out alive at least after that last crash.

I've watched this part dozens of times, but the sound of that aitken tire in the bowl still gives me goosebumps.
Only one of the best video parts of all times, a true ape..Miken Aitken = BMX LEGEND ☝🏻

Nobody can copy or come close to Mike's style. NOBODY!!!
that little fastplant just messing around at the end of a line was insane. (2:08)
nobody does them like that.
I have no clue about Bmx but this is my favorite Video
💯One of a kind legend 💯trail boss style for life. God bless you 🏆Mike Aitken for all the style and creativity you brought to the BMX community. 👍

Style for days. Kids take notes!
I remember checking the website made for Mike back 08 everyday to see how he was doing. No one will ever come close to Mikes style and flow
it's strange bc scotty was a similar kind of rider, and well, i think people know the rest.
