This man is the perfect example of "your either have IT or you don`t"...out of the thousands of people who play and sing in the internet, not even showing his face, not knowing anything about him as a person, I was just drawn to him from the first time I listened years ago....Im sure a lot feel the exact same,...
I spent many years living in London, and used to think of this song often as I'd drift through town. I've always found it beautiful and melancholy. Tony Rice's version has long been my favourite since his voice was still in good shape, and imbued the tune with that hopefulness he had. It's a real treat to hear your version in 2023, and I hope you realise how much your music impacts strangers clear across the globe. Anonymity and soulfulness are not mutually exclusive!
I am a comment reader especially on the videos placed by UA-camrs I enjoy. This man, this guitar, this voice is at the top of my list of enjoyable videos. Thank you , FK for the always beautiful music and thank you , the followers who give such wonderful words of praise for this entertainer.
Oh my goodness - this is perfection. I have heard so many versions of this song - none quite as poignant as this one. It's in the modulation, the phrasing - the gentle heartbreak of the song shines. Thank you.
I remember a decade ago when I first came across your original set of videos. Your guitar playing is exceptional….but it’s the voice, the delivery…the phrasing …that’s the magic. Thank you for sharing your gift. Hope to hear more of it for years to come.
I’m incredibly glad I found you today! Your playing skills would be enough to come see you in concert for sure, but so would your vocals! You’re truly an inspiration! Thanks! I would buy albums if I knew who you were.
I started watching your first channel when my 16-year-old firstborn was an infant. I used to sing her and her brothers to sleep with songs that you introduced me to, like John Prine's Paradise, Don Henry's Into A Mall, and more recently this Ralph McTell number. Just wanted to say thanks for all the memories. Glad to see you're still at it. 🙏🫡
Great storytelling, as usual. The most captivating entertainers have the ability to make the listener believe that they're singing from personal experience, and Fretkillr has that ability. I struggle with it, especially when reading the lyrics while playing, as that's pretty much what it sounds like. If I can get into character like a method actor, then the results are better, but it doesn't come naturally.
There's a man staying with us at the moment. While he was cooking I put on the latest FK song above. After a moment I turned, noticed he stopped cooking, and he stood there with his eyes closed...listening. After the song, he asked, "Who the hell was that?" So I told him a little story about Fretkillr, how I discovered him about 15 years ago, how he helped change the way I try to play guitar, and introduce me to new music. A new "appreciator" of the man has been added to the flock. Thanks as always, Cheers.
Thanks for being a longtime listener and sharing my performances with others. All these wonderful comments fill my heart with joy for all of us who enjoy music. 🎵
Freti. Awesome as always. You bring all the songs, with the same quality, all the years. Everybody loves and enjoyes this continuity and old kind of quality. That same voice mic hanging down as all of your classic tunes. The old beloved, I guess Taylor. Man, your a/my hero. Sad that u keep forever a mystery to us all. As this is only read by "your friend who's doing the posting", give Fret a hug for us all 😉
Found this man on UA-cam years ago and I must have played his take on Greensleeves a million times (wish it was twice as long!). Always a favorite. So glad he is back!
Fretkillr loves those songs covered by the great Glen Campbell. And why not? Glen was not just a great player with an incredible voice; he had emotional IQ that attracted him to songs with a spiritual core. Wonderful job with this one, which resonates as much or more than ever.
Fretkillr my man, you absolutely nailed it. When you perform it’s like lightning in a bottle. This song has been a personal favourite of mine since I was very small and you played it beautifully. It’s such an emotional song and you captured it perfectly. Until your next video!
I stopped singing and playing for many years and discovering Frett he inspired me to get back into it and now I get millions of views on tiktok and UA-cam. Thank you brother 🙏
Absolutely beautiful FK. I have been a fan for 15 years or so. Like you I both fingerpick and flat-pick. Over the years of carefully watching your videos I have copied a lot of your techniques to improve/ advance my own playing skills. I look forward to new postings. I know by the pick guard that you have been playing that Taylor for a long time. It looks like a 310 or 410. One of mine is. 310. I’m just curious as to your string brand and gauge preference if you don’t mind sharing 4:27
Thanks for being a long time listener. I don't give instruction but good you pick up things from watching my performances. Usually light gauge but these are medium coated strings.
Always loved you sound and playing ofcourse. You are a big inspiration to me! What microphone do you use to get that crystal clear sound? All the best! -Peter from denmark

Can uou tell us about the guitar?
FK... this is one of your finest! And the post production job is great too. Just the right amount of reverb. Can I ask what microphone(s) you used?
Thanks. Only a Q2n. Reverb in post.
Always loved you sound and playing ofcourse. You are a big inspiration to me! What microphone do you use to get that crystal clear sound?
