  • Surah Ad-Duha is the 93rd chapter (Surah) of the Quran. It consists of 11 verses and is classified as a Meccan Surah, meaning it was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) before the migration to Medina. The historical context of Surah Ad-Duha is deeply tied to the early period of Islam when the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was facing personal and emotional challenges.
The revelation of Surah Ad-Duha came during a time when there was a pause in the revelation of the Quran, and the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was feeling a sense of unease and worry. At that moment, when the Prophet was going through a period of distress and doubt, Allah revealed this Surah to comfort him and reassure him of His support and guidance.
The Surah begins with an oath by the morning brightness (Duha), a time when light starts to spread, symbolizing hope and optimism after a period of darkness. It then continues with reassurances from Allah, reminding the Prophet (pbuh) of His past favors upon him, assuring him of His continued blessings, and encouraging him to be patient and steadfast.
Surah Ad-Duha serves as a powerful reminder for believers to remain patient and steadfast during times of difficulty and to trust in Allah's wisdom and mercy. It also provides solace and encouragement for anyone going through challenging times, reminding them that darkness is always followed by light and that Allah's help is near.
