It feels like a fever dream, they actually got a happy ending!!!
AOS had its flaws and for sure I wished some things were done differently but it's been a good while since a drama hooked me like this. The story, the characters, the amazing lines and the many lessons... It really got me and that's why this drama holds a special place in my heart.
I will for sure miss this drama and it's amazing cast. I hope everyone have enjoyed the videos I've made during all these weeks, hopefully I'll edit AOS again since I still have some ideas in mind.

I really love the juxtaposition they have in this show. I don't know Korean so my first thought was that he was shadow and she was light as they showed them being like that. But as the story progressed, I realised why he was light (not just the name) and she was shadow. She's always lived in shadow, in shadow hiding behind names and someone else's body. Yeong was cast aside in shadow that she is only ever remembered as Naksu/mudeok/buyeon, but her real name, her true identity is the one she was given at birth. Yeong, pretty fitting, like her parents knew how her life would be. Her brightened her life with his light, guided her through the dark. He was always the light of the world while she walked with him as his shadow as mudeok. The symbolisms and metaphors in this show is phenomenal, they don't leave anything behind, everything has a meaning that gets revealed further into the story.
++++ totally agree!! i had the same misconception at first, thinking that she brought light and warmth to his life (i suppose literally when she made the house warm and the wraiths gone for a bit). i love how you've explained their meaning!! just wanted to comment bc i liked your thought process!

Pienamente d'accordo...ma è Bu-Yeon rinata che ha avuto la grande capacità di entrare nel corpo di Na-Ksu o Cho...ed ha sfruttato l'energia di Na-ksui per poter far sì che sì che Jang-Uk si addestrare e far sì che la pietra gli appartenesse già sapendo della avidità e della sete di potere degli uomini come successe tanti anni prima....e già sapendo che avrebbe dovuto vegliare con la sua ombra la luce che emana la pietra che ha nel corpo Jang-Uk....e mi piacerebbe tra parentesi (che la Grande Sacerdotessa si sia innamorata della luce del figlio del Re) e ricordando anche una frase di Bu-Jen o Seol, quando Nak-su prima di morire, cercando un corpo confacente, scarto' il corpo di Mu-Deok o Jin Bu-Yeon...poiché troppo fragile per lei....però Bu-Yeon ha avuto una Grande capacità di inserirsi nel suo corpo...e la frase che mi rimane scolpita è la risposta che diede a Na-ksu, (come osi dire che sono una reliquia di Jinyowon).....sentendosi offesa dalla sua Grande Potenza di Sacerdotessa dalla annotazione di Na-Ksu, di avere un corpo più forte....e quindi lei è sempre presente....e una terza serie non mi dispiacerebbe se venisse risaltato tutto questo....Nak-su è sempre stata usata....come Jin Be Yeon e Jang-Uk non sarebbero dovuto nascere poiché i genitori stessi hanno usato la stregoneria, che era vietata.....Naksu è stata usata dopo da Jin Mu...non ricordando le parole che gli furono dette da bambina stai lontano da tuo padre...e Jin Mu ne ha approfittato addestandrola alla alchimia ....Bu Yeon, una grande Sacerdoressa con poteri inimmaginabili con un corpo esile....e però non mi so spiegare come abbia preso il volto di Naksu...visto che il corpo era stato già bruciato....❤❤❤❤❤buona serata ❤❤e Ringrazio tantissimo per questa serie....❤

I feel so sad that critics were so hard on this couple because they got used of Jung So Min in first season when it was shown early on that Yoon Jung would be the main female lead. I swear people don’t have patience and empathy to give something a chance but starts black leashing instead. Lee Jae Wook, Yoon Jung and So Min trio did great job as main characters. We as audience just needed to have enough awareness that while there’s two actress to appreciate for, it’s still the same character that we’ve to root for. Ironically the same thing that was going on in the plot. Uk needed to recognise the person not face.
Have read many professional critics infact praise Go Youn Jung performance.

I never get tired of this line. This is the prettiest and the best line of aos since we never expected the ending. We all are ready for sad ending and here is jin seol ran giving back our girl to jang uk (ಥ﹏ಥ)
Love the edit but, whoever watches this will think how serious both leads were.
They'll never believe we were laughing our asses off almost every time they had any conversation on the screen, especially in season 2!

I fell deeply in love with their story and chemistry (Go Youn-jung and Lee Jae Wook). I really liked the chemistry with Somin too, but with Go Youn-jung, Lee Jae Wook was on fire!!

I was really hoping their happy moments could stay a little longer after all those chaos, heartbreaking episodes ..I wanted to watch a little longer those enchanting moments.
I Don't know why I still hoping that if there's any slightest chance to have S3 or special episode about their normal happy life ,then I will literally go crazy !!!

Yin and Yang, Uk Yeong, Light and Shadow. Uk-Light-Ice Stone, Yeong-Shadow-Shadow Assassin. I can't😭😭😭 They were always meant to be.
And the fact that Naksu started it and Jang Uk ended it(S1 ep 1 frozen lake scene against Park Jin and S2 ep 10 frozen lake scene against fire bird) . Plus the details like thesame sword, same moves and they both smashed the lake open with the sword. They really are star crossed lovers. And in the end scene we got a power couple whom Daeho could put their trust on if ever any danger befalls it again. I'm satisfied with the last scene, it screams badassery and couple goals at the same time. Uk gets rid of the relics and Naksu takes care of locking them back in their cages. Will surely take time to move on from them. Why the heck did I even get so invested in the first place😭 Anyways hoping for success in their future projects and a bright career awaiting for them. If ever they star in another drama again as leads I'd surely be the happiest fangirl, but even if they don't I'd always admire their adorable bond made through AOS. Love lots Yoonjung unnie and Jaewook oppa!💜💜💜

Our light and shadow couple finally got the happy ending they deserve. I wouldn't ask for more since this is the best ending coming from writers we knew who always gives us sad endings so no complains here. I'm just slowly emmersing myself in the joys of how everything was completed. I have nothing else to say, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!

How great it is to find this kind of love and twice in your lifetime. A love that recognizes your soul. A love that is willing to risk everything just to keep you safe.
Both actresses' voices sound so similar. If you close your eyes and just listen, you would think it is just one voice. Their way of talking is a bit different but they sound almost the same. It makes the storyline of them being one person so believable.
The actual Naksu would voice Mu deoks inner thoughts, that's why it sounds familiar. But you're right though, they sound extremely similar.

Everything about this series was amazing. I was one of the skeptics, but was at least willing to give the second season a chance because I was so engrossed in the story and I did enjoy the few times I saw Go Youn-Jung in the first season so I thought it couldn’t be terrible.
But to tell you that I was blown away when it came to season 2 and how they absolutely nailed the story. Some aspects could have been better flushed out with more episodes, sure; but by the end I just wanted a happy ending, I was so heartbroken from everything that had occurred. So honestly I was just thankful we got a happy ending and that the second season delivered on the feelings of the first.
Kudos to the writers and the cast and crew because this became my favorite series of all time.

ugh MY HEART these two!!!!!! i LOVE these two and while i have thoughts on how this season could've been better, i still love their story and just love love love the parallels (and some that you've managed to point out that i hadn't remembered). as usual, you are a MASTER of weaving clips and voiceovers and creating tension and release. like you kind of popped off when you paired the fireworks scene and the lantern at 6:07..... like that's some genius big brain thinking, cause VISUALLY the fireworks going off and the lantern turning off??? and then obviously meaning-wise, it shows his love for her, but like that moment got me GAGGED and it was like 4 seconds. truly, i think if people weren't convinced by their story in s2, this edit would do the trick.

The last two episodes just aired yesterday here in germany, so i am still deep in my feels about these two...ugh...what an emotional roller coaster it was! And now i get to watch this stunning video. First season was more on comedy thriller side but the 2nd season was so full of emotions like i cried in every episode...some scenes were hard to watch and some scenes were like my heart was made of butterflies. Just my opinion i liked S2 way more than S1 just because how well the sad emotions were portrayed. S1 was also great tho...it was more fun than S2 but didn't make me connect to the characters in the show. In last ep of S2, I was really able to feel a stab in my heart when the main leads were separating, my chest ached. S2 was just soooo beautiful
I felt season 2 lacked the intensity that the first season had but you showed that through your edit and I am just speechless😍

For all those thay say that the 2nd season is inferior, you must watch BOTH seasons and see them as a continuous story, where, AMONG OTHER CHANGES, Naksu / Mu Deok / Cho Yeong / Jin Bu Yeon, went from a Solo AOE/DPS Mage Assassin into a SUPPORT/HEALER/AOE Godess, while Jang Uk went from a weakling polititian into a Solo AOE/DPS Mage Assassin
